Gene's Patreon: / hangingoutwithgeneodom Questions? Email us: hanginwithgeneodom@gmail.com Gene tells stories about the band's early days in famous Hell House.
Every time I hear these stories, Gene adds more details. Keep up the interviews Gene. We love to hear them. Looking good. Great to see you still going strong.
Uncle Gene, next time you anywhere around McComb Mississippi let's go make us a fishing trip at Percy Quinn, in tribute in memory to the good old days when you and Ronnie used to go fishing together!
I wonder if it was Ronnie? Then Gene said that just as I was writing this. Can but didn’t make that up . I sure hope Skynyrd is in Heaven when I get there.
I wish I was alive back then. Being born in 66 and actually hearing Skynyrd for the first time in 73. I can say I’ve been a lifelong fan. But to be born a decade plus earlier would have been incredible.
Gene is a good man and a true friend of Ronnie’s ! Gene was someone he could trust and someone who would tell him straight up not someone who would tell him what they think he wanted to hear ! That is worth more than you can imagine!
Gene I really believe that you and Artimus Pyle are still good and healthy and living a long life because ya'll stayed away from alcohol and drugs all those rocking days with Lynyrd Skynyrd.....thats why Ronnie wanted you to try and help clean the band up! Good for you and Artimus!....a healthy life is a long life!!
Y'all are doing a great job with this channel,...Professional,...you know what you are doing,...and its Wonderful you are helping Gene,...a solid guy. dave in NC
I always look forward to watching video's with Gene. Love to hear all of the stories about my favorite band. I am only a few hours away from Jacksonville and if I ever get well enough I would like to go on a tour with Gene. Does he do tours with the general public?
How could I become involved in preserving the local Skynyrd landmarks? I live off of Lenox and Lane and want to make the Skynyrd legacy a landmark attraction in Jacksonville.
I grew up in Fleming Island (back when it was country!). I believe the Hell House would have been off Russel Rd, just west of Hwy 17. This spot was always discussed among locals back when I was a kid.
Wendell Owens told me about Gene and living near him in Jacksonville. Wendell Owens introduced me to The Late Lil Ronnie And his brother Robbie Morris!
Hi Gene. Just curious. Do you still live in generally the same neighborhood as you did when you were younger or did you eventually move out of Jacksonville? Sounds like you have a lot of fond memories of Jacksonville. I'm from Michigan and a big Lynyrd Skynyrd fan. Ronnie sounded like he wanted to get out of "Shanty Town" as you say.
