I like the use of the paint to show examples. It helps people like me visualize the tactics and understand better

"evening the odds" is a perfect expression for an essential benefit of smoke. Always ask yourself, wether you want to even the odds between you and the enemy in a certain situation.

Smoke absolutely can cause your team problems. I see time and time again a medic will drop a smoke literally ontop of your defences to revive a downed player - rendering half of your defenders blind and letting the attackers take ground and sometimes this is the catalyst for losing an obj... But yeah the generaly rule i try and teach people is you dont use smoke for your concealment you use smoke to blind your enemy and once people have that mindset its easier to understand more of this theory and start using smokes much more effectively.

You all heard the ad: Smoking can save you life. Changing classes like you do is also very poverfull and should be used more.

Imagine explaining advanced tactics like smoke screens, while 90% of players can't comprehend basic mechanics like "BUILD A F*CKING GARRISON". HLL in a nutshell. Meh.

I had to unlearn what BFV taught me with smoke. In BFV it more often was the case to smoke quite literally youre own position. Whether as a medic, tank, e.t.c. volumes of fire are much higher in that game, but smoke was also nearly instant. You wanted the enemy to lose you in their crosshairs. In HLL, it's the opposite. You throw smoke at or towards the enemy. As you said, you are evening the playing field. When you smoke them they either have to leave their defendable position, or stay and run the risk of losing information on your last whereabouts. Either way, you're gaining a lot more than if you use smoke like a BFV medic.

If you end up close to a tank but without AT weaponry, throw a smoke on the tank. Tanks have limited vision anyway, smoking them renders them completely blind. I’ve seen heavy and medium tanks get stuck trying to escape the smoke after I did this.

Staggering smoke is very easy on city maps such as carentan. If the enemy are set up a long way down the road, just slowly smoke, push, smoke, push, until you’re able to smoke their position and blind them completely.

Really great vid, to be honest it should come as common sense, but I've seen so many new players throwing smokes in the most dumb ways Also your demonstration of how to smoke push on Paint was really well done actually ahahahah Of course, smokes can be just as hurtful to your own team as they can be to the enemy team, so understanding how to use smokes in the ways you demonstrated is super important for anyone new to HLL

This is exactly how i used smoke bombs in COD MW2. It was even stronger when i put on a thermal scope on my gun so i can see through my own smoke and shoot people through my wall of smoke. I can see you but you can't see me unless they were running thermal scopes too, but not many were using thermal scopes back in those days except snipers for the most part

I was pinned down in a bunker, so i threw a smoke in the entrance and went outside if the bunker to find enemys that were firing inside the bunker because they thought i was there

I usually use grenades when I try to save people as the medic.

I like to take the jumbo 75 (King Cobra) & smoke the far side of a point our team is trying to capture

Admittedly it wasn't HLL (but the principle is the same): I was playing Day of Infamy and capturing a building. I was in a corner behind a box and a team mate popped smoke in the room. I was reloading so kind of vulnerable. I could hear enemies entering the room to break the cap but they couldn't see me. When the smoke cleared and I had reloaded, I killed them all and we made the cap.

To sum it up, you should put smoke in their faces, not yours. The closer to them, the more cover you have, as you say.

What they can not see they can not hit. Unless aim bot ofc 😆 So remember guys in irl these 4 things are important. Can also be used in hll Supression Cover Concealment Teamwork There is not other way !!!
