sorry to hear that. To be fair you can't really play much, basically one match, during the refund time, so I guess you were just unlucky. From my experience the HLL community is actually really chilled. Sure, I had my experience with people who thought their way is the only way to play, but they have always been rare and if you tell people that you're new or ask specific questions most will try to help you out. And sales do attract many new people who may have no idea how to play the game, I guess as Squad player you may already have a much better understanding of Squadplay and roles, as someone who comes from Battlefield or COD. The vehicles at the start are not really needed... most people wait until the first garrison is placed anyways, as there just is not enough capacaty for the entire team. Sure if no one places one its bad played... but sometimes you get these matches. And not gonna lie, I had very good Squadleaders at level 15 and no-mic SLs doing nothing like you describe on level 100... having a lvl50 SL-rule doesnt mean much in my oppinion. And yeah the medic is in 90% pointless in the game, simply because there is no ticket system and you get full ammo on respawn. So its in most cases the better option, thats why people don't wait. And some other mechanics are, indeed, not perfect, like artillery, the lacking depth of tanking etc... but nothing gamebreaking as long as the teams are balanced in skill. Hope you may give it another shot, maybe on a free weekend, when you get more time to play, because I really think you just got the unlucky pick of the servers.

Not sure what it is. I'm the same way you just described, but the other way around. I've tried so hard to like Squad but I just can't seem to get into it. From my limited experience it feels like Squad requires a deeper level of coordination than Hell Let Loose (which is good) but I never get a squad that uses their mics. Difference is in Hell Let Loose you can still sort of scrape by without a mic or even a squad to coordinate with. Whereas it feels like to me Squad just tells you to get fucked if no one is talking. That being said most of the things you said about Hell Let Loose are true lmao. Majority of people who play Hell Let Loose are brainlets who need to be incentivized to play the objective rather than doing it on their own. Being the Commander/SL is basically being a glorified tard-wrangler. You have to force people to go to the objective by placing garrisons otherwise they'll just run in a straight line towards the enemy spawn until they find someone to shoot at. It's funny how you mentioned how you don't feel like anyone is fighting for an objective in Hell Let Loose because despite everything I just said I still personally feel a greater sense of team purpose from players in Hell Let Loose than I do when I play Squad. Is there a reason for that you think? From someone who feels the same way about Hell Let Loose I'd love to hear your input and see if I'm missing something.

@Alarmingly Fast Moving Skeleton I guess it's not that there isn't a fight for the objective, it's that there is a completely uncoordinated one in HLL that is hard to read on the map. In my squad matches there are squad driving out past current obj to set up forward FOBs, mortar positions, flanks, ect. In HLL we all spawned and there was just a group of people all running to the exact same spot only to all die and then have to spawn back at main because no garrisons. All the games were super fast just one side steamroller the other where as in squad I feel like most of the games are within 150ish tickets of eachother. The fact that medic role is pointless in HLL takes away a huge chunk of teamwork right there. I feel like it's in this bad in-between between a milsim game and more arcade-y type game like COD and if they would just lean a little bit more to one side or the other it'd feel better as a game.

@@puddlebarf I completely agree. The fact that the game is completely oversaturated with automatics and semi-automatics is the culprit behind why Medic is a bad class. It's honestly kind of a joke when you compare it to World War 2, every German is running around with an MP40 or STG44, every Soviet a PPSH and every American a Thompson. The fact that Medic is the only realisticly equipped class makes it the worst. Like you said, they're trying to make the game arcadey and it's just holding the game back. Like I said in my first comment, it's pretty much up to the Commander and the SL's to actually play the game while everyone else sort of just gets to play COD.
