Hell Let Loose - Tanks Hold The High Ground On Kursk To Win

Just the other day, ran a tank crew with a buddy of mine and a random. We had really poor runs on the first objectives until it came down to the very last one. We requested a tiger more or less just because but went straight to the last point because we realized we were already too late to salvage the current point. I stopped us, initially, at a crossroad east of the point, but realized we were too exposed and too far away from the point circle for infantry to help us, and the point was up a shallow hill, so we couldn't see the point or the west and north sides of it. We agreed to head up to the point, going down the road and up the hill by houses and thick tree cover and came out up on top of the hill where the point was. The road continued west and down the hill and there were trenches where our infantry had stationed up on the south side overlooking fields and other buildings 200m south. There was a small embankment on the north side of the trenches just big enough to park the tank on, so we turned south and provided overwatch. We provided significant overwatch for a good 20 minutes from that position, and I called enemy positions out in local so the infantry could target the enemy as well. They pushed from the west, so we moved to park on the road and face west, again providing overwatch and callouts. Then they pushed from the north and east, so we turned around and did the same again, mainly firing on buildings northeast and the road. They continued that east push for a while before we saw an airhead on the southwest side and by the time we got turned around, at least 2 squads of infantry were running up the hill within 50m of our tank and started smoking the whole hill top. My gunner and driver unloaded into that smoke as our infantry came up behind us and then footed their way into the thick of it, having point blank fire fights with the enemy. Twice the enemy called artillery on the hill, killing our infantry, and on that second western push, our artillery strike blew right through a large chunk of their northwestern forces. We were there for over 30 minutes on top of that hill but we held it. Was one of my favorite tank runs ever.

Fresh, it was an honor tanking with you in thing game! I think we pulled our weight but you are truly the king of counter tanking! Saved our asses on multiple occasions. That hill was a true tank graveyard!

I think that the Tiger 1’s too OP on Kursk since it one shots t34 and it can see tanks from the HQ so the soviets don’t even have the chance to aim before the first shot has been taken.

I just HATE this map for tanking. Germans are so overpowered because of the high ground. To win you just need to put 2 tigers one on each side of the map up on the hill and free kill every other tank and soldier that tries to run over.
