Seems to me, Post Scriptum does things alot better than Hell Let Loose as HLL seems more for fun than 100% accuracy..Post Scriptum goes for realism etc.
Yeah, PS sfx is just far better, HLL just has the advantage over PS due to it being less milsimy and more arcadey, as well as it being on console. This is probably why HLL overtook PS. But honestly even from me, who’s been playing PR and Squad since forever, HLL is just more fun.
no, its honestly infuriating when people talk about it, I've looked for evidence of it being used in combat and have found virtually nothing. I've also never heard accounts of it from other country's soldiers commenting on it. at best I saw a few photos that are hard to make out but some do look like they were using it but most don't. sometimes, sure. standard practice?? no Then when you factor in that it was a pre ww1 idea and that ww1 challenged a lot of pre ww1 ideas of war, and stress and such from active combat. Its seems more likely to be a cool and fun training exercise that stuck rather than an actual standard or even advantage as the accuracy was hurt by it. to me its an cool factoid of the gun that got perpetuated on the internet and such so much that people don't question it. similar to things like the tiger being the perfect tank or the whole ussr "grab your fallen comrades gun because we don't have enough" myths. sure there's some truth to them, but they're all exaggerated to hell. shouldn't be in the games unless as a more rare thing like how some games let you fan the hammer on revolvers and such.
I really hate that HLL ditched realism and that thte playerbase are not being more militant on them changing some weapon, vehicle models around, etc...
@@Krejii05 True, realism was ditched for the Russian Heavy tank, the FG42, the BAR not having a bipod, etc. But like you said, they finally made running feel more normal. Still needs tweaking because I can dodge bullets fired by bolt actions though lol
@@octaviosardi3337 The BAR not having a bipod is actually realistic since soldiers often decided to not take the bipod into battle since it was too heavy and because the BAR was closer to an assault rifle than an LMG, but yeah i never even trusted Team 17 to actually add realism to the game because the first update they did as new developer is to change the M1Garand reload animation to a unrealistic one
If you look at the fanbase, forums, reviews and RU-vid videos are all roasting HLL, I uninstalled it and am not planning on reinstalling it if things don’t get fixed. Here is hoping PS picks up steam again because honestly that game was always better
I love postscriptum and am, therefore, biased. I’ve played a fair amount of he’ll let loose and it’s just well, underwhelming. Sure the commander abilities are a nice spectacle but the guns don’t have any punch. Take the boys AT rife. In post scriptum it feels like your firing a masive rife designed to disable or destroy tanks whereas in hell let loose it feels like a rife with a longer bolt time. Side note, tank combat in post is miles better than he’ll let loose. Edit: the clip doesn’t show it but when a person is hit by the at rifles in post scriptum they explode in pink dust. Very satisfying.
By only looking at this video I can tell that Post Scriptum has more accurate and interesting animations, but they look kinda underfunded. Also the weapons feels smaller in post scriptum in comparison to other two
They were criminally underfunded and it was originally a mod for squad that got brought onboard by ofworld. Sadly, with the changes in ofworlds management style, projects such as beyond the wire and post script have been abandoned. I love and cherish post script.
Hell Let Loose audio engineer be like: Lets throw some low end on this bad boy, oh I like that, lets throw some more on it, WOW I LOVE IT, LETS CRANK THAT LOW END ALL THE WAY UP GODDAMNNNNNN GIMME THAT BASS, BASS, BASS!!!!
If you disconnect from voice the sound changes, the bass thing is so the human voice does not overlap with the guns. It was intentional, less immersive yes, but easier to understand other people talking.
fun fact: after loading the second charger, you would simply close the bolt. The bolt head coming forward hits the charger, it pivots in the slot and falls away from the action, both in the No1 and No4 rifles.
Post Scriptum got it far more correct.... and not just with the weapons but in many areas. HLL is nothing but a CoD style FPS, everything is in the name of "balance". PS kept it balanced while keeping the different factions true to themselves. HLL's armor modeling is simply horrendous. I wish PS had the same support as HLL.
@@coltoncyr2283They never did. HLL has become more and more arcadey with every update. During their initial marketing push they specifically aimed for the BF5 crowd.
@@JustSkram 100% true... HLL looks and feels like a CoD2 Remaster... Also on most servers, all the tactical team play mechanics, including voip are rarely used... In games like Post Scriptum or Squad, its pretty normal to use it...
Sadly on driel you are not playing as british parratrooper and in el-alamein there is no afrika korps and british summer uniforms like in Post scriptum
You can't sit here and deny that HLLs environment is stunning! You don't pay attention to gun sounds, just feel the ambiance. The best thing they have for them.
Was hoping to see the British Day of Infamy guns on here. I'd have to say that the weapons and explosives are done best in it out of all the realistic games of the genre. Sounds are mechanical, metallic, and generally all-around beefy. Every gun (barring the high power and maybe welrod) has its own general effectiveness on the battlefield. And of all the realistic games with British guns, I must admit that DoI hands down has the best sights for them by a LONG shot. The only problem I'd see is that the BOYS AT rifle isn't included since armored warfare isn't present in that game, and it doesn't have the Lanchester or any close equivalent since those SMGs were used in exceedingly small numbers in their respective armies.
the only problem with doi is that you can run around and hip fire with a watercooled vickers hahaha should've just used the american .30 cal in my opinion or more brens
@@crumpetcommandos779 I mean, while it's not exactly practical, it's proven to be possible. R. Lee Ermey even participated in a US weapons documentary showing that, while it would take a fairly beefy soldier to do it, a soldier could technically run-and-gun with a similarity heavy M1917 water cooled MG. Plus, DoI is respectful of this fact since the Vickers severely limits what equipment you can carry due to the weight system in the load out menu. Other MG gunners for America or Germany can have WAY more stuff equipped than the Vickers gunner.
Did Hell Let Loose updated their gunshot sounds? I was always whining about i disliked HLL gunshot sounds so much. They sound low and powerless. Now i see this vid and they sound so good now.
Every sound from beyond the wire or Post Scriptum simply sounds better than HLL... I really dont know why its so hard for HLL Devs to implement good sounds...
The grenade Explosion from Post Scriptum looks like a real life explosion... Like its from a movie... Why does the HLL Devs not care about FX and SFX? The grenade explosions look like CoD2 with HD mod. Why is there white smoke coming out of the grenade when it explodes??? HLL could be such a good game but all these things leading Post Scriptum to a clear superiority when it comes to immersion...
HLL isn't Arcady, dont know why people say that. It's the players that make it that way. Run and gun, remove the roles. I noticed people can run thru every bush in PS, which is pretty dumb lol no soldier would just do that. Kind of... Arcady.
For the sten no, no gun in this game needs less recoil they need more, the guns in HLL literally has no recoil just as you fire you`re weapon there is a little recoil but after that the shots just becomes a lazer and shoots straigth forward
Hell Let Loose as a game needs alot of adjusting. The new devs seem hell bent on making a Battlefield clone out of HLL, it makes me hope that Post Scriptum gets some love again.
much better to use in post and it's got the mag on top to make loading it while prone easier. it's also way easier to load it with an assistant loader if the mag is on top.
@@coltoncyr2283 Not really looking for melee kills. If you've ever played RO2/RS, then you'd know melee can be implemented and work. Functional bayonets can be effective in close quarters. There are situations where melee is a better alternative than trying to shoot someone point-blank--especially if you've got a bolt action and they don't. I'm not trying to bring a knife to a gun fight, but when you need to melee, it'd be nice to have something that made sense rather than a COD melee animation with a knife or shovel.
Please bring PS to console ... Tho I have to admit PS in my opinion looks and feels the better experience why has it failed so dramatically in the popularity war is it to hard ,to long winded ? HLL is not exactly a game for the casual neither .
HLL was lighting in the bottle, realistic enough to scratch that itch but not too much to still appeal to casual gamers. Problem is they are now trying to lean into the casual gamer part way more, which is fine sure but they have missed on both major swings now. And I think if they don’t change course HLL is gonna die as a game. Post Scriptum is more realistic and can sometimes not be so much fun depending on the map and your team. It also has a much steeper learning curve.
It is too bad, I wish PS found a way to be more... fun. The setting, models, and effects are in a lot of ways better to HLL but I find HLL so much more enjoyable to play
@@hemporergaming That's because people like a simpler one . Many people don't care detailed things but such a Realistic FPS should be evaluated from the aspect of realism than casualness or popularity.
