I loved how Leo (Howard Hughes) looked so pained and anguished and passionate and near the edge of tears as he watched his film.

Just watched the actual “Hell’s Angels” a few days ago. It only has one actual dogfight sequence, but holy crap, it’s AMAZING!!!!

Hughes just wanted to make the best movie possible with what money could buy at the time, He didn't care about making a profit on this film.

It’s Tchaikovsky symphony no 5 for the most part but the very first few bars is original think.

I do not think he was attempting to make a movie. He simply decided that it was cheaper to do r and d using the studio's money - to study how planes flew, to improve upon them.

Hell's Angels (1930) - that is way worse , more unwatchable, than Plan 9 from Outer Space (Ed Wood). Makes one appreciate the genius of Charlie Chaplin.

Absolute terror and nervousness about how his movie will be received. I know the feeling. I had some of my animations played in a theatre and I felt exactly the same, because it is something YOU made, if it is rejected, then YOU are being rejected by a very large group of people. It's one of the reasons I admire stand up comedians so much.
