@ShadowMoon JP left because of his commitment as restaurant director for Petrus reopening (GR's restaurant in London). He came back for HK11,12. Then left again after they found his replacement. Now He has his own restaurant which'd just been added to the list in Michelin guide2019. To think the fight with Van is one of the reason he left is just ridiculous, considering he'd been serving and being GR's bon ami for 14 f-cking years(as of HK11).
I felt extremely sorry for Salvatore. He left school to go to work and support his family at a young age and didnt learn english or how to write and Gordon later found out thats why he couldnt write well. He looked so sad. :(
D u a l i t y - My sir (or ma'dam), that is a perfect checklist of stupidity. You want to know a funny thing about common sense? It's not common at all.
14:16 "Salvatore, fight back young man" Honestly that line would've just encouraged me to go on. Like maybe I wouldn't have actually fought back but I at least would have felt like "this guy believes in me and I can't let him down." To be fair he probably doesn't but the line would have been inspired me to go on none the less.
BWM So you are telling that knowing English is a must to be a chef.So you are telling me that if i wanted to be a chef in Italy,i need to know English? Fuck off! The only thing you need to know is the ability to cook a great meal.Salvatore might not know how to write in English but he can still communicate. Even Gordon Ramsay respects him,so who are you to judge a chef based on his ability to speak English when one of the greatest chefs in the world is not.Your comment is both ignorant and foolish.
The moment of when Ramsey tells the team it's not their fault is one of the moments that shows how fair he is. Obviously played up for TV but his principals still in there
I feel bad for Salvatore. he worked for 21 years for his parents and had no time to learn English at schools yet he breaks down when being the waiter. give this guy a break. he may not be the best cook but he's certainly the most lovable contestant
Yeah lol it would go great and all the food would go out on time because they've already been steeled against Ramsay and know exactly how he is. He would still surprise them I'm sure since it's his nature. XD
Yes because the "professional" chefs on Hell's kitchen are obviously so fucking skilled and so apparently represent the skill level of general cooking talent.
Narrator (calmly): Chef Ramsey is waiting for.... *Camera cuts to Ramsey* Ramsey (anxiously) : GAaaRnISH PLlLEaaaSSeeeEE!!!! I don't know why but I lost it 😂
I'm kinda disappointed in Tim considering he uploaded three 16+ min highlight videos from season 7 and not a single of them doesn't include clip of Benjamin cooking risotto without rice ...
If I were on Hell's Kitchen I'd learn how to make the food before I went on the show Like risotto, steak, fish So when I got there I would cook it perfectly
Also the main issue is teammates. Because you can cook something perfectly but it won't go out if the garnish or the other plates aren't ready. So you may have to remake it if it takes them longer in like 5 minutes then when you're done. Also if you Buckle Under Pressure you might as well be screwed because you never really know what you'll do or how your mind will think under that much pressure when you're in that situation. You might completely forget how to cook it. Or start second-guessing yourself which is I think the main portion of Hell's Kitchen which is the pressure
KumaoftheForest I would most certainly cook menu items until I could cook them in my sleep. I would make sure all my skills are perfect. There is a lot of studying if you want to be a top chef. Gordon has videos on many Of his dishes, right here on RU-vid.
She was laughing at the others because she thought she would win it with them sucking but it's a team effort in hell's kitchen one person on your team can take everyone down
So no one who speaks Italian didn’t notice Ramsey throwing one of the best and heaviest curse word that there are in the Italian language just like that? 6:36
not even, if you'd have watched that episode entirely, you'd know that Salvatore had never learned to read and write at all. he explains that his family was super poor and couldn't afford to send him to school when he was in Italy. He was forced to work at a very early age to help his family pay the bills. he has a pretty sad background unfortunately. And when Ramsey found out he actually felt sorry for him. Sadly we never found out what Ramsey did for him but I have a feeling that he probably had him take private lessons when he sent him home. Because before Salvatore actually got eliminated from the competition he was starting to surprise Ramsey with some pretty decent dish's in the challenges. He actually had a decent pallet. :)
While I don't doubt they stage a lot of things, these guys don't exactly all have the same level of culinary knowledge and skill. I don't know how much practice or time these guys actually cook together off camera, but I bet not all these guys have the same sort of line experience. It's really all a recipe for disaster, you won't really see any actual kitchen, especially a higher end one, just hire a whole new back of the house and expect everyone to work well a few weeks into service. Even established ones would be more than happy to fire problem cooks/chefs, whereas in this series, there's multiple problem contestants that stay on because we'd only have 3 episodes of Hell's Kitchen each season if they cut off all the bad ones at an instant. That and of course Ramsey is going into this as if these weeks old cooks are akin to a well running kitchen.
No it isnt fucking staged you dumb fuck. "producers telling him" jesus christ have you ever in your fucking life been to a restaurant. Like yes its a show yes some bits are staged but this is a fucking restaurant.
I agree. Especially in season 15. He wasn't as tough or aggressive on them except for Kevin who he kicked out mid-service. Seasons 14 and before he was pretty brutal to the chefs.
I went to Bunnings I reckon that had to be from the higher ups, I know he said himself he had 2 different personas for HK and Masterchef, I think he began to find a balance between the 2 but you're right he was a killer in the early HK episodes.
