I'm a little disappointed that this game was so short, because I went through in 7/8h, touching all the walls to not miss anything. And I have a strange feeling that after defeating the first giant, the budget for the rest of the story ended because it was a such speedrun to the end compared to Hellblade 1. It is a pity that the creators did not have more time/money or anything else that would allow them to convey the whole story, not a summary

By the way "goði" is not a name but a title. It's leader of a group in Icelandic history. So every time you say "Goði did x" you should say "the Goði did x"
I loved Hellblade 2 but was a bit letdown with some things. I feel the puzzles being easier than Hellblade 1 was an improvement and the combat was better. But I missed fighting giant gods like Hellblade 1
It's Astridr,not Astrior☝🏻- in general the "r" is silent and the names would be pronounced more like Astrid,Fargrim and Thorgest. I don't know,why they butchered this in the game🤷🏻♂️ - but that's nitpickin' on my side. Did 2 runs,the first 100% in about 7 hrs and the 2nd straight through in 4 hrs 34 min - 50 bucks are way too much for this but fortunately it's on game pass. It's an audio/visual masterpiece of art but as a videogame it falls straight to the face imo. Btw,you didn't explain the story,you just retold the game🤷🏻♂️ - Senua....
If 50 bucks is too much for this type of game, that is already very niche, we're doomed. That's why corporations are only financing slop that goes for 100 hours of average content. Because we as buyers are sending them that message, that we simply want to buy entertainment per hour. I think we should be sending a different message. That we want thoughtful and artful games, that have a message to convey and give us food for thought. And by definition those can't simply be games that take a lot of hours. Or better said, it's very rare that they can do that. Generally, only smaller teams with a focused vision want to risk that sort of thing. And those don't have the budgets for sprawling size and risky thoughtful narratives. I'm of a different vision. I want games not priced based on length or size of content. I want them priced based on how masterful and thoughtful they are. And how emotionally resonant they manage to be. How much they touch the person playing it. And not in a superficial, fast-food endless content to consume matter of way. There's plenty of AAA games, with dozens upon dozens of fat, that are 60-70 dollars, that I would probably not even support for half that. And then there's very few, very special games, like SOMA, that I would honestly have no issue paying 100 dollars. But if we can't at least support them for 50 I don't know what to say. Just that we're probably not gonna get many of these. It's already very hard to create something like this, but then to also have the difficulty in getting it rewarded.

But the average gamer wants to play a game and doesn't pay a developer for his vision - if I go out for dinner,I pay for a product and not for the cook's vision of a meal...
This wasnt an explanation, more of a rundown of the story. I just saw all these cutscenes, I want an explanation, not the cutscene again. You basically took the words from the game, copy-pasted it and read it out, claiming to be an explanation. I'm sorry, but this 42 minutes is a waste of time. Now I'll go and find another video witch does explain the story and ending, instead of telling me the same thing, in the same metaphoric way

Please don't tell I understand it all correctly 🙏all HELLBLADE 1 was in her mind and in HELLBLADE 2 there actually where no giants ? Like people imagine them because of fear? Puck that !!! How can someone create such a good games and destroy the whole logic of story ?
In my opinion, people from that time and culture still connect the natural disaster with greater powers. They often do not separate them. So when a kinda weird person (like Senua) comes along and says it was the giant's doing, it 'makes sense' to them, even though they never see it.
