Hey dudes - I'm sorry I didn't provide the proper visuals when talking about the Warbonds! Quite honestly, I had a long day and spent so long on the ranking and voice-over, that I thought simple gameplay would be adequate. Clearly an oversight by me. I genuinely just want to provide the best possible content, and this ain't it. Not even close. I hope some of you still enjoy, but I'll do better in the next one. Promise. ❤
The Verdict, Liberator Carbine and crossbow are actually excellent weapons. The verdict one shots troopers and can kill devastators with a mag dump, it's a viable alternative to the Senator. The Liberator Carbine is an alternative to Knight SMG. It's an excellent CQB weapon. The crossbow is basically a very long ranged grenade launcher for your primary slot. You can lob explosive bolts across the map, one tap devastators to the head, two shot scout walkers. The thermite grenades are decent, they can kill hulks and tanks which frees up my other weapon slots to be anti medium.
I just got off a 12 hour overnight and have extremely important information to pass on to all helldivers. I discovered this morning that if you rotate your thumb stick 360 while diving, you can take little to no fall damage. I did it for about an hour and found that 2 out of 3 jumps while doing this trick either completely mitigate fall damage or if done right only gives you a quarter of what you would normally take please let me know if you try it and it works
@@polar3488goated for cosmetics and booster, weapon wise it is objectively worse than many and that has nothing to do with skill. Whether you can use those weapons or not doesn't change that there are better ones in the other warbonds.
Should have had a Studded Boots perk that prevented sliding on ice and entirely removed the snow movement debuff (when also running muscle enhancement)
The armor sets in Polar Patriots really should have had a different passive, wherein they prevent you from slipping on icy surfaces and make you less hampered when traversing snowy terrain. Call it Winter Warrior, the same name as the armor. Wouldn't be the first time they gave an armor and its passive the same name (Servo Assisted).
Cutting Edge really is great. It's really the stagger warbond, with the Blitzer pushing back bugs and Plasma punisher throwing bots around. Then the stun grenade staggers them more. No set of primaries and grenades has more "sit down, shut up"
It's important to pay attention to how many super credits are in each warbond because saving them to buy more warbonds can give you a discount on later warbonds.
1. StVe- IBreaker, Dominator and Senator are top tier weapons 2. CuEd- PPlasma is amazing, stunnades are a really nice item and Sickle is a solid main. but its not as hard as StVe 3. DeDe- GPistol and the Crossbow post patch are good. Eruptor fell off after the nerfs and still solid 4. PoPa- the main weapons are usable, the Tenderizer is the best among them for control on group play 5. ViCo- disapointment. only have ass cosmetics and the booster that carry everything. weapons are weak and dont work properly
Man, I'm super happy that the premium currency is pretty easy to accumulate for free Its not like plat farming or dumping a mortgage to get a bit of premium currency
Since the game came out, I've been playing on my wifes PS5 account. This week, she gifted me a shiny new PS5. So i re-bought the game and started a PSN account. I agonized over which warbond to gift myself at first. Amusingly, I chose the warbond thats dead last in the video, "Polar Patriots." I did it because I wanted to surge straight to the Pummeler so I could pair it with the ballistic shield. But I ended up finding the recently buffed Tenderizer so very satisfying as a marksman AR. I seriously got some Halo vibes off of it. Those two guns I think, will do well for me till I can re-earn everything on the new account. Before someone asks why I'am not just using my wife's account still. She decided to start playing Helldivers with me and gets to reap the benefits of my work. She doesn't have all that time to grind.
Ever since I found out what the Arc thrower was it changed my game I love it it’s inconsistent and I have to be so careful with new players I join but even wearing full Arc armour for role play as it has no effect to anything in game at mo love all the cutting edge as it fits my role play style
I am the Helldiver that bought and completed all warbonds too. And I wholeheartedly agree with you that Cutting Edge is number one while Steeled Veterans is number two. However, because I put more value in mechanical bonuses than cosmetics, I rank Polar Patriots higher than Viper Commandos simply because of the fact VP only offers good armor passives which are very good but situational while PP gives you two fantastic primaries and a decent grenade. However, I am biased because everyone is, lmao.
I'm a fan of Polar-Patriots. The Kodiak armor/helmet are my favorite armor set in the game, especially when combo'd with the super citizen cape. And the Motivational shocks booster is 1 of my favorite boosters. ... Idk, im a heavy armor fan.
instead of buying it with money, progress trough the free one, in the end you get enough to get another one(and im pretty sure you get them aswell when you level up which is enough time to finish one)
Gotta disagree regarding the liberator carbine, with good fire control its damage output is crazy good and ridiculously useful for things you wanna burst down fast like berserker devastators, stalkers and the like, and crouching or prone the recoil is even easier to handle.
Honestly I think all Warbonds are only good if it's for your use in my opinion. I've grinded for both the Polar Patriots and the Democratic Detonation because they have weapons and armor I like. The Tenderizer and the Devestator armor are really cool.
@12:00 you mention “the default frags”. You might have realized if you included the free warbond in this review, but frags are not the default. The actual default is the High Explosive grenade. It’s a common mistake for RU-vid content creators (and players in general), because it’s one of the first unlocks people typically get.
The warbonds armor don’t have their own specific environmental perks other than cutting edge which in my opinion is the best so long as everyone in the squad wears a arc suit and has a arc thrower. It pretty much turns the game into ghostbusters and having for arc throwers hitting a bug breach or bot drop is so OP it’s stupid. Weird how nobody runs this when matchmaking. 😂 other than that I just wear standard blacks and rock a standard AR. It’s low key all you need.
I think you're straight up wrong with the crossbow. I found it really useful and better than the eruptor. I've have just been spamming it the last week because it feels so much better. Not having to bring regular grenades nor the grenade pistol opens up even more weapon combinations since it felt really awkward if you didn't have a way to manually close bug holes and bot fabricators. That alone, feels much better. The hunter argument doesn't hit for me because even if it did, why are you shooting at hunters with this gun in the first place? it has a slow fire rate, a small explosion radius, and like you said, doesn't one shot them directly at times. It can, its just not consistent. So just switch to your secondary or support weapon. Bushwhacker and Redeemer are a LOT better at handling hunters than most primaries I find and flamethrower ain't bad at turning them into bug barbeque. The crossbow's ability to handle enemies is also great. It 2 shots nursing spewers in their sac(the few times the explosive trait is actually useful), keeps brood commanders and warriors at bay very easily, 2 taps hiveguards, and deals with chargers better I thought. Wasn't expecting to 5 shot a charger butt in all honesty. On bot side, 4 taping a hulk back as well as a devastator is pretty solid considerinng you stagger them each shot and of course a headshot is a 1 shot as you would expect. It also pretty consistent at one shotting scout striders, two shots if needed and since bots only have one or two fabricators at each base, it makes it really easy to just run in, blow them up, and get out before dropships come. Especially, since you don't have to reload after every shot and gain all your shots from ammo packs unlike a certain secondary. I also just think cutting edge is kinda bad. I don't know, I just don't use any of the stuff in there besides stuns. Scythe is okay, plasma punisher is good but only good vs bots, and biltzer I hate using. That's a gun that NEEDS to one shot hunters reliably.
I'm sorry man, saying Adjudicator is a good all rounder feels wrong, I haven't played with it recently, but if I recall correctly, it's inferior in every stat when compared to the Tenderizer. The only thing Adjudicator has up on Tenderizer is it's greater armor penetration, but even then that's not usually good enough to grade it higher than Tenderizer in my book.
We need one more planet with less then 50% of the planet liberated with only 2 hours and 15 minutes remaining . call available reinforcements.. deploy to wezen
Plasma punisher is horrible. I have 600 hours in the game, most obviously on diff 9. This PP gun has atrocious damage and only 8 rounds in a mag. I really don't understand why youtubers recommend it
I will say, the knifes couldn’t be a let down because I don’t know a single person who thought throwing knifes would be better than bullets or grenades
I never thought they'd be better because no aoe but I thought they'd do more damage, be retrievable (maybe with a cool animation to pull them out of enemies) and useable as a melee weapon. If they made those changes throwing knives still wouldn't be a better choice than grenades but they would be fun and people would probably want to use them
Also if you pressed the melee button it would be cool and super useful if you used the throwing knives to stab. Like that is part of the reason I thought they were going to be justified. But the other hand is stealth and its a quiet throwable.
I want more gear with the default Helldivers colors. I don’t know what their new obsession is with orange, but I want more Black and Yellow drip. More black and grey helmets that just go with anything.
i told him that a few videos ago. he goes on about how he uses the new stims in every dive but somehow has no footage of stiming himself with it? i dont get it.
Steeled veterans - should have additional perk to void limb damage Demolition - should have additional perk to void fire damage Polar patriots - should have additional perk to void blizzard and snow slowdown. Viper - should have additional perk to increase stealth or easily move thru foliage. Such a missed opportunity. Still fun but would have given me more reason to role play based on environment
The devs wanted to change warbonds, so they were more thematic and cosmetic, and they will add more free stuff. The theme is top notch on Viper, and for cosmetics is the best, which I think is what the devs intended
Yes I would rather have 1-2 good weapons and some cosmetics than a warbond with 4 weapons and only 1 good weapon. I think it will help with the game's overall stability and weapon balance as they wont have to test as much. (also I fear it would bloat the current options we have, and it would definitely be harder to balance weapons overall when there is more weapons in the game obviously).
I think people need to pay more attention to why the change happened. Polar patriots was a symptom of them not having the resources to pull off that style of warbond within the time frame they have. It's not a question of "do you want things like democratic demo and steeled veterans or viper commandos" it's "do you want more warbonds like polar patriots or viper commandos". Most people would say viper commando and I agree with that take. I will miss having more weapons, but frankly I just hope they spend more time making the weapons that are added actually worth it. We are all aware of the mess that the democratic demolition and polar patriots warbonds have been. Viper commandos is a more sustainable model that is ultimately better for the game because it has less weapons and stuff in it.
@@Cyberfreg Agree to disagree I guess, Vipers was the biggest disappointment in terms of Warbonds so I’m hard disagreeing with you. Polar patriots easily was my favorite in terms of drip and weapons and it was ranked last lmao
Cutting edge is the best in my opinion. The stun grenades are a game changer. All three primaries are very good in their specific roles. And sure The secondary is lackluster but can still have its uses and specific loadouts and once the aluminate comes out, the armor bonus is going to be a must-have because the aluminant do primarily Arc damage
@@mr.s9783I like the Sickle and used to run it all the time on bugs however I've now moved to the Breaker Incendiary for bugs and love it. It just shreds bugs to pieces.
Once I started using stuns, I haven't unequipped them for either of the factions almost at all. Also punisher plasma is my all time favourite qeapon against bots so cutting edge is definitely the best warbond imo
Yeah I was debating between polar patriots and cutting edge, buuuut I think imma pick up cutting edge to get said armor and stuns once I'm done with viper commando
With regards to the crossbow, its highlight is that when firing, it is silent, and the explosion draws enemy attention, making it the best primary in the game for stealth (which is a very viable strategy for automatons)
@@Foxtail190 yeah but this was the plan from the beginning. A live service game. They might throw a bone but you can also just grind super credits and buy any bond you want.
@@MacDibs I wish I could farm super credits but tbh I can barely bring myself to play the damn game lol. Shit is so annoying to play, especially without friends, you may as well return the game if you don’t have friends to play with. Also, considering you can spend money on those warbonds, I find it amusing how they’re the most “pay to lose” items I’ve ever seen in any video game. The devs themselves say they want you to rely on stratagems and not primaries or secondaries, which is what the bonds give you. And by golly were they right, after using the cutting edge weapons I can confirm that there’s only one decent weapon, and since it doesn’t have medium armor piercing it’s still useless lmao
@@Foxtail190 well I feel you about having a team. I've met some nice people playing with randoms though but you have to talk. Some of the warbond are less than thrilling. Also, some items are better suited against bots vs bugs. I do like that the higher difficulty requires teamwork though. Otherwise it's way to easy and there should be something for people that are not only willing and able to squad up but also be challenged while doing so. The most fun I've had was playing and struggling with friends covering each other, surviving and making it through to complete the objective using call outs and strategy. There is a upper limit to how many enemies can be on the map so they are going to have to stop making new difficulty levels at some point. The only way to make the game challenging and therefore interesting is by keeping the enemies threat level. There are a lot of systems to balance around as well, like accuracy of weapons while moving, injury accuracy, stamina, all while keeping the weapons themselves distinct. If everything is good then nothing feels different.
the knife is actually pretty good, I always run it vs bug now due to it ability to kill charger faster than you use a rocket. Chaff clearing main, greande pistol and knife then you can kill any enemy on the bug side, the knife can also stagger stalker like literally stun it and one shot them if you hit their head. pick true anti large support then you can deal with every enemy the bug throw at you.
I'm a crossbow main currently lol. I basically use it in place of the grenade pistol (since the crossbow is semi-auto, shoots farther and has more ammo than the grenade pistol), use a stun grenade/incendiary grenade, I bring heavy/medium machine gun or stalwart for chaff clear, most tank stuff in the game will die if you shoot out its back (chargers, hulks, tanks). I typically bring orbital precision strike/500kg, and orbital airburst strike for bug breaches and eagle airstrike for bots. I personally have a lot of fun with it and I've found it to be useful, I know people still do not like it but that's only more good news to me because if the community thinks it is weak it'll only get stronger! If it had the explosive radius of an impact grenade and was able to 1 shot Bile Spewers it would become viable IMO, it should realistically kill medium enemies with 1-3 shots. It has a great stagger and is useful for support builds. It has a enough damage that it should 1 shot Devastators in the head at least on paper, and there is a glitch where the damage from the explosion radius is not the same even though in the patch nots it said it would be. My Current loadouts Helldiver Bug Loadout: Crossbow, Bushwhacker, Stun Grenade/Incendiary Grenade Helldiver Bot Loadout: Crossbow/Dominator/Scorcher, Grenade Pistol/Senator, Stun Grenade Stratagem Bug Loadout: Heavy/Medium Machine Gun/Stalwart, Shield Pack/Supply Pack, Orbital Airburst Strike, Orbital Precision Strike/500kg Stratagem Bot Loadout: Heavy Machine Gun/Grenade Launcher/Autocannon, Shield Pack/Supply Pack/Autocannon Backpack, Orbital Precision Strike/500kg, Eagle Airstrike, 380 Barrage (if I take autocannon) Edit: I will occasionally bring out the Incendiary Breaker, however I think I have a justifiable fear that it will be nerfed in the near future. I also fear that the autocannon will be nerfed because it is so versatile and strong against the bots. Flamethrower I fear will also be nerfed so I am currently not playing it because I don't want to rely on "meta" builds if AH is just going to throw them in the trash.
I pretty much use the crossbow the same way. The two shorting bile spewers and one shorting devastators is just too good for me to not use this. Once you get good at aiming with it it’s a must have.
Best strat with the Tesla Tower: DON'T RUN INTO THE BIG POLE WITH BRIGHT LIGHTS. For real, just place it where the enemies are coming from and keep a lil distance, it's made to attract bugs, not Divers.... except if those divers are fascist traitors!
Drop pods are barely noticeable in the loading screen only, while the pelican is only at the end of each mission if you survive. I’d say they’re pretty niche and useless
@Foxtail190 maybe so. But I still think it's cool when I get on somebody's ship and the launch pods are orange. It's just nice to see things be different every once in a while
The dominator hits like a absolute truck against bugs and bots alike. Probably my favorite warbond weapon to date. It's just an absolute animal and I know it's a better bot weapon but man it destroys everything up to tyrants and stalkers alike. The only thing it's kinda useless against is the heaviest of bug enemies but by that time you have a rail/laser strata. Not to mention the sound design is just chefs kiss. I feel like I'm a god with that weapon and it's only draw back against anything is it's capacity for ammo because if you miss its a major thing. 6 clips totaling to 90 rounds can have you needing a reup on ammo pretty regularly. Otherwise it'll take care of every enemy in the game especially bots. It's just my go to primary. Although I might have to try the DD warbond weapons after this video. Having 2000 credits and in glad I found this video. I been saving them for too dang long. Thanks for the video and you've got my sub man.
"a decent boost to weapon handling and ergonomics" When this video came out this was a lie. Just a straight up lie. It did NOTHING. It has since been fixed and now provides an absolutely massive boost to handling, but at the time of this video it only increased melee damage by 50%.
So I don't think you will see this, but from what I can tell, acid does arc damage because while rocking the arc protection, with no shield, I was able to walk right through acid puddles without a lick of damage
Man, I really wish the Conduit perk had half of the Scout perk baked into it too, it's fitting imo to have an advanced radar or sight-blocking tech on such futuristic armors and it would at least make them do something other than reduce one rare type of friendly fire to you.
Steeled vets is pretty mid imo. Dominator and incend breaker are good but i kinda just dont like either. The gimp armors all look like shit to me and even with useless armor passives and a bad sidearm cutting edge is the one id recommend to newer players first. All the primaries rule. Stuns rule.
I'll argue your 5th and 4th! No way the Defender is "arguably better" than the Pummeler, and the viper armors showing skin would be arguably detrimental in helldiver's battlefield. The Pummeler is the best anti-stalker one handed weapon, which means it can be used while retreating without slowing down, making it really good against anything melee. The Bushwacker is cool, but still not better than the Redeemer or the goat Grenade Pistol. The Stim booster is the best though, agreed! but quantity wise it doesn't carry the warbond.
now after the new patch, DD Warbond become so good! that thermite bomb alone is a game changer now! can "one shot" any tanks, hulk, charger, even bile titan if you can throw it on its head. even if im not mistaken i've seen player throwing just 2 thermites on Strider's head and its dead!
Well VC is their 1st foray into vehicle skins so I think in that aspect not a bad start to a new feature of something, least they stayed on theme with it
For me, I think democratic detonation is my top pick. I always carry the pocket g launcher for bug holes and fabs, eruptor (ez headshots for devastators) or crossbow (wave clear) for bots and ajudicator (kills warriors, hunters and brood commanders fast, i come across them more often now and get killed by them a lot) crossbow (wave clear again) for bugs. I also always just switch around the three armor sets depending on my loadout and the passive I want, plus they all look really dope!
In my opinion, democratic demolition gets a major bonus for the thermite alone. I see it as far more useful than the stun grenade. Plus all the bonuses that the crossbow and armor got. It becomes better than cutting edge. I'm a much more chaotic player anyways so there's that aspect
I've got 50+ hours in the game and seem to have unlocked almost nothing! I made the mistake of spending a couple hundred credits v early on, before realising what they did, and now I still haven't got back to 1000 to buy even 1 other warbond. It's so frustrating how difficult they make them to unlock when there's sooooo much content hidden behind them. I guess they want me to buy the credits for real cash. But that's just a scummy feature of live service, imo.
I met a helldiver that used a program to key bind the stratagems to his mousr and keyboard. Corsair i believe was the company name. He said there was a program for it. Otherwise most use the arrow keys and have become very efficient with them
One simple way how I rank warbound is check the boosters and grenades, since arrowhead yet to do any “balances” on them. So war bound with the Stun Grenade is priority, then imo the stim booster (I love drugs), then impact incen. This is most future proof method since arrowhead keep nerfing guns that are well loved.
I disagree that if you’re down to 0 reinforcements that you probably won’t finish the mission anyway there has been plenty of times my team wasted reinforcements and I clutched up the timer multiple times to get them back in and finish the mission so it can be helpful for that if you are playing with ransoms that die a lot it’s useful even tho you won’t know that they are gonna die a lot before hand
I don’t even have to watch this let me save you guys the trouble, cutting edge carbons gives you two amazing weapons with infinite ammo, the sickle has infinite ammo as long as you don’t let it overcharge, great option against the automatons, and the arc blitzer is an electricity infinite ammo baby arc thrower, great for the bugs
Issue with every warbond: Steel veterans -liberator C. dps and overall power sucks Cutting edge -dagger dps overall power sucks but maybe im wrong -armor perks are kidda bad wont be useful at all in some matches Democratic detonation -crossbow have harsh times dealing with enemies but maybe im wrong (i think this weapon should get sharpnel instead of eruptor) Polar patriots -purifer is dogshit Viper commandos -liberator A. Is just faster shoting liberator wnich sucks -knife isnt good at all
Whoa sir. Cuncussive liberator is an excellent weapon for a support play style. Switch to semi auto and hang back a bit. Knocking hunters of your people or tripping a stalker up is gold on some high tire levels. And especially since for every less titan we're fighting an extra 4,305 hunters.. My liberty is hurt. My democracy is wounded! But hey to each their own 🤣
The Verdict does not look like a Desert Eagle, learn your guns, people. And be glad it's not a Desert Eagle, because despite its presence in movies and video games, it is a poor pistol.
lol the SubMachineGun Pummeler is the best Assault RIFLE, the Purifier aka False Advertisement (can't one shot a scout strider) would need its damage doubled to be worth using. The Eruptor is not a bolt action rifle its a semi-auto that fails to cycle rounds every time its also a lazy sack copy and paste of the dominator because they couldn't be bothered to move the action behind the ejection port where it should be. Arc Blitzer needs 15 more fire rate and not to hit ground assets and dead bodies.
As much fun as the Tenderizer is, and how good it feels to wield, I just don't think it's as much of a top tier weapon as people think it is; I think it is squarely a "mid" weapon in terms of effectiveness. I think that just comes down to its teensy magazine and assault rifles still being outclassed by snipers/shotguns/support weapons.
Lib Concussive Is actually decent for bugs as CC weapon. I stagger is on par with dominator and it knocks back the alphas to other side of the map. Far from useless.
There in nothing like the Unicorn gun or warbond but the cooperative multiplayer..people is making the same mistake going on Slayer mode and getting crushed just to say the game is a piece of junk..
