I think it’s good. Played it on console but would never purchase it on PC. The anti cheat they decided to use is problematic and I wouldn’t want it installed on my computer.
It’s so weird that x box owners keep comparing this to halo. Halo was nothing like this and if anything Helldivers is the anti halo. For years Sony tried to make a halo killer but what they needed to do is make fun of halo. In halo you play an unstoppable super soldier who trained his whole life and survives game after game. Helldivers are equally cool looking but train for on afternoon and then get die many times in the first mission. Helldivers looks at halo and makes fun of it. It is the anti halo.
I am in total agreement about the absurdity you have with your friends. I haven't laughed this hard at a Co-op shooter in a long time. This game sparks so much joy and I'm really proud of the Arrowhead team. I'll see you on the fields of Justice!
In higher difficulties, there's still a lot of interesting enemies & build options plus each planet is pretty different and the 2 factions (likely 3 soon) are very different. Another thing is that we SHOULD have constant new things and evolving enemies which hopefully will spice it up. I recommend it so far, but mostly just 10 hours in although I've only fought bugs and have barely half the loot
You can play it with any number of people, one, two, three or four. However, the game does not scale in difficulty with squad size. You are going to be forced to play on the easier difficulties if you're by yourself or with a smaller squad.
Not going to lie, I wasn't actually excited for this one. It is some mindless fun though. Not going to say it'll be one of my personal all time favorites, but I also can't say it's not great.
