Flamethrower is still insane for solo play vs bugs Hopefully this video will help you see a new light into easily extracting on helldiver difficulty Enjoy! Timestamps: #helldivers #helldivers2 #helldiver
I see this man soloing the hardest difficulty and it inspires me to fight harder for democracy. I can only solo suicide missions as of now but I will strive to do better. FOR LIBERTY!
I only play solo because lately randoms seem to for some reason leave their lobby on public but insta kick people before they even load into the game. Doesn't feel good to spend a minute in matchmaking, load halfway in, and get kicked before loading multiple times in a row
@@AceKing1428 I'm lvl 47 and i've been kicked from a couple games, only 1 time it wasn't before the game started. I think sometimes ppl forget to take off public MM if they only want to play with their friends but thats just my experiance
You wish you could turn off the guard dog because it's bad for stealth missions? Just don't bring it, lol. I'm certain there are other kits better for stealth if that's what you're going for.
@@gabzsy4924just feels like a waste of the developers time when they could be fixing other issues in the game. The guard dog as a tool is not meant for stealth missions, so it should not be used for stealth missions. You are already not taking much risk fighting bugs or terminids while sneaking around, so you shouldnt need a guard helping you melt enemies on top of that playstyle.
Nice run dude. That recovery from 37.30 was insane - GG! Also really glad you had commentary for this one - it’s great to hear you talk through your decision making process. Keep them coming please.
Totally agree. This guy has a very chill way of speaking and his voice is pretty calming. I also like that he says why he is doing different things and actually comments on stuff happening around him.
If each bug breach call summons a Charger and a Bile Titan that means you'll have 2 Chargers and 2 Bile Titans on two bug breach signals I think it depends on the mission/planet too. I think this Helldive run would have gone very differently had he faced Bile Spewers.
he literally explained why. He doesn't let the reinforcement for bug breaches get called off. "It's a good thing thise reinforcements didn't go off or that would've been very bad". Direct qoute 1:40 in the video. He literally explains why.
One of the biggest mistake of most helldivers is just shooting everything they see. If you keep aggroing the map you have more chances for more bug breaches. Moreover the developers said that using stratagems actually pings the map with sounds and brings patrols towards your location. So the more you fight the more fight you bring back to you.
@@dankbonkripper2845 I think your timing is off. The breach at 1:40 does spawn a titan and he doesn't say that. However, his other breaches do not spawn titans. At one point, he had 3 breaches active. Still no titans. That is a massive difference from how my, and assumedly sermegas, bug breaches behave.
Good stuff my guy! Regarding the voice-overs: While all your videos are essentially extended montages, with the addition of live commentary they become the best solo guides out there. This is because we get to see you explain and demonstrate your concepts at the same time. Even as someone who is comfortable with the game, I still enjoy hearing someone articulate things that I had only intuited until now.
Definitely got way more out of this commentary episode than all the "tips & tricks" of most other videos. Not only `what,` & `how.` but also `when.` Great video!
Commentary was useful. Just started myself so nowhere close to unlocking the necessary tools. This really helps not just showing that solo helldive bugs is possible, but how to do it. Thanks c:
15:10 somehow a single cluster bomb got separated and fell down slower than the rest and further away, its either a quirk of this stratagem or something funky happened like the cluster bomb ricocheting off of something or the other explosions propelled it further lol.
Wow good catch. I thought he got hit in the back and his backpack exploded but if you slow it down to 0.25x speed you can actually see the rogue sub-munition.
A pretty good tip about the mech is that you don't have to waste ammo on small stuff like the mini hunters, scavengers, or the super tiny bile spitters, you can just step on those and save the ammo for warriors and stuff
Melee is bugged. Sometimes it doesn’t work. Plus there’s that really stupid bug where you can blow yourself up with your own missile if you turn and fire a certain way.
awesome vid!!! preffer to hear you its like answering questions popping out of my mind seeing your play at the same time yeah lots of great info and tactics great work
I used to love the flamethrower and it’s still a lot of fun, but once you master the arc thrower… you can’t go back. It one shots hunters, one shots warriors, two shots hive guards, two shots the mini chargers (forgot the name). Admittedly it’s not the best against the other bugs like the stalker, but I just use the punisher for those because the knock back from the shots interrupts the stalker so they’re like a deer in headlights, and the chargers it takes 6 shots to the head from the arc thrower so if you shoot then 3 times while they charge them three times after they’re dead in like 10-15 seconds. I think it does some damage to bile titans but I wouldn’t recommend using just the arc thrower against it. But yeah it’s very helpful and fun to use
Bro I absolutely loved this. Learned literally way more from this than and other"tutorial". You're chill, informative, skilled and humble. Earned my sub
Love the video. You should definitely keep posting vids like these with commentary. I personally don't mind at all and it makes your videos MUCH more interesting to watch.
22:05 is spot on. I always say that dealing with a single breach isnt that hard if you have some help or group up and kill it and that you then have way less to deal with later on. If you run off after 2 titans spawn and do the main obj which spawns another 2 titans and then leave that and trigger another breach at a secondary for another 2 titans you now have like 6 titans on the map which is now actually hard to deal with but if you just fought them when they spawned it wouldnt have been that bad.
Hence why we keep getting clips of people with multiple bile titans, they just keep triggering breaches and keeping them on the field so then they can upload a video saying "the update ruined the game"
@@BoojaxDenemies that spawn from a breach in fact despawn after a couple of minutes. Technically you only need to kill the monsters that guard the objectives naturally.
Why in every helldiver difficulty game do I get a bile titan with every single bug breach. And you've only had 1.....though you Dispatch even those quickly. Good freaking run. I solo helldive but only with main objectives. And without leaving alive haha. This actually taught me a lot
Thanks for the tips, narrated runs are a great idea to be honest. I've learned a lot of small details that i've missed so far. For instance, I always used meds when i was on fire, now i can keep them for better occasions :P I still struggle on difficulty 7, i will try face the problem face-on more and see if this helps, thanks!
Thanks for posting this. Very informative and inspiring! I appreciate the commentary: It explains your actions and strategies and at times adds some humor (“always prioritize hunters…aaaggh!”). Thanks very much, it was a real pleasure watching you solo this mission. Also, the input on the flamethrower was also helpful!
Great video dawg, impressive how you play calm and collected whilst also talking about your tips and tricks over the entire course of the video. Learned a lot from this, thanks.
I am so grateful for your channel and videos man. Watching you play and listening to your commentary is so enjoyable and your tips and approaches have made me a much better player. I just did my first lvl. 6 automaton solo op and it went really smooth. I had so much fun and can't wait to do more with bugs and bots. You've inspired me to not give up the fight for democracy. O7
Whenever I am not playing Helldivers 2 I'm probably watching your videos since you actually make it entertaining to just watch you play the game as you commentate about it.
Quick tipp: any dropped supply strategem kills bug holes. Shield pack flamethrower sos supply just drop in right in front of the hole and it will kill it.
Commentary is strangely soothing even though you’ve killed dozens of bugs every minutes. Justice has been delivered! Have you ever thought about using Cerberus instead of shield gen for small swarms controls and chemical strikes instead of eagle strike for the lasting AOE effect on bugs breach? I play this varient and it works pretty well too.
32:23 the Hunters are so lethal that even with a shield it feels like the tiniest missplay is instant death. The missplay was he had his flamethrower out for a fraction of a second too long.
New hunters are bullshit, they jump way further than before, they attack fast, have quite a big range for their "melee" attack and have venom in their attack.
He does have some of the weakest armor in the game on. It’s good to be mobile but you’re not out maneuvering hunters while they’re flying at you. It’s good to have some better armor on JUST for them and giving you the chance of surviving a stalker ambush
Great video, and instructions. Currently on challenger and learning as I go. Shotgun has so much AP. Someone said about the flamethrower is not good, but it looks good here to me.
Seeing this gameplay makes me even more convinced that the energy shield backpack is 100% required in higher difficulties against bugs. Having any stray hits from the dozens of enemies that surround you slow you heavily is completely unnecessary and annoying, and very often a death sentence. In the maps with the green little guys that spit on you and slow you its even worse.
I didn't realize that there were many others who enjoy playing solo Helldive difficulty. As a fellow solo Helldiver, I have a helpful tip to share: choose to drop onto extraction, and make sure to immediately call in a supply drop. This is very useful when you extract, as you will have one supply drop to take with you, and usually one more waiting for you when you return. ;)
You can take out spore spewers with a mag on the breaker to the stem of the spore instead of using your nades. Then you would have had enough to clear that nest without having to resupply.
I have no idea how you solo helldive dude, your gameplay looks nothing like ours. We have a 4 man team struggling on suicide, literally multiple chargers on initial landing getting swarmed by hunters, spewers and stalkers before we’ve even called in our specials. It’s honestly nuts. Dunno if we’ve just been unlucky or what but damn it feels so rough every time we dive 🤦🏻♂️
Have you tried the auto cannon? If you time it right you can two shot chargers on their back leg while they turn around after a charge. Doesn't allow for the shield tho, but it's nice to have a 3rd stratagem. I've been running 500kg, air strike or cluster, and orbital rail cannon with the auto cannon.
About the “less bugs in your games” I can understand the comments as even as low as difficulty 4, as soon as I clear a patrol even with no breach, a second patrol pops up and shows up in seconds. I always thought it was due to using stratagems to clear the patrols (use strafing run a lot solo) but seeing you use clusters and still getting a moment to breathe before another patrol shows up nixes that theory. I believe it is the armor. If you aren’t wearing light armor, you never get a moment’s peace.
you can destroy spore mushrooms with any weapon from miles away... it maybe cost more then one magazine, but is a huge advantage, not having to go close to it. You just have to aim the glowing part under its hat. Also if you hold down the space button, you can climb many things that by only holding down shift your character wont... I dunno about the controller layout for this.
are we playing the same game or is their health really low on solo? It takes me like a full clip of the flamethrower to take out a charger when playin with friends basically every charger takes 80-90% of a clip of it to take down 1 and when I use orbital laser they eat like 70% of the laser duration
Nice guide, I'll play next helldive with your advice in mind... But why there was not a single spewer (or they were that rare I didn't notice them)? They tend to be a bit tanky even if you aim for their head and there are usually 2-3 of them in a patrol. Also their ranged attack pattern forces you to dive sideways making you vulnerable to smaller bugs. (And their artillery attack is annoying AF) Chargers and BTs do mainly appear from breaches but spewers tend to be all over the place on their own. Of course they don't completely ruin the mission but they make its completion harder. Are there any conditions that make them spawn less/not spawn on higher difficulties like in your case?
There are different types of enemies spawns on planets. Some planets or missions have the green skewers, some have the yellow spewers. In the video you see the planet with more hunters and pouncers
Great vid!!! I personally like using the Arc thrower since it 1-2 shots all the bugs except the charger which takes like 9 shots and bile titan takes like 20+ shots. Also with the Arc thrower you can charge it only halfway to basically double the fire rate, so it becomes much better
Also has a bug with coop . PC player with Ark thrower can 2 shot bile titans if they have PS5 teammate . Same bug works on Railgun (and is probably why it got nerfed)
I dont get it? The 4 difficulty 4-6 missions i played yesterday all had instant bug armies, flying bugs, and 2-3 chargers spawn inmediately on drop in even trying to drop in the clearest area of the map? Way more roaming patrols too. Is difficulty by mission just conpletely random?
Nice learned a lot, thank you. In return, I would like to share something u missed. Since this game has no ballistic system and mechanical is shallow as a puddle, u can destroy spore spewers even with breaker shotgun from other side of the map, yeah takes 2-3 clips but it's safe and best done near point of interest that u found tone of spare ammo etc. Look around see spore spewer far in the distance = unload and done. This game is wide as an ocean and shallow as a puddle ;) also about bug breaches closing them and the bugs buildup... whatever comes out the breach when u run away and they loose aggro they walk back to where breach was and DESPAWN so no need to clear swarms that came out the breaches just run. Proof is ez take jump pack and 200x zoom antimaterial rifle, ticckle patrol, get breach, run breakblike of sight jetpack to nice rock, lie down and zoom in 200x and watch their behavior.
10:25 - 10:33 Sick aiming dude. I'm glad you're fighting on the human side. Edit: In regards to prioritizing hunters, there's nothing more satisfying than seeing an ally getting overran by them and saving their bacon. They're pretty easy targets when they're going for someone else lol
When I start a map by dropping into the evac site, I always throw down a resupply, so it's there when I evac. Usually, the cool down goes down by the time I have to use it afterwards.
When you explained to dive over the water at the Stalker nest, you can actually just hug that wall when you run, and you basically run straight across the water without losing speed
Roughly on the 15min mark you died duw to Explosion. I've had this happen to me as well when using stratagems. I have made sure i have enough distance to not get hit, after the explosion when i enter the targeted area i die. This does not happen all the time but pretty consistently for it to be a bug and not a skill issue, and of course i have offed myself with stratagems multiple times, those are on me. On the note of bugs (hehe pun intended)Bile Titans have a weird collision/hitbox after they die. If you approach their corpses the game flips and your character gets rubberbanded upwards and then killed by impact, weird stuff. But regardless of the bugs i really love Helldivers 2. It's really fun, most fun i've had in a video game with my friends in a while now.
The one thing stopping me from actually doing diff 7-9 solo is Chargers. Even when I dive to the side, they just do a 180 with such a tight turn radius that I get hit anyways. Its genuinely unrealistic how tight their turn radius is mid charge. I attempted this strat 3 times and failed each time, so I decided that it isn't for me. People can say skill issue all they want, I don't care. Chargers shouldn't have such a tight turn radius mid charge.
It's not just you man. They turn and just poke you with their legs. You can see this happen in the video, to variating results. Sometimes you get hit very hard even if it has come to a halt and is just stepping around you, sometimes not at all. Not a fan of playing against them and the whole obscure knowledge of hitting their legs is something the game never onboarded me about so it's been a terrible experience until now.
Hey takibo! I realized you're using a cluster bomb which I do for ad-clearing as well, a nifty little trick you can do is throw it on the ground while facing perpendicular to the wave behind you, then dodging at the last second. The cluster bomb would run along parallel with the wave, and I usually get about 20x kills doing it like this. Hope this helps :)
25:15 "we don't want to run into objective while these peoples are alive...I mean, these bugs are alive" Hold on champ, you almost admitted to your past war crimes there for a second 😂😅
When crossing the corner over the water by the stalker nest (At about 8 minute mark), just run diagonally against the wall and you can sprint across the gap reliably.
Um....this is nuts...61% accuracy is crazy. I play a lot of level 6 stuff and we routinely get about 10-15 bile titans per run...lol...yeah. This loadout is good for solo, I dunno if I would do it with a team though, just on the sheer number of heavies that get spawned out of bug holes.
About using the Flamethrower against bugs, you could burn the ground and catch a few bugs on fire while you're kiting them. You can also directly burn them while setting the ground on fire, supposedly stacking the DPS and DoTs. About the Arc Thrower, depending on how soon you see the Charger and shoot at it from afar, the time to kill from there is about the same. I mean, you have to wait for it to get close to use the Flamethrower against it. Meanwhile, you're probably also arcing the little bugs around the Charger, so there's a good chance that even if it does get close, you would have had it isolated. Also, if you're able to always keep your distance from all bugs, you may never have to switch to your primary/secondary while using the Arc Thrower. About the Hunters, the best way to deal with them is to hit them before they can get close. Try using the Jump Pack - you can keep distance. You don't need the shield if you don't get hit.
After seeing this comment, I need to give the jump pack a go! I've been meaning to try the jump pack w/arc thrower strart on the bugs to see how it would work because those stun lock hits can get you swarmed way too quickly.
does the radar station appear on every bug mission ? i find myself wasting time runing to each corner of the map to complet side obj ^^ . good video !!! i personnally reverted back on 8 after the annemy spawn rate and speed buff will try again on 9 later ;D
Great tips and gameplay. Have no idea how you were able to pick out that radar station at the beginning very well done. Everything looks the same to me lol.
