Helldivers 2 - Get 68 Samples in 17 minutes (Helldive Solo) 

When the dominator takes down enemies quicker than the rail gun, you know the rail gun is completely busted.

I prefer this farming method on bots vs bugs. Admittedly I'm playing on suicide not helldive. It never feels like I can get away from the bugs, they'll chase me to the ends of Super Earth where the bots feel like you can consistently lose or distract them. As rage inducing as getting stun locked by random rockets is I'll still take it over getting combo'd and chain slowed by those fucking hunters.

4:50 not only did they add extra dropships for bots and multiple spawns during bug breaches, but they also changed certain elite enemy seeds that differ per mission, such as Heavy/Rocket Devastators or Bile Spewers or just enourmous amounts of Tanks and Titans. That alone turns enemy reinforcements from a nuissance into a real threat to mission success, especially since bot drops can now spawn Factory Striders.

Can they not just make a scientific survey mission with the sole purpose of collecting samples. have it be like a normal survey mission but the collector takes up the backpack slot. You drop the collection station, put the pack in it, defend, collect pack. Do this three times and extract with pack. Also just thought of a better, more suited to helldivers, kind of mission. Inspired by warframe of all things. How about simply repurposing the defend the base mission to be "Cause a distraction while a lone Helldiver raids the area for samples". Finishing the mission gives a guaranteed 30 normal, 20 rare and 6 super rares. This way sample collection becomes its own thing while still allowing for collection when in the original missions. So if all you want are samples. You can get them without sabotaging other players.

My personal experience recently have been Bug Breaches spawning full tsunamis of Hunters and Wilburs instead of Warriors, Broods and Spewers meanwhile Bot Drops are the opposite, bringing in the Hulks, Devastators way more often than Berserkers and light units. I play mostly Tier 7 missions throughout the week with full squad Tier 9 missions on weekends.

Brought 2 friends to play trios this weekend doing tier 9 defense missions to showcase this sample farming, they were shocked not only with the research boost achieved but also the incredible ammount of super credits this method provides, we got bout 450 SC in a few hours, Goated way to play Defense Major Orders. 👍

I tried this and instantly got obliterated by bot drops 😂

Help me understand why there are so few bots on your map? I've never played above level 7 with so few bots! They seem to just dissapear, you don't run into patrols...what's the secret, what are I and every team I'm on missing to get such empty maps?

Thank you so much! I was farming my rare samples in solo blitz missions, but this is literally twice as fast!

the laser cannon is the fastest way to kill gunships, it also does melt hulks and devastators in the weakspot but depending on terrain hitting the hulk in it for the needed time while its barreling towards is another story. when i run with a squad or randoms i always pick the laser but if solo i'll use something else. (when facing automatons)

14:36 it's funny how you can get MORE samples than is shown

In my experience the samples shown when you hit the map button are samples that are out in the open, the purple ores in rocks, the flowers, the black crystals etc. However the Rare samples you get from the blinking supply ships and the cargo containers do NOT count toward the total, so you can get more samples than the total shown if you clear all poi's, Bases and Objectives and get rare samples from inside the blinkies and the crates, like how in the video he got 31 out of 30 rare samples - he got every rare sample on the map plus one from a cargo crate. The base that has the Essential Personnel tends to have a few Common Samples as well, the most I've gathered from the base alone I got around 6 Commons on top of the rest I got from the other edges of the map - and this was on difficulty 7.

I still appreciate this work, I wish I could explain half as well as you do. But also don't forget to take breaks when you can. Hey Dough, what's your opinion on defense campaigns? Do you feel like they're overtuned or just right? I feel as if they're meant to fail especially if you have multiple at a time by how hard it is to outpace the enemy.

For those that understand the strategy better than I do.... what's the plan behind tossing a shield generator but running right through it and continuing on? Do the bots get distracted by it? Does it block them because they blindly try to follow you through it?

Word on the bot drop. Even in Suicide Missions you will get 3-4 bot drops in each POI, and multiple waves as well. It did not use to be like that. When I was farming in Extreme difficulty, I get 1-2 bot drops AT MOST, and POIs are pretty chill most of the time.

What do you have the stratagem arrows set to since it's not wasd? Do you take your hand off mouse to use the regular arrow keys? I wonder if setting it to rdfg or something so you can use just your index finger makes sense

Laser cannon does big things, impressed all my friends when bringing it on one of these missions HOWEVER, TTK on hulks and devastators the rail gun has it beat, heavy things like tanks and cannon turrets almost nothing beats it, its like a a second and a half, but with hulks your sway their sway and such a small hit box its takes me personally, like most of the heat sink to kill but it can do it

I've only recently discovered your channel, and have to say, enjoying the content so far! I have a kinda weird question for you though if you see this. My aiming/camera feels super sluggish compared to yours and I'm curious what your sensitivity settings are and if you changed them any from default. I changed mine some but the slider is kind of absurd...

I've been rocking that look for as long as I can remember, that helmet goes really well with that armour :D I know light armour is better but mans gotta look fly.

Do you have some kind of tactic to finding (or landing, as you did here) right next to the Super Samples? I know they always spawn near that specific rock, but did you have of knowing where that was right from the start?

why aren't you using dominator against devastors?

Do you also feel like they nerfed stealth? Like you get spotted instantly whereas, before, they would only be drawn to your last known location?

Try the laser! Stun grenade, shield backpack, grenade pistol, and your primary choice! Works good for the bots!

Railgun 1 taps striders if you shoot at the armour plate protecting the rider instead of the midsection, btw

if you return from mission do you keep the samples or do you need to successfully extract?

How did you one shot the factory strider with eagle airstrike at around 3:00? Did you just get lucky that the strider was orientated the same direction as the eagle? That's what it looks like. But I have called 2 in on them before and hit at least a couple bombs with both and still not killed them.

I thought they patched this. Everytime I’ve dropped it’s only been green samples at the base and that’s it.

Some times when I use the Dominator or Slugger I feel like I have no idea where my bullets go. I’ll be directly on target and just not hit my targets. Anyone else have this problem?

Ive absolutely noticed the bots getting harder, i played almost exclusively bots from lvl 1-30 and once factory striders and gunships were added it felt like everything else was also cranked up to 11, so so so many rocket devs now 😭

Jump backpack can help your heavy slow ass get away quickly from objectives and following bots

I don’t know if it’s just me but when you have your map zoomed out all the way and start scrolling around the map you can find POI’s because it will say “POI” as if you already discovered it

How did you get the samples counter on the top right of the screen, I enabled all hud elements in the game options but the counter is still not showing up, even when I pick up a sample. It is a bug or am i missing smth?

I'm such an idiot...it never occurred to me that you can still extract if you don't complete the mission.

I think they nerfed the Guard Dog Rover, mine was shooting the ground more than it was shooting enemies last night

I love thermites, i find their damage isn't that great but hoo boy they spark joy when they blow haha its nice to see high difficulties using it too :D

5:30 occasionally one of those guys will spawn with a metric fuckload of health, it's rly weird and it's very rare. Afaik it's intentional on the devs part

Honestly I personally wouldn't mind you making content around new/other games Just cuz I love the "yap shesh"/"studying the hell into a game content" you do :3 you're grounded/real and it's kinda hard for me to say that about some youtubers now. (but with that please don't cutoff your helldivers content Dough)

They dial up ever nob and lever instead of adjusting for one specific enemy. In case of the Heavy Devastator its accuracy is through the roof across the map

How do I prevent things from spotting me the second I drop down and locking me into prolonged combat? I dropped into an area with zero enemies and still got immediately thrown into combat somehow.

God I don't understand how it seems like there are so few enemies on this mission..... when I do these it seems like there are just ARMIES. But is it because you're ignoring the actual objective?

When sprinting, always switch to secondary. You run faster.

Thoughts on the medium scout armor for PoI finding vs bots?

Can you farm the samples while completing the main objective?

Do you simply play Helldivers 24/7?

They need to give the heavy armor a little buff. Maybe higher damage melee with better knockback. The extra 1 hit you can take often doesn't feel worth it compared to such low stamina.

You can just aim for the Devastator's legs or the crotch, even with Railgun that's one shot and Jar is 2-3 shots, makes it a bit easier

Oh yeah, bot drops send in like 4 or 5 of them at once now, even if all players have something to take them down you gotta know who's aiming at which one or it's now a guarantee at least 2 are gonna make ground fall
