Ps5 controllers have a dedicated button that turns the mic on and off already but the rest were very good tips, especially the quick grenade. I had no idea about that
As a PC player, apparently no PS5 player knows that because they always have their mic on the entire match and use speakers so we hear everything a second time with a delay. I asked a guy to turn his mic off and he said it was and I said I could hear myself echo after talking and he left the match.
Push to talk is kind of pointless on console considering the controller has a mute button already. It also gives you an indicator on screen when pressed. That being said, quick throw is something I'll be rebinding as soon as I boot up the game again. Good vid.
I've been playing for about 350 hours, and a Quick Grenade option is just what I've always wanted (I'm on PS5). I've also switched to Push-To-Talk. The dedicated button on the DualSense is nice, but is somewhat inconvenient. PTT will make a world of difference. Thanks, man! This has truly changed the way I play for the better!
Quick grenade for controller is by far the GOAT in this list. Cannot believe they are hiding that from console players and leaving it completely unbound. 250 hours I went without quick grenade! 250 hours!
@@DrauulGaming I've only gone 150 but I feel your pain now... Now that I'm thinking about it... I might actually assign weapon selection to different Dpad directions, quick grenade to right bumper, and ping to R3.
This is incredible from someone who has played hundreds of dives. I learned so many new things to do in game. Full like, comment, AND subscribe worthy (for democracy).
On PC, rebind your stratagem inputs to the arrow keys so you can use your right hand to input them while still using your left on shift-wasd to run around
@@DrauulGaming I had resigned myself to double clicking R3 to bring up text chat, typing on my keyboard and then returning to my controller. (Or being on discord with my friends) Truly the worst set up imaginable
Learning that dpad is mostly unused has been a god send. I’ve been desperate trying to rework my controls so melee isn’t R3 and I think I’ve finally found a viable layout for that. Thx.
I put the switch camera sides on the left stick (L3) so I can keep my fingers on the sticks at all times. Also you don't need push to talk on the PS5, you can just mute your mic from the controller.
Don’t use the D-pad to change camera sides. You can’t sprint while ADS so make it L3 like every other 3rd person shooter. Not sure why it’s not that way by default. Works like a charm.
I rebound stratagem inputs to face buttons. It's totally doable. You have to change the default actions for those buttons to double tap or long press, so that's a little annoying, but small price to pay for being able to input strats with my R thumb while running around.
@@DrauulGaming I also have a controller with back buttons so that probably helps, since I can double tap and long press without taking my thumb off the R stick. I switched from MnK to controller recently and doing the strats on the Dpad was just awful lol
I am so glad to hear that. Truly was my hope that I would introduce unknown features to veteran players. I would love for anyone who finds any of these tips particularly useful to share their favorite timestamp on reddit or the discord.
@@DrauulGamingI just tried some out on ps5 and stumbled over some problems. Firstly for shoulder switch, It doesn't work in the exosuit, probably because there is no zooming? Any hints? Secondly for opening the map only while pad pressed, since I use it with my right thumb I cannot select anything with X anymore. Also some hints how you handle that?
Stratagems should be mapped to arrow keys for faster input. Bonus, if your keyboard allows macros, use them and assign them to the 6 keys (insert, del, home, end, pgup, pgdn) always have reinforce on pgup and supplies on pgdn, and the last four for stratagems.
Some of these control options do make me want to tear my hair out at times. The backpack function in particular is so strange. It only affects the ammo supply backpack. Not the jumppack is space and you cannot change it. My space bar has been my dive key for 100+ hours at this point and I don't intend to change it anytime soon. I actually really like the dynamic mode. tested it real quick and it just feels natural. I just had it off because I had no idea what it did. Probably will stick to it from now on. The quick grenade not being binded for consoles is pretty funny. I didn't know you could equip the grenade manually until like 50+ hours in so I guess I ended up on the opposite side of the stick.
On quick grenade some grenades may require you to hold for a few seconds before throwing in order to time the impact correctly. when you press right on the dpad can you still hold it before you throw or will it just automatically throw it every time.. haven't tried it yet.
@@evanbaxter5509I don't run around with my hands in "the claw" all game, but I do use it a few times a match in tough spots where I can't stop moving.
Unfortunately not, but I did take it as a challenge to see how low of a level I could unlock Helldive difficulty exclusively with randoms. I believe I was level 12 but it could be done sub 10.
You will find this option under options Me:*surprised Pikachu face* Just kidding lol Honestly though, for other divers out there, don't sleep on motion controls if you have the option, it's not quite as good a mouse and keyboard but it is leagues ahead of stick aiming only. It just takes a little time to adjust and keep in mind that the motion should just be for small movements and corrections, not big sweeping gestures and it makes aiming so much more accurate. I run a sniper build most of the time and gyro aiming allows me to use a controller and maintain quick accuracy.
I hunger for pc lol, it really is more intuitive, my best optimized on console controls is decent but I sometimes still nade myself when looking at the map while running, I zoom with R1 then I run on a small bump, map turns off and I quick grenade myself. For consoles my tip aside from the quick grenade is to move that to R1, using R1 just for ping is too much. I put my ping on R3 same as melee so I ping when I melee lol, but just aim and ping so you don't melee. Also the push to talk thing, just keep it on and turn on your mic on the controller if you want to talk and turn it off after you talk, it is more simple, it's just the button below the controller speaker and ps button, lights on means it's off, lights of means it's on.
Content creation issues. I thought it would be smoother to create content on PC. Then I found my PC couldn't handle everything I was throwing at it (multiplatform streaming, multisource recording, all at the same time while playing). So I found that picking up a capture card for a psuedo dual system setup has been ideal, offloading the game workload to the console and the content logistics to the PC.
On PS5, is there a way to resupply yourself when wearing the resupply backpack? Or can you only resupply team-mates? Excellent info and easy to follow instructions 👌
Quick grenade is terrible. Instead do this. Tap L1 for stratagems instead of hold. Tap L1 for switch shoulders while aiming. long hold L1 to select grenade. Right on D Pad to secondary or support weapon Tap Triangle to select primary. Hold triangle to select secondary or support. I prefer hold as secondary. I'm appalled at how many videos say yes quick grenade on right d pad instead of just L1 to pick grenade.
I remapped by stratgem input to ny arrow keys. It was either not be able to move but aim. Or not be able to aim but move. Best decision i ever made. Beats doving frantically trying to input them in thay dive window
