When we first hit the Creek we were eager and confident. A few sentries beeping that nonsensical noise they make, a few easy kills, pop a 500kg on the first target. High fives all around. Then a red light shone in the smoke of the crater, and another, and another, a walker, a tank, a half a hundred basic tin cans. Our biggest swing outta the gate at our very first target and all we did was shake a hornet's nest. We fell back and Johnson was the first to notice, the noises weren't random, they were *chanting*. We'd been through worse so we kept mobile, moved towards the ridge. Taylor went first for recon and as soon as she crested the ridge she screamed to call for evac. I remember wondering why, sure we were outnumbered from the rear, but we were Helldivers, we maneuver, we persevere. I saw pair of em rocket up to her, coming from over the ridge in front of us... past... through her. A wet grunt was all she made as she separated into pieces. Gonzalez though, he had good instincts... well, in war anyway, had 3 kids to 3 different women if you can believe it. Anyway he called for the evac before she even finished the warning. *takes a sip of whiskey, the glass held so tightly in the prosthetic that it might shatter*. Imagine how joyful we were to see the evac blazing in just seconds after we called, shoulda realized how nonsensical that was, we couldn't fully see it from the trees but the red light... the chant... it wasn't our evac... I'm sorry pal, I gotta cut this short, I... I can't

I remember my first day on the Creek. Dropped in, grabbed some AT and started hitting factories. I thought I was hot shit until the bots were coming through the trees, the place was lit up with incoming fire and the only things I could hear was gunfire, explosions, robotic chanting and screaming. One of my teammates got cut to pieces by berserkers. The next got blown apart by a rocket meant for me and the last guy hunkered down with me in a dugout as I struggled to call in a strafing run as my hands shook. Managed too finally call it in but it landed too close, the blast knocked us out of shelter and into the bots line of fire. I got just long enough to see him get mowed down by a platoon of devastators before I had to run to cover again. I was the only one to reach evac. I signaled the ship and hid behind boxes and corpses from the patrols until the eagle arrived to take me home. I've been back to that Creek more times then I can count. The men we lost for that Creek and the things we've seen on that Creek won't, CAN'T be forgotten. We died before we left that damned planet. Remember the Creek

Malevelon was the greatest moment of HD2. When everyone had starry eyes, nerfs weren't really a thing, and it just felt like an awesome experience. Remember Malevelon folks, remember Malevelon.

Hey pal, I reckon that since you're joining the Helldivers, you're finally old enough to learn what happened to your dad. Your old man and I were also Helldivers way back when. Enlisted together and got into the same unit. We were so young... sweet Liberty, we were young. Young and stupid and overconfident. We knew we were the best of the best, that's what it took to be a Helldiver, but no amount of training could have prepared us for the Creek. Our first weeks as a team were spent fighting the Terminids, bounced around the frontlines spilling their green guts. It was a cakewalk. I suppose that's what helped feed our egos. One day, we get stationed at the Creek. By this point we heard tales of the Bots, sure, but our unit figured they were just stories, that this battle would be no different than what we saw fighting the Bugs. They were not just stories. I don't remember what the objective was, guess it doesn't matter much now, but the start was similar. As we fell in our pods we were joking back and forth. We laughed all the way down to impact. We went about demolishing the bots as we were ordered, but things weren't so easy all the way through... Eventually, one of those tin cans fired a flare into the sky and suddenly we were being fired at from every concievable direction. Explosions rang out from their grenades, dust was kicked up and we couldn't see the attackers. All we saw were red lights. Dropships flew in and dispensed even more of those metallic fascists on us. We were swarmed by them. The first of us to fall was our sergeant, Davenport. More dust choked the air, it seemed like the very trees were shooting us. After Davenport went down, your dad and I got behind cover. The cadet we were assigned with wasn't so lucky... a rocket hit the poor guy at center mass and evaporated him... Me and your father called airstrikes, orbital bombardments. Bot after bot fell but they kept coming. We called for immediate extract and defended the LZ, from the dust and smoke, this massive automaton with chainsaws for hands appeared and rips into your dad. I see this and swing my rifle around to kill the bastard robot before I get winged by a laser. Our pilot flies in and covers me long enough to drag your dad, my brother, into the troop transport in the back. I... hell... there was so much blood. We tried to stablize him but the wounds were too big, too deep. He bled out in my arms, made me promise to take care of you and your mom... Your dad would be proud of you, kid. Wear that cape with pride and go give 'em hell.

Fun fact: In the original helldivers (which as of right now is only 4 dollars because its 80% off) Malevelon Creek was considered an easy level

The incredible thing is that this is no cutscene nor special effects, its JUST the gameplay that looks this EPIC!!!

looking back, I am honored to say that I was part of the galactic war's biggest moments. Its hard really to think this was only 4 months ago. I am now retired, but I am so proud that I got to fight on frontiers such as malevelon creek, and do many great deeds on planets alike. Thinking back to then, I remember something that keeps me up at night. We were so ignorant and unprepared for the war. I have lost so many friends, and made many at the same time. Such a weird thing this war is. To the valiant helldivers that are still our there fighting - may liberty guide you safely back home to Super Earth.

Personally I was not at malevelon creek but have much respect for fellow helldivers

I got helldivers2 a little over a month ago, and I managed to get my 3 friends to do so too and we always have a blast playing, now of course we missed out on malevelon creek, but i do kinda hope it gets attacked. All these vets are saying it's hell, but i don't believe any of em, the robots don't know us helldivers. If as much as a single dropships lands in the creek, we *will* spill oil again

Got the game on the first of June had it downloaded on the second. Been dispensing managed democracy for a couple months now, wish I could have been at malevolen Creek

By the time I got signed up, the Creek was firmly in Super Earth's control, as it should be. A lot of good divers are buried there. My brother-in-law... He's there. He spilled oil. And I didn't get to dive with him. I can't fix that wrong. I can't avenge him in any meaningful way. What I can do is stand vigil and make sure it never happens again. Never again will the machines rule over Malevelon Creek. Never. Again.

Theres something so sweet about the soldiers of tomorrow listening to old 1970's music while fighting. It shows that no matter how old music is it will always come back one way or another.

The Creek is but a memory now. All the pain, all the ammunition, all the brave souls who gave their lives to take that hellhole. We've done it, we've won. The bots were decimated. They're in other sectors now. But with every dive, with every new planet, I cannot help but feel the yearning. The jungle. The night. The tearing of metal. It left its mark. And despite it all, despite the terror and the suffering and the horror and the failure, I cannot help but want to go back. You say we go the The Creek to die. We go to The Creek to live.

I remember when i first started playing my friends were all like level 30 and they all insisted that we went to the creek… I came back changed…

Malevelon creek was the first battle I deployed to I was so confused.

Rest in piece for those who died in Malevelon Creek 🙏

It was meant to be a simple ammo destruction mission, nothing special. Then they started coming, over and over. One hulk, then two. Barrages of bullets falling upon us. I saw my squad get hunted down, seperated, the only thing I could do was trying to hold them down while regrouping for the extraction. Our reinforcements were out, I saw my friends go down before me, shredded to pieces and burnt alive, I can still hear them scream. Pushed down in the jungle I could only honor my squad and spill as much oil as I could. We never got to call the extraction. Spill oil divers. So our fallen's blood isnt meaningless.

Crazy to think this could all be in one mission

Everytime I finally get a group of good helldivers they all leave when I bring up Malevelon creek….I’ll do it myself it guess

Rest easy our fallen Creek Crawlers the planet in which you roam and fight has now been liberated from the Automaton menace.

“What I remember about the battle for the creek was how excited my squad was when we first got news that we would be deployed there. If only we knew what was awaiting us. When our pods crashed into the soil of Malevelon all hell broke loose. Automatons surounded us from all sides. Constant red laser fire was sent showering over us. One helldiver I saw peeked over to catch a glimpse of where the enemy positions were. Shot through the head and out the other side of his helmet. Explosions rocked the planet as berserkers dropped from drop ships and charged our positions without hesitation. I wasn’t in a very good position myself either, one of my squad mates was fatally wounded, the other dead, and the last one curled up praying. Then I heard a voice through the comms say that pelican-1 evacuation was in my area and touching down. Me and my buddy ran as fast as we could, dodging fire and explosions as we head to the evac point. He was shot in the leg so I had to carry him. What I didn’t realize was that he had taken two more slugs and was dead. I still hear the screams of young helldivers and bullets raining down even to this day.”

I love how as a Community we named Maleveon Creek as “Space Vietnam” but in my honest opinion, this new Threat of Automatons is like Space World War 2, anyone else agree?

Me and my buddy were level 5 cadets transferring from the tyranid sector. We wanted excitement, we wanted the adrenaline rush. We knew it would be hard, or we thought we did. It was like nothing we’d ever seen before. As a dedicated creek diver now I face the challenge of clankers daily. Spill oil Helldivers.

On my first day as a Helldiver my mates and I went down to Malevelon as it was falling. we watched as Malevelon fell overnight trying to defend it.

Though most of the Divers focus on the Bugs the rest, small in number but brave and dedicated, will not allow the Automaton menace to spread. Us new Divers may have only heard the stories of the Creek, of the death, of the carnage, and even then most of us cadets will focus on the Bugs. Let them handle that threat, the rest of us will do what we can. Even if we can't take the Creek, we will hold the line. Let the next massacre not be us Divers, but let it be those Automatons.

Funny, i just started playing this game 2 days ago and i gatta agree, this is 100% robotnam lmfao And i saw that this planet was already 86% completed so i just joined the cause....... Yah i couldnt see a dam thing on this planet except for blades and red bullets coming at me

I was used to hoards of bots but when I was sent as reinforcements to the Creek there was bullets coming from all directions, explosions from unknown targets, and I was tossed around barely making it to extract when the destroyers left us.
