The railgun/commando setup is definitely turning out to be one of my favorite builds. That Penetrator will definitely _not_ be joining it LOL. Thanks for trying it and showing us mere mortals that it's a much better wall decoration than primary weapon :).
That was a good amount of heavies you and your team had to deal with, especially the Factory Striders. I also loved you survived two dropships falling onto you, lol!
Love the railgun but there is no range or scenario where its scope helps. It's just painful to use. I don't think it needs more zoom really, just anything but a huge dot in the way...
It's not just that Liberator Penetrator isn't a very good weapon, it's that assault rifles in general can't compete with the more specialized weapons at higher difficulty levels. Against bugs there isn't much that can compete with shotguns, particularly the Incendiary Breaker which can burn Scavengers and Shriekers to death if even one pellet grazes them. Against bots weapons with punching power like the Scorcher, Dominator and Plasma Punisher have the armor penetration to kill Devastators and Scout Striders while also having the damage per round (and an explosive component) to do so in a relatively small number of shots, and the Diligence Counter-Sniper can plink Devastator heads with single shots too. The devs have recognized this problem since they want assault rifles to be the good all-round weapons that they are in most shooter games, but I guess we'll have to wait until the next major update to see what they have in mind.
I genuinely hope they are able to do something for them. I've been trying to make the Lib Penetrator work, and its damage is just too anemic. You can hit little bots with a full burst and little bugs the same way and still not bring them down.
Thing is, I can still have a good time with the other ARs on both fronts. Tenderizer's surprisingly nice vs bots, I'm using the Adjudicator a lot for bugs in loadouts where I want medium pen and decent anti-trash ability e.g. AT loadouts. Lib Pen just doesn't measure up even to the other ARs sadly. Maybe the Illuminates will somehow play to the AR strengths more generally e.g. need for accuracy at range and high RPM to overload shields but little need for AP, but we'll have to wait and see.
@@newspiked7385agreed, of the various ARs currently I think only the Lib Pen and the Lib Concussive are lacking. All the rest have decent capability in their niches on both fronts.
@@KaliFortuna I mean if they just made the rounds from The liberator penetrator like shoot through multiple targets instead of stopping at the first one that would help I think they should boost the damage just a little bit. And then the liberator concussive should do more damage than the the pummeler because they basically do the same thing.. but the rifle has less rounds in its magazine the only thing that it has kind of going for it is that it's a ballistic trajectory is a little flattered but it's rate of fire is lower..
was surprised to hear you haven't killed a walker by shooting its face probably not the most efficient, but the most satisfying way for me is with the HMG emplacement a few controlled bursts to its face/eye and it's down love the HMG emplacement so much
tbh, i dont understand how they forgot about lib pen when they buff damage to standart, and concussive, hell, they even buff pistol but not the penetrator or slugger (which is struggle a lot in comparison to a dominator, but i still love those pump action brothers)
24:56 the hulk there hit ya right between the legs with a rocket which is what sent u 10 ft in the air. Idk how u lived as any mortal man hit between the legs with an explosive at that velocity would surely crumble, but u also immediately began standing on thin air so I'm guessing ur just not mortal
@@newspiked7385 yeah based on where the rocket hit you I'm not actually surprised that you lived, it was just a joke about getting hit in the balls lmao
Extremely weird things going on with explosion physics recently I feel like. I have about 10 clips of myself getting launched straight up with very little momentum so it feels like low gravity or something, its really odd behavior
Technical Question: After aiming and charging the rail gun, then finding your target is already down, is there a way to cancel the shot? Or do you have to just fire it off to nowhere? Follow-up question if I may, sir: Did you miss having stun grenades for setting up the Hulk rail gun shots? Thanks again for another instructive video! It'll add to my stacks of loadout index cards and spiral notebook musings!
Oh just saw the follow-up - yeah, definitely felt more pressure without stuns, honestly it's stupid but I took the Verdict for fashion reasons to match my armour, so wanted a damage nade for Fabs :P. Even if your aim is godlike, the stuns are too useful for bailing teammates out too. I only really feel good dropping them on dedicated AT builds vs bugs, where Charger kills are easy without stuns. Have fun with those index cards :)
How do you think the adjudicator would fare on the bots front now? I've seen you like it for the bugs, just considering it because I'm somewhat getting tired of single shot weapons on the bots.
