Not suggesting they add this kind of thing, just having some fun. Next Helldivers video will probably tackle the bigger bots, factory strider included. If you want to get some sneak peeks at that, I'll be logging my progress for supporters over on Patreon. It is optional, but highly appreciated: www.patreon.com/epg6/membership
@@lukemehalick370there are a couple issues, not with the finishers themselves, but rather how to best make them work in-game. Making the helldiver invincible through the whole thing is probably exploitable, but no one would want to be ragdolled or killed during an unskippable animation. Perhaps instead you make it so that the finishers only trigger when the given enemy is the last one in the vicinity, but then that can lead to long play time without seeing a single one as players might be fighting back to back or from a distance. The bile titan and factory strider would both be really rare occurrences because squads usually have to divert full attention to the greatest threat in the area.
We don't need super soldier science stuff We have the unbreakable indisputable unsurpassable indomitable will of Liberty behind us And yes this IS A JOJO REFERENCE!
Fun stuff especially with the hunting knife... that need to be added... Hope you have some for Bots too... Just seen the one for bots going to watch now...
These are INCREDIBLE, especially the Bile Titan kill. I'd love to see larger Automaton finishers as well, or Automaton finishers ON Helldivers (all heroic sacrifices in the name of Democracy, of course).
Helldivers' training should include more advanced melee combat techniques rather than simple weapon thrusts to make them truly elite soldiers. Someone warn the Ministry of Defense.
@@saikaamri5871 on the contrary, i perfectly understand, i only said that maybe we Need more preparation. Why have only liberty when you can get MORE LIBERTY?
The Warrior kills make me laugh because, if implemented with ragdolls for bugs that fall off cliffs/walls, those kill animations could lead to players falling off cliffs and taking bugs with them. Especially the second Warrior kill, because the Helldiver would end up jumping off cliffs onto the backs of Warriors they just fucking dodged, just to stab them to death while falling and screaming "FOR SUPER EEEEEAAAAAARRRRRRRRTH!!!" btw all of these are fucking slick and badass, though the Warrior could probably still hit us with its small front legs during that first Warrior animation. That's my one critique! Love this. Love it so much! I would actually love if they included a bit of this over time.
Even funnier if the bug could fall out of the animation. Like, imagine seeing the warrior charge off a cliff and then a helldiver leaping off after it like "I AINT FINISHED WITH YOU!!!"
These remind me of the sync kill animations from the Dawn of War games. Absolutely impractical in anything other than a casual scenario, but goddamn amazing to look at. Even now I still stop and stare when a force commander smacks a bloodthirster's head around with the hammer.
man, imagine if this was actually in the game with a fear area (and less enemy projectile accuracy) so you don't get interrupted. It would make melee very viable (even more with the melee weapons that will [hopefully] be added soon)
love your animation. it's beautiful. Your style of action is the exactly what I want to do. Can you make a lengthy video about your process from scratch to finished animation? if not, maybe give me some pointers to how to create animation like this? Thanks a lot man. your works are really inspiring.
Should add an alternate title : "Lore accurate Starship Troopers Mobile Infantry". Because in Paul Verhoeven's movie, Mobile Infantry were cannon fodders in melee combat..
tongue tied was super satisfying for me cause those bugs (I call them grasshoppers cause I forget what they're actually called) are like my sworn enemy lol
You know these all make it look like our helldivers didn’t get only 30 minutes of training,or maybe the tutorial can be considered a final test to double check you can perform what you learned instead of the whole thing?
Execution idea: For Hive Guards, have the Helldiver fire a few shots at it as the Helldiver runs towards it, causing the bug to hunker down. Once this is done, the Helldiver circles around and jumps on top of it, putting several shots into its back and killing it. This should look eerily similar to the scene from Revenge of The Sith, where a 212th Batt. Clone Trooper takes out a LM-432 Crab Droid.
A couple things: If this was real >Throws stun grenade at a horde >Spams finisher to kill as many as possible with invincibility frames >repeat Totally love that you went in and did the sound-work on top of these excellent animations. These would be amazing to see from the point of view of another player mid-fight. Mowing down enemies or taking cover and seeing your teammates performing these would be incredible.
Oh GOD were those Hunter ones Cathartic. Push and twist reminded me of my favorite takedown in Fable 3. The hip neck twist. Simple, brutal, effective, and strangely alluring when done by a female PC. It's my favorite one here. The Bile Titan takedown was certainly more realistic than the Factory Strider one. Because of how stupidly overarmored these things are, I could REALLY use something like this.
You know what? This would make a really cool support weapon and/or backpack. Experimental Combat Stim Delivery System. Think chainsaw from Doom 2016/Eternal where different size creatures take different amounts of slowly regenerating charge to guarantee a quick and effortless but brutal melee kill on an enemy. Scavs and troopers are free, hunters/warriors/striders are 1, guards/devastators are 2, commanders/berserkers are 3, chargers/hulks are 4, and bile titans/tanks/factory striders are 5. 4-5 charge kills should also require extra resources like a fused grenade or a stim. Let's say one charge every 10 seconds and regeneration pauses during an animation.
I just see, how Helldivers abuse finisher at all Bile Titans, Walking Factories, Chargers and Hulks, just to be free from necessity of bringing AP heavy-hitters.
Brood Commanders? Bile Spewers and Nurses? Stalkers? Would be crazy if you did the Shriekers too. lol Other than that the Push and Twist not only sounds but also looks like something you'd see in a SEAF/Helldivers training Book. lol
1:08 RULE OF NATURE And they run when the sun comes up With their lives on the line (alive) For all that I've (no choice) Gotta follow the laws of the wild (alive) With their lives on the line (no choice) Out here only the strong survive Survived to see another day The game of life The hunter and the agile prey No guarantee Which of them will succeed? Strong or weak? Rules of nature
This will greatly increase melee incentive and boost the immersion of the game if they added some of these (most are kinda extra 😅) but this is awesome
