Taking a break from Helldivers and playing other games is normal..... I don't understand this new age of gamers that want one game and that game to keep their interest at all times. It's not possible. Games will always have their highest player counts around launch with few exceptions. Game has a very healthy concurrent player count which will only increase as big updates come out. Gamers have to be the biggest drama queens around.
Baldur's Gate 3 has stayed fun and playable since the day was released so its not impossible to make a game stay fun for hundreds of hours. I crashed maybe twice in that game and probably a hundred or so in helldivers
I was a daily diver but with nothing to work towards in the game, taking a break for a few months to let warbonds and patches stack up. I look forward to coming back when the game is not being fundamentally altered every week or two
@smallpeople172 there is literally nothing special about major orders..... we could lose every single one in the next 2 years and we still would be in the same stalemate because AH wants a forever war
Yeah that’s exactly why. Unfortunately air-to-ground fire support stratagems are pretty limited in the new biome. Take your chances with the trees, or bring some anti-heavy weapons
Yep, saw some of my 500 got stuck at the top of those trees. Seems like eagles are not really useful there so I start using sentries and orbital to deal with most ops.
Currently enjoying Shadow Of The Erdtree, but im looking forward to picking up HD2 again in a few weeks. Hopefully it’s gets some good updates in the meantime.
Personally, i think "Viper Commandos" is pretty unique just not "good enough" in my opinion. The cosmetics were a nice addition and the weapons (beside the knife) were ok, but the booster was crazy good! The armors are just 'ok' and the passive are pretty much really inconsequential. Future Warbonds really need to step up their game
Look back at other warbonds that "stepped up the game" they were all nerfed into the ground. Arrowhead wanted the cake and eat it too. They wanted people to buy their bonds, but not be called a pay to win, they obviously also want the game to be very challenging judging by the pattern of enemy buffs and player nerfs. Thus anything really good that pushes you to buy the new content gets nerfed shortly after. When they realized it's pissing people off and harming the long time prospects of the game, they make a big show of "listening to the player base" and "changing course", so they can get a medal for fixing their own shortsighted mess. Viper Commandos is a clear indicator of that new course, a focus on cosmetics and non essential weapons with the "META" incentives that remain being something much more subtle (like the booster) They are not gonna step up the game because they don't want you to have anything like the pre nerf eruptor or Sickle ever again. Pilestedt plays this community like a fiddle, I would consider him an evil genius if he wasn't so bad at choosing his team. Then again incompetent minions complete the look.
@axios4702 Most people haven't realized this yet. They have yet to prove a "course correction." Don't even get me started on the latest warbond. I still haven't seen any reverts yet...
Not the Creek! Before TCS was deployed.. I was there. After.. I was still there. It was where I slowly unlocked the different difficulties. Now as lvl150 the Creek still haunts my nightmares.
@@lancesterling8447 Bear in mind, for some people, holding the controller IS enjoying life. Spending YOUR time doing what YOU want isn't time wasted. For instance, just because I like to go shooting doesn't mean that I think you don't "enjoy life" just because you don't. It's all a matter of perspective. :)
With the Elden Ring DLC out it's no surprise player count is down. I absolutely love the Viper Commando warbond, I just wish the passive armor perk was a little more useful.
The Sony and Nerf incident didn't help. But one thing no one will admit is how much damage the community did to itself. The toxic side of this game did just as much damage. People have other games to play they can enjoy and would rather not join a community that constantly bullies anyone who doesn't play how they do. I recommend divers take a break and come back when they are ready. Losing a major order is nothing compared to your mental health. I rather have divers take a break than never come back because of a toxic diver ruining it for them.
@@CopenboroIf I don't want to deal with them, I run solo missions or stick to private lobbies. I like the invite only option that's been added. Easiest way to avoid toxic players.
@@TheNightOwl11683 I agree 100% agree with this. If you have friends to play with, avoid randoms as much as possible. That being said, solo play can get boring. So it's good to take it slow and not burn yourself out.
Sony killed he hype for this game none of my friends play anymore there was a time when Id log in and my whole steam friends list was playing helldivers
@@porkbun3328unless you lost access do to a region deal, Y’all made a non issue out of something. Pc games have steam, ea, cod, sega, activision, bungie, and id accounts. No one had a serious beef with game linking until over 99% of the pc crowd decided they needed to feel oppressed.
@@Bladescorpion83The problem was the threat of being blocked from playing for refusing to link your account after playing for 3 months without it being an issue. Also, Sony doesn't have a great track record of protecting data with them being hacked 5 times in a decade. Some locations require a face scan or a picture of your government ID to create an account, & a good number of people weren't about to trust that information to Sony.
I don't like saying this, but after almost 400 hours im starting to lose intrest in the game :(, don't get me wrong, I've a lot of free time and this game is one of the best I've ever played, but we need something big real soon. The new planet (even tho it's laggy) is super fun and made me stay for a couple of days. Hope they release more strats and planets, and hopefully illuminates soon :)
The game doesn't have any meaningful progression. But right now they should focus on the stability of the game instead of adding new content. Constant bugs and crashes are ruining the game.
It's just simply the lack of content, this is supposed to be live service but really the only thing live about it is new flavor text explaining the lore behind the current mission, The missions are still basically the same People are just simply bored and with the illuminate not coming until likely august once their 6 week vacation is over theres not much reason to keep playing right now
Exactly, how many times are you going to ping-pong back-and-forth between bugs and robots with nothing else majorly happening and no real exciting content, weapons, strategy, releasing, if they go on vacation for six weeks without something major happening and major content holding us over I expect to see a massive drop

It’s not simply lack of content lmao. It’s complicated and all started with Sony then the bad balances and now lots of game bugs and crashes. Content is like last on the list.
Agreed, "get a better PC" folks are wanking themselves. Previously flawless gameplay on PS5 on performance mode now stutters multiple times per patch, regardless of planet/biome. Multiple reports on reddit of performance issues as well, with folks running solid CPU/4xxx GPUs on 1440p and not getting 60fps. This doesn't even take into account that assets don't load more often, terminals will randomly be unusable making missions impossible to complete, increased game crashes and randomly being booted back to the ship without any message, social tab doesn't load so folks can't play with friends, etc. There's a ton wrong with the game right now - it doesn't matter how fun or balanced the game is if folks are having trouble playing it in the 1st place.
@@rvrilit fully released 4 months ago and has slowly run worse since then. And to add on top of that with shady history so far with the PSN stuff. it’s not really that hard to be bothered by the state of the games performance.
What the game needs in my opinion if they want more players is another free pass and a new set of enemies. Whether that means a new base enemy or a new species it needs something
They need to bring out more.. New Story Lines with more lore via short videos on the ships TV screen. More stratagems New Weapon mods Ship Customisations and different classess New Mechs Customisable Mechs (like sentry mode, self destruct, resupply ammo) Different Ammo types (Fire, Armour, Ice, explosive) Custom Capes Bring in new vehicles for faster large map traversal A new enemy A rogue hell diver group that players have to hunt down and bring to justice! Potentially that could open up player vs player seeing that can already kill your own team mates it cant be that hard to implement.
A drop in the playerbase is expected, I wouldnt say the game is in a bad shape anyway. There are other game to play, new content on older game, people are just taking a break from HD2 until new toys to play with arrive.
I would love to play, but the last hotfix tanked my FPS from over 100 to 30 and below. And that's just standing on my bridge. I tried a bunch of troubleshooting suggested on the Discord and Steam forums, with no luck. I've got a ticket in with ArrowHead support, but until it's resolved, I'll have to pass on hell diving. Oh, it's not the social menu, (EDIT: or any menu), because my FPS goes from about 90 when rendering my ship to 30 and below when my character is rendered walking onto my bridge. i.e. before I can even open a menu :(
Can someone in the discord ask if they would consider unlocking more abilities/strategem slots the higher you rank? It feels stale after you rank 50. How about making your helldivers more powerful as they rank up?
I didn’t play as much before the mega patch n warbond was out.. I had everything unlocked n max on all samples, credits n medals, so I just didn’t see a point to hop on.. I also checked out Star Wars Hunters in that time, but definitely came back once we new content was avi.. but I can see myself taking another break now that I’m done with warbond and Shadow of the Erdtree out 😅 Helldivers 2 will always be my fav coop shooter though n I hop to stay a lil more active vs my last big brk
They've improved the game with the update but I only stopped playing a couple days after I literally haven't touched it and played everyday before that I think I need a new challenge level 9 isn't pressuring me like that anymore and I only play with randoms on mainly automaton depending on main mission of course

Here is the real update from someone who is not an apparatchik. The game is trash. It doesn't matter what they add. It is going to remain trash until the devs fix a lot of the problems. When things get added, it brings more problems. So, instead of adding things, fix what you have first.
Why would they release the cape now? The cape resembles the reaction of players that can't access the game due to the mandatory PSN requirement. Although SONY reverted the requirement, they completely blocked sales and access to those countries without PSN access.
Since they haven't released the illuminate I see no reason to keep playing this game. I'm so bored of the same 2 races on the same mission types. I honestly think the illuminate are the only chance of this game making a comeback.
I was back on until the hotfix broke the game again. Constant crashes and cant even use the 1 weapon that can dispatch of Bile Titans quickly. New ER DLC just dropped, and thats about to steal all my attention. Gotta fix my car and i started working out more consistently so HD2 has fallen hard to the wayside. Still keeping up with HD2 news but im not really hype on the game anymore. Im honestly waiting on the devs to admit this engine is too old to run the game smoothly
@@pavolp.6527It's because the bots are less fun to play against. This is and has been the general consensus from the playerbase. Don't blame players for not wanting to force themselves to play something they find unfun.
@@unfortunatecircumstances8870 The issue is, that bug players blamed bot players back in malevolen days and sometime keep blaming them now for not participating enough, while it was and still is them who refuse to participate on the opposite front in far greater numbers.
Right now I think the main concern is still the fact Arrowhead puts out patches saying x,y,z are fixed, only for the community to find (fairly quickly) that said issues are not fixed at all. I keep going back to this but there are some odd issues with enemy numbers on any mission with heavy hive/factor spawners, where you see two to four times other missions. Second the fire tornadoes AI, which after multiple missions with tornadoes surrounding our group and repeatedly over running objects we are working on, it does not feel different post .400. And there are the crashes and Spear's on-going issues, which have repeatedly been 'fixed' and yet are basically still happening to many players. There is a point were players will stop believing Arrowhead about the state of the game, because there is quite a serious issue with their internal testing/Q&A or just the testing methods they implore.
This game is getting boring, arrowhead needs to shake things up. The super store is lacking in content seriously just rehashing the same suits, why wouldn't you use it for special weapons or limited content so this drives sales to spend the credits on items worth while. Let's be honest the warbonds kinda suck seriously no real imagination I mean the weapons are low damage that you you really can't use on anything but low armor enemy, we need them to be able to kill medium armor enemy to be viable.
I really dont think this engine can handle what the devs wanna do tbh. Their ego made them think they can make this grand game in 2024 on a dead engine. The Illuminate will certainly break the game to pieces

@arizonaanalog389 remember all those vehicle leaks? Whatever happened to that? I'm sure it has something to do with why we can't call in multiple mechs. These fools don't even monetize their game properly. My wallet is literally open and waiting for some interesting virtual garbage but Arrowhead is too incompetent to do even that.
i kinda agree with this in a different way. I feel like they should add another tab to all previous warbonds, including the one free one with vehicles skins now that we can change those. Tons of different colors, camo's etc.
is it me or are the Automatons hitting extremely hard this time around? The Shield devastators seem to be insta-deleting me and my shield yesterday. Lol it was really rough fighting them
Their accuracy improved with the last big patch. I think it's to encourage use of suppresiive fire and therefore load out diversity. They can't shoot you sideways anymore but damn, they sure can shoot you.
I’m getting absolutely fucking blasted and it’s honestly annoying. I got deleted in a quarter second by a group of grunts that had accuracy like they were in FaZe or something. That and getting ping ponged by rockets constantly is a pain in the ass
the new biome can be summed up like this. your 500 killo will hit the trees at the very top and exploding. none of your eagles will work (at least for me)

I've personally experienced the Spear crashing my game. I was locking onto a charger, just as it was about to turn green for a lock, the game crashed. Since then, I steer clear of using the Spear; I swear the Spear is cursed.
😂😂😂 HOT FIX! Incoming they need to start listening to the players and actually start giving up trade shops for the limited samples. The autocannon exosuit is soooooo DISAPPOINTING! the Ballistic shield is STILL an issue! AH NEEDS TO FIX AND BUFF THE ARCS AND BLIZTER. For LIBERTY DAY will be October 26. So I'm sure we will see the CAPE. 500 hrs in and i only go in to help younger Divers to collect and liberate.
Just found your channel, enjoying it so far. But I'm wondering if/when the friend request issue will be fixed. I have a couple coworkers/friends who play HD2 on PS5, but I play on PC. We can't accept friend requests or invite to each others squad. We have to do this roundabout nonsense of finding a low pop world and manually searching for the lobby. This is what should be basic functionality and it's STILL not working.
It sucks so hard when you put 200+ hours into a game on launch because you havent had this much fun for ages to then have it all come CRASHING down nuclear style because of incompetence or bad management, I'm at the point where i WANT the major orders to fail, i want the developers to be punished in some sort of way for monumentally fucking this up so bad.
I don't have hope for this game. I think the obsession with balance even though this is a purely co-op game is stupid. The damage mechanic is too complicated and over-engineered. The code seems to be too hard to maintain. For every new fixes they did, new bugs are introduced. I hope another studio learns from ArrowHead's mistake and make their own version of Helldivers
Repetitiveness has settled which is completely normal. Now I think Helldivers 2 will need to bring actual content. Not just warbonds. I mean new enemies types, stratagems, missions and maybe the new enemy race at some point. + a Free Warbond would be much appreciated.
The spear is the only support weapon I’ve been using to fight off Chargers and Titans.. I was wondering why the game kept crashing 15 times today. Lol also is anyone else having reload glitches with their weapons?
The polls are so ineffective at gathering the data they want. Measuring a fraction of the playerbase on a server where mods ban people on a whim if they disagree with them. They constructed an echo chamber then asked "is patch good?" lmao
You know what would make people wanna play more? Giving us a real buff without a massive nerf. Adding behemoth chargers as a normal spawn makes pretty much every anti tank weapon redundant. They buffed ARs but the incendiary breaker is still better than all of them anyway. I do kinda like the adjudicator a bit but i use it for fun not because it's good. Don't get me wrong the last patch was better than most but that didn't really solve the issues of the game. Icendiary breaker + flamethrower + 500kg bomb is still the only 'meta' build against bugs. Quasar/eat/recoiless are useless thanks to behemoth chargers and their 800 hp head. Railgun is only good at taking hive guards down etc...
Yeah behemoths are annoying. AT weapons should be able to remove leg armor with one shot but they dont due to rounding error. This is extremely easy thing to fix and i would expected quick fix next day but devs doesn't seems to care. I suspect spawn rate for behemoths is broken too because i saw 2 behemoths standing in exact same spot colliding into one another like game spawn 2 entities where should be just one. Playing bug front without flamethrower is torture.
@@Steir12 it costs them money to upload patches, they do care but its not a game breaking issue, behemoths are not immortal so its literally not worth paying money just for that one fix...just wait for the patch and hope they fix it
@@Steir12 AT weapons can one shot their leg armor, if you walk forward while shooting and not too far, that compensates for the -1 damage the projectile gets when it exits the barrel, dumb but this is how it it. Still they cannot one shot the head and you still have to deal with the exposed flesh on the leg, much easier to bring flamethrower and kill it this way. AT weapons are bad even when using this exploit.
Just had a weird thought where I wish they would add opossum states for the bugs like a critical damage state where they play dead and jump at you if you come close but just bleed out normally if you don’t
Dont plsy it much after 250 hours, just play when a new warbond comes out. I dont see the point in playing it otherwise. Live service always fail at one point And it has always ran like garbage on PS5
I'm taking a break. It's time for super Earth to get attacked so I can fight in an urban cityscape environment because I'm tired of the only map type being a vast open nothingness with a building dotted here and there
