I want to thank you for the detailed briefing. I've only ever trained and fought against terminids, so when I found out that I was being deployed to the automaton planets, I was terrified. However, watching this presentation now aboard the SES Founding Father of Family Values has made me feel much more confident and prepared to spread democracy, thanks to you.
XD Glad the presentation helped, many brave heroes died in attempts to bring you this briefing. Class Destroyer name btw, next time mine is up for review I may have to steal it :P
Yeah I love the change - I think for bots it doesn't change much except for Striders going down to 2 shots to the shield or just 1 to the joint, which is really nice. 3 felt a bit too much beforehand. For bugs I think it's an even bigger buff, as you can now burst Charger asses in 1 magdump, and let them bleed out. Not being able to take on Chargers efficiently with it before was kind of a dealbreaker for Terminid missions, so I can't wait to do a bug run with it. Only reason I didn't take the AMR on this run was...fashion lol. That green doesn't work with my snow planet getup! When the Vandalon defence ends, maybe =P.
@@newspiked7385 Alright cool! Yeah I mean it’ll help with the annoyance of having to take striders down in 2 shots instead of 3. I can see why that would be annoying but it’s nice that the buff with help with that.
Great tip about peeking around cover instead of going over. For bugs high ground can often be helpful, but for bots peaking around makes a lot more sense now that you mention it.
Yeah, just a funny thing I'm guilty of a lot too. Think we're just used to the idea of a sharpshooter taking high ground so you can see everything, but in games that often means everyone can see you too.
Great vid! Been working my way up from solo 4s, can now full-clear solo 8s with some consistency - hoping to do solo 9s soon and your vids have been super useful, cheers!
After recent bugfix I have been rocking my new favourite loadout versus bots: Primary: SMG but will be replaced with scorcher once I get it Secondary: Revolver but will be on swap duty with P-19 since it's just so good Support: Ballistic shield & EAT/Quasar Cannon It feels amazing and you can just tank everything thrown at you by bots while calmly tapping their weakspots. A LOT of fun, give it a try and you will not regret it
Thanks marine/helldive! Yeah was running the Defender with the Ballistic Shield yesterday and it felt great, was easy to get close to the Heavy Devastators for those headshots. Only thing to watch out for was the Rocket Devastators and the Hulks, so I gotta bring a good support weapon for those. HMG was surprisingly quick at killing Hulks, only a few shots to the eye will do it, I just gotta practice more with that recoil.
This has proven that it's not impossible to take head on battles in a solo helldive against bots. I know stealth is important for them, especially when solo, but all the explosive weapons I use are fit for going into brawls when needed.
Yeah, especially with the rocket nerf and armour buffs, don't even need to run the energy shield to avoid one shots now so you can be a lot more aggressive.
if you're gonna play on these snowy types of planets, i recommend the muscle enhancement booster so you walk much faster in the snow rather than the stamina booster.
Slugger's still decent imo, tho I'm used to working with weapons that don't stun the Devastators. Dominators real nice if you want something that performs similar to the old Slugger, just aims a little slower. Also depends on the support weapon I'm using, if I'm rocking AMR / AC, I'm good with Diligence / Slugger since the AMR / AC can handle Striders, if not I'll go Scorcher, Dominator or even the Plasma Shotgun, tho I'm not a fan of the projectile drop.
When we met the large Fabricator walker or what, we just gave it a lot of love and we are unsure how much took it down. All four of us started with a coordinated quasar barrage. Took out the cannon on its back, others aimed for its head. Then a 500kg bomb. More quasar shots and finally Orbital Laser made it fell. I assume its like the Bile TItan with lots of separate part having its own healthbar.
Oof, yeah, probably worth targetting one body part rather than spreading, have heard it can go down quick with weakspot hits. 2 x 500kg works like a charm tho, slower target than a bile titan so it's pretty straightforward to pull offw
I played a little solo, and I have to say that there are two very important factors in the game that determine whether you can resolve a huge number of battle situations in your favor. This is the quality of graphics and the absence of lag. Without a good picture, it is impossible to accurately target vulnerable spots and kill quickly. With lags you will miss even point blank.
Yeah mini-nuke works as well against ship fabricators, making SEAF much more relevant (it's always a nice tool, but there its value skyrocketed). I'd assume high yield explosive doesn't work as it looks similar to 500kg (which isn't enough).
interesting to see the SEAF SAM site target gunships. makes sense that they would, i've just never had two of them on the same map and close enough together to see it happen. a shame the SAM has such a relatively small range though, would love to see it get longer range so in the frequent event that it's on the edge of the map it could remain useful throughout the rest of the mission. got pretty lucky here with it being central i suppose an argument could be made that full-map range would make it OP, but with how slow the missiles are (and slow it shoots compared to how many ships come in later difficulties), drops farther away from it would still have a solid chance to drop their stuff before the SAM got to them, and gunships likely strafe fast enough to accidentally dodge the missiles since they have pretty mediocre tracking
Slightly more range could be cool yeah, probably not full map tho, you can get multiple SAM sites in one map too. Think it does well vs gunships since they tend to hover a lot, but yeah dropships often sneak a drop in first.
@@newspiked7385 true, true, i forget you can get multiple SAMs as they dont spawn that much for me. RNGesus giveth and RNG taketh away i suppose an extra ~50-75M range would probably be fine tbh, especially if the map gen is generous and doesn't put it on the edge of the map. ..not sure why the map gen prefers to put stuff near the sides as much as it does, that but eh
nice vid! I do have something slightly unrelated to ask tho.. So for the past 2 major orders (Malv Creek) & Def. of [Planet Names] i've done a considerable amount of operations in both of em in defence and attacks but never received the war medal things... is there a reason why??... I assume it's because i was on other planets (usually defense against terminids or just so happen to be another automaton planet) whilst the major order timer ended and maybe that's why i didn't get the medals???... does anyone have an answer to this that's like a good 80 war medals not received for my contributions :C
@newspiked7385 I've since checked multiple medias and a lot of people also have this issue... They're saying it's the servers computing a little bit slowly and the rewards only only come after hours or days. Well... been a few days now but still no medals. (I'm not capped I need medals to continue unlocking stuff)
With the new patches to the damage, I was wondering if you could do a 0 death, solo helldive with no stratagems except for the support ones (possbily while clearing all objectives)? It might be impossible but I just wanted to pitch that as an idea since things seem more survivable now
All the Eagle Strikes have limited uses, but you can send the Eagle to rearm to refill the uses. There is also a ship upgrade that gives you one more use for each Eagle Strike.
@@newspiked7385 And I thought that a 500 kg bomb is only for one time and another +1 from the improvement for the entire mission. Thank you, I’ll take it now ☺️
My aim in this game is nothing special, the aim lag on most guns means you can't really play it like a twitch shooter. Mostly it's tactical awareness, which you can definitely pick up :) you got this!
