Magnificent! And there are no "cowardly and cheap tactics" to beat the Illuminate master unit, only good strategies. And your strategy of retreating (or relocating) to a narrow corner and laying down a wall of napalm fire that the electro-balls and enemy minions cannot cross was just brilliant. Keep calling in airstrikes and zap any enemy that flanks the wall of fire with your trusty Sickle laser. Repeat until the boss is reduced to scrap by Thunder Barrages. Was the help beacon placed as an extra piece of cover to block enemy fire?
I really hope they implement a system that if has been used 2 times, they should be able to counter it forcing us to make another strategy again and the cycle repeats.
I recently broke this game out again in my Vita and discovered it was upgraded with free expansions. Nice! But the missions now include Retaliatory Strikes that are extremely difficult. I am dropped in a small area and must kill something like 225 bugs, but soon the really big bugs start spawning. The ground-drillers (three tentacles on a giant bug that drills under the ground and pops up by me) really make things difficult. Throwing out stun fields while wearing a forcefield and spraying everything with poison works but I always get killed by those tentacles.
Bat Guano A way to know where the tentacled bugs are. Is to assume the exact opposite direction of the orange part of the tentacles. These guys even in pairs can frustrate to no end, so take them out quickly. Try to create a safezone for yourself in the retaliatory strike maps and always go in with jump packs. Better than the force fields I'd say. Take a displacement field perk along too if you can.
That was brilliant. I wonder if you can be faster using Quad Launcher (Commando) with Resupply and the two Hellfires than you were with the Thunder Barrages.
+cato_otac Also wonder how strafing run would work out. My understanding is everything works vs the boss, and even if it didn't do much damage it is very spammable and could be helpful if you got overwhelmed. Might require too much effort, however, since you'd basically be radioing in every 5 seconds or so.
nice dude. your accuracy when throwing hellfire amazed me a lot . i oftenly tried this method but sometime work n sometime bad . it needs lots of training to master this. impressive indeed :) psn id : shaharizal
