I do hope they actually bring her unique missions over from Warhammer 2 as she used to have a mission to take Morathi and Alarielle's capitals which would increase the minimum threshold of her death night mechanic, so if you captured both the center would be your new minimum and you would never have any penalties that mattered, wasn't a must-do type thing but it was a nice side objective that you could focus on so you wouldn't need to ever worry about the death night negatives.
They didn't bring those over??? That makes the campaign unplayable or at the least really fucking annoying and tedious. For fuck's sake, CA, get your shit together and perhaps put more than 20 people on post-launch support for a massively complicated game instead of blowing millions on a years late to the party hero shooter.
@@mandu6665 I only quickly loaded it up and did 1 turn to see if it would pop up on the next turn but it didn't so either it requires multiple turns or maybe defeating your first enemy but I get the feeling it isn't in, I know when Immortal Empires first came out that Thoreks mission to confederate Karak Azul wasn't in either, haven't played him recently so I don't know if that has changed or not.
@@NightWhisper8462 I played a Crone campaign a month ago, not being familiar with her campaign from wh2 But I read somewhere in-game that apparently capturing special settlements increases the lowest stage you can reach, I ended up smashing Morath, thinking - surely this will do something! She's like the reason for Crone's aging or something, don't remember lore WELL as far as I can tell it did not do shit, so unlucky (I also checked missions, the only one that I thought might've been related was capturing Khaine's Shrine - definitely a special settlement - but it dod nothing either)
When you play as Hellebron, you are rewarded for not auto-resolving and saving your units, so that you don't have to listen to Crone's screeching when recruting 🙃
Sporctacus is actually a reference to the slightly above average hero Sportacus from the renowned classic lazy town. Another reference to his athletic nature is the habit of the cage breaker to run away when I try to wipe them out.
One thing to note about Hellebron is that she is one of the best recepients for the Sword of Kaine. She specifically refers to the sword in her Vortex campaign intro in TTWWH2 ("with it, I shall pierce the heart of Ulthuan") and it does make sense, her being the high priestess of Khaine. The physical resistance allows her to become a one-woman doomstack quickly and with a full stack of very high resistance infantry units she can be an absolute menace.
With sword of kaine and all the physical resistance buffs she gets she's kinda insane, she doesn't have as much ward save as Malus but she has the Manticore
Fun fact: if all high elves of ulthuan get eradicated every next army that appears through death night will be under your control. This makes for a pretty nice late game reinforcements

I played L/VH Hellebron very recently and i think going full on rampage mode on your intial enemy is better than making peace. How i started was like this, as my first building in Har Ganeth i made the witch elf building that allowed me to spam witch elfs starting at turn 2. Good thing about this is the fact that you will basicly have a doomstack at around turn 5, obviously you wont have full 20 witch elves since you will be rushing for orcs but you will still have enough of them. Witch elves will basicly have around 30% physical resistance early game without hellebrone skill tree which is quite insane. With the one of the earliest game of doomstacks you have you can deal with the full stack of the orcs + a garrison combined and when you are done with the orcs sigvald will be sieging the frozen landing which allows you to easily smash him while his army is either damaged from the siege if he starts the siege, or take him out on the field while he is still sieging, etiher way its a free 10% physical resistance. At that point Valkia will declare war on you and you'll have to start recruiting another army near har ganeth. You can loose 1 minor settlement to Valkia but its not that big of a deal. You can easily spam darkshards for your second army and take out Valkia aswell while also taking out sigvald with Hellebrone. The main difficulty of this campaign is making sure Malekith doesn't declare war on you. Because for some reason Malekith always, ALWAYS, wants to hate you. So you kinda have to constantly give him money until you start attacking ulthuan at that point you want to drag morathi and malekith into war with high elves so they stop hating you and you can hate high elves together instead.
Sportacus has to be more of a reference to Lazy Town. And given that Stefan Karl Steffanson died about thereabouts, I have a feeling a zoomer at CA managed to finagle that into the game. We all owe them a beer for that one. That was goddamn heroic.

Everything points to Sporctacus being a reference to Spartacus and not Sportacus. The orcs are former slaves, not jacked up acrobat superheroes. The only reason you're making the connection is that both names are a pun on Spartacus.

I don't know if they changed anything with the recent patch but my first attempt went really bad .I secured the starting province with no problem but after that the Orcs did not want peace and came at me with 2 units of black orcs 1 arachnarok spider and shitloads of squigs i tried to lure them out and ambush them and i failed i had to fight them in the open and suffered a lot of casualties right after that i peace out with them but by the time i recovered my loses Valkia already took out the dark elves on my left side ,meanwhile i sent one general to occupy the area above the starting province .Now while i was preparing to fight Valkia for some unknown reason Belakor appeared in my starting province and started raiding me 2 turns later he sacked one of my minor towns .I defeated Belakor army which was not easy and suffered a lot of dmg again Valkia and Mung attacked , i ambushed Valkia with my already dmg army but then Mung came at me with 2 stacks of trash marauders and captured one of my minor towns in the starting zone then Valkia attacked the top province with a stack i tried to make army there but it was to late , right after that Sigvald attacked me from the other side ignoring the orcs and i had to restart the campaign , my second attempt everything went good just like Legend said .This was on Very Hard / Very Hard with no mods .
It is really easy to confederate the dark elf faction that owns the shrine of khaine as hellebrone thanks to the death night army, allowing you to easily destroy all the high elves on the donut, which allows you to easily get into a military alliance with Morathi, which allows you to pull her into a ton of wars, which allows you to confederate her on turn 40, which instantly grants you the short campaign victory. Also, thanks to the new alliance point mechanic, you can make the death night army attack other targets. I had them constantly annoy the heralds of ariel.
I did a Hellebron campaign recently and I allied with Sigvald and Valkia by trading them the settlements to my right and left. Then went straight for the high elves. I'd recommend it since it let me fight with my blood voyage much earlier. Otherwise its a pretty lame ability since you just press and watch it sail off to die. In head to head campaigns its fun though since you can do all the battles for the blood voyage.
Hellebron was more fun in WH2. Waiting for CA to fix the issues and bring back the 2 objectives to raise the minimum for DN. She is the only Dark Elf i enjoy, real upsetting how you cant play her right now.
@Legendoftotalwar Legend, one thing as advice, what i thing needs to be spread to everyone. There is sort of "cheese", but its basically quite legit - so when i was playing my last of TW campaign as dark elves, i was also frustrated that to keep the slaves working was basically impossible after some point. But then i was conquering the wood elves sisters of twilight, and intheir region, it s T4 settlement, i put into raid stance. I was shocked from how many slaves you get from there. Basically what i have done - i put 2.5 stacks of armies in front of the settlement raiding constantly, and with this - my slaves was simply maxed out for the complete campaign. I still agree, that CA need to rebalance this mechanic - but for now this is solution what will work for all dark elves enjoyers :)
Won't bother playing Dark Elves until a good slave mechanic overhaul mod. They were my favourite faction in Warhammer 2. I don't know why CA butchered them. Probably to give their mechanic to Chaos Dwarves.
CA has done a totally piss poor fuck up job with all Dark Elves content. Someone up high in the company has a major hateboner for the Dark Elves and totally half-assed their uninspired mechanics. Lokhir should have gotten his own horde ship like Vampire Coast, he should have gotten a cooler more thematic mount instead of copy/pasting a Black Dragon that generic lords get and global bonuses to Corsairs, Malus Darkblade has none of his book related quests and items and feels like a last minute swap for what was suppose to be Rakarth (Beast army rite for Malus....wtf?! Doesn't make ANY sense lore or characterwise!), Malus's hero rank rite becomes totally useless if Malekith gets wiped out/confederated which is now a very real possibility, totally lackluster and tiny stat upgrades for Malus and Cold Ones while Sniktch got OP playstyle changing factionwide buffs to many Eshin units, Rakarth is pretty good but again very few global bonuses. Hellebron and Malus's mechanics are simply burn slaves/money to not get penalized and iirc the only race with multiple factions tainted by these shitty gameplay hindering mechanics.
@@mandu6665 High Elves suck too mechanic-wise. It's their units and lords that makes people come back to them. I will happily return back to Dark Elves if they at least bring old slave mechanic back. Mods will fix the rest.
At least there are good mods by Rhox to flesh out Malekith/Lokhir, and also someone made a mod that "Fixes" Tz'arkan whispers so u can get his unique items more easily.
This is probably my number 1 DLC I hope they update, but now people have already paid for it, it was from game two and they've got other, shinier things to focus on I don't like the chances of this campaign getting a mini-rework... which is a shame because I think its got some cool ideas and buffs some neat units
Anyone coming here in 2024 or later looking for first turns strategy: To get the Orc Gladiators to accept a peace treaty I take the Blood Voyage at Turn 3 and on Turn 4 you can get the peace treaty with them + non aggression + money once your blood voyage army spawned and tilted power balance towards you. Might be worth a sticky :D
@@eduardoribeiroucv9630 TWW2 Dark Elves could control where their slaves did & didn't go, slaves provided significantly more income, and the enemies you faced were significantly harder but manageable due to Dark Elves having an equally good roster vs those you were facing + bot cheats so long as the player had good logistics/economic management. TWW3 Dark Elves do not get to control where their slaves go (which means any public order issues with slaves are global as opposed to localized into providences that the player chooses), they are automatically consumed by economic buildings even in regions where you don't want/don't care about being a primary source of income, slave economy (while still relatively strong) doesn't provide even close to the same amount of income as in TWW2, and the enemies they face aren't nearly as challenging. Also the new mechanics they introduced with slaves (dictats) aren't very interactive. Basically, just as dull to use as the previous game but overall less effective and the enemies you face are comparatively a joke. This leads to a very easy and boring campaign with very little challenge.
I fell in love to helebron campain in tw2, using a lot of witch elfs, I also play her in wh3, acualuy she was my first DE play in 3, and with her mechanich to get a lot of slave I had no problem with them. The civil war Hellebron vs Moraithy is a really fun for me.
I don't think legend plays much hellebron since he doesn't seem to be aware that you can permanently get rid of the lowest 2 levels of death night by doing the quests

But YT just deletes comments with link now -_- sorry) So I believe you're right, it was buildings or locations. (Did a quick look, I think it was completing a mission or two, to capture Quintex(?) and some high elf place)

I've never played as Hellebron, but I've played a couple of campaigns as Alarielle (mainly back in WH2). These are the only two factions one must play in order for the Blood Voyage to spawn. What I've noticed is that the Voyage goes straight to the Shrine of Khaine. Each time it appeared it ignored all my other armies and settlements - they seem to be hardcoded to go for the shrine only. I don't know what they do afterwards though, because I've always managed to defend the shrine.
I've recently finished Hellebron campaign. It was alright actually, though I'd prefer if the "slave usage" by buildings was reduced by half. I'm not very aggressive player and I didn't exactly like that it forced me so much. It was fun though... would be more fun if I could take my time with some engagements.
I kno you might disagree, but all Dark-Elf factions have kind of basic mechanics. I never played that much into the end game with hellebron but i always felt like her mechanic is better in wh3 than in wh2. From my experience i struggled to really stack slaves until i had those super nice no decline provinces in wh2. In wh3 i was almost always at the cap, it felt like i could get a death night army with every city that i sacked, making me use it way more than i would have in wh2
I swear they changed the blood voyage mechanic to where you can control the army spawned? I'll have to double check but last time I played I remember controlling the army
I just want this game to be good finally. It's been over one year and so many noticable bugs are still around, both regarding mechanics and visuals (corruption visuals on the world map in some areas for example). It's been over a year and this game is still not polished. How long do we need to wait? I can't believe they can do this.
You can mark settlements for the deathknight to attack they don’t head right to Ulthuan anymore. I had them take out the 2 far settlements the orcs have. Worked in my game with her at least. They def were listening to my attack orders.
I WH2 if you play coop with Helebron, her blood voyage armies are given under your control and very cheap, which makes her extremely powerful. I don't know if they changed it in WH3 coop.
So is it not possible anymore to lock the 2 last tiers of the blood night? That would be pretty stupid considering all the nerfs the dark elves already had to endure
Wait, you mean that relying on slavery for everything is not sustainable without a constant source of fresh slaves? Say it ain't so! :P Honestly, annoying as it is that is pretty thematic for the Dark Elves to be screwed over by their own edginess. Besides, the mechanic was way too powerful in Warhammer II anyways since it encourages you to take the casualty replenishment option (which you generally would want anyways) and made the economy a non-issue.
When I was playing with Hellebron I was able to spam death night armies and contol them and destroy The high elves in like 10 turns and had like 30 death night armies super OP but this was in multiplayer could have been glitch idk
you can still do the rite that increases the black arks. just get the port after taking out valkia. the black ark doesn't really help with that anyway.
They don’t go right to ulthuan anymore you can mark settlements for them to attack and they will listen now. They did in my campaign. They killed the orcs furthest settlements for me. At least they did when empires first dropped. Haven’t played a helebron lately. May give her a go again soon. I love helebron and I think her mechanics are fun but it a little rush heavy at times
I think it's weird how CA thought they needed to change the resource name of the Chaos Dwarf mechanic to "Labourers" when the term "Slaves" is already being used in the game. If they really wanted to avoid any "politically correct screeching" fallout instead of this half-assed attempt at not offending anyone, they might as well have renamed both resources to "Unpaid Interns"
Maybe instead of getting your jimmies rustled about some culture war nonsense you just made up, you could consider that they use different terms to differentiate the DE and CD mechanics? Like, for example, every single faction that has some kind of additional resource that affects their economy but are nonetheless called different things for the sake of clarity and flavour despite being functionally very similar to each other?

I remember playing as her and the blood host managed to annihilate almost half of Ulthuan while I was securing Nagaroth. And I played on VH campaign difficulty. A lot of mods tho
This is one of those shit factions that I never played in wh2 and will continue to not touch in wh3. Of course being a dark elves never helped the matter, they are very strong but not that fun to play in wh2, and in wh3 they are just shit. Plus you got options like lokhir or malus which are way more interesting.
