The birds are an important topic for Colombia as since some years Colombia is known as the country with most bird species in the world. We are currently close hitting 2,000 and this is remarkable as there are between 9,000-10,000 bird species worldwide. Over 20% can be found in Colombia. Is that great or great? They are not restoring, it is to protect the buildings from damage as we have some social unrest and demonstrations since April 28. Monserrate is only closed for walking up the trail on Tuesdays. The cable car and top is open. Thanks for your good promotion of Colombia and come back. Safe trip! Frank

I've lived in Bogotá for over 3 years and just happened upon your video. Nice video. You did Bogotá justice. I've talked to people from around the world who still think that Colombia is a dangerous place. It is definitely underrated and is a great place to visit. I've been to most of the major areas of Colombia and I would recommend any place. The people are warm, helpful, and kind.

Bogota seems to be a very hospitable city, i like its combination of new and old and how they preserve their architecture like those balconies at the beginning of the video.....the food made me hungry, but pissed me off the grafiti 'artists'...apparently the council have designated areas where they can exhibit their art, however there are still a few who don't respect the rules. Nice pit stop! I spent a month or so in Bogota a couple years ago. The streets look surprisingly deserted compared to when I was there. I found Colombia much more modern and with many fewer indigenous people than I expected compared to other S. American cities/ countries that I have visited. No offense, but I'm also surprised that Brazilians do not know more about Bolivar. PS My pix with the llama was taken just off the main square.

5:34 Important clarification to make, when most those countries became independent they formed one country called Colombia (today it is called “Gran Colombia”). It felt apart after a couple of decades or so and Venezuela and Ecuador went their own way. Panamá was part of Colombia until it became independent in the late 19th century with the “encouragement” of a big anglo country in North America that I will not mention (but it’s not Canada). Panamá actually celebrates its independence from Colombia, not from Spain. Oh, and in Perú they consider Simon Bolivar a dictator. 6:13 Your videos are beautiful… love the colors… :-) 14:01 Dog: “¿Qué?” 24:47 Cool drone view… excellent work… 27:19 That’s why I love your channel and watch all your videos, you were able to show us that much in such a short amount of time… keep up the good work! 27:56 No plans to visit the south of the country? There’s so much of Brazil that we don’t know about… would be nice if someone will show us.. (hint!)

Rio! Rio! CARNIVAL!!! Jumping Places brings Carnival to RU-vid! ...this is where Carol is gonna shine...it's her home, her neighborhood.{Finally, Carol's gonna dance.....} Don't miss your flight! ...get too far from the airport and a traffic jam ruins everything. 4:20 -> Wow! A 3 section tandem bus...never seen that before...no corners on that route. 5:25 -> 'Muerte a Patriarcado' = 'Death to Patriarchy' ...makes sense. Best, most intense street art in the world-> King and Queens Ave in Toronto, Canada. 20:01 -> Thousands of years ago a fisherman from China got caught in a storm and landed on the shores of this continent.....the rest is history...... 22:24 -> Amazing deal.....too good to be true.....

People says Bogota is the coldest city in Colombia, but you guys arrived unfortunately on one of the coldest months of the year, you can say “winter” start in august, rain mostly and from November the weather takes up all over the country and tourism season starts, that’s why the lack of people around. But Bogota can get hot as up to 30 degrees on summer. Next time the best months for warm weather would be between November to July most parts of the country ;) I really hope u come back with better time to visit this beautiful country!!! :D

Great video, thank you. It brought back some great memories. I suspect the streets were empty because it had been raining. All of my Colombian friends are pretty terrified of the rain.

The big bean at 21:39 is called "Haba" in Colombian Spanish, Aluvia in some other parts. Mr Google tells me it is called Broad bean or Horse bean in English. Hope you enjoyed my city! Come back soon.

Nice video. The bean on the soup that you are wondering is called haba very typical mostly from Boyaca a department near Bogota.

I am loving all your videos! And I am SO happy to see this video from Colombia! 🇨🇴 I have been hoping to visit Colombia very soon. I have been living in Costa Rica for almost 4 years, which is an amazingly beautiful country. 🌈🌺 Colombia is another place I had considered living, but had never had a chance to visit yet. This video today has ignited my fire to visit Colombia! I am especially interested in the Northern coastal area. Thank you so much for your awesome videos! I feel like I'm right along side you both as a traveler friend. 🤪

Thank you for sharing with me my birth place, Not sure if you know by now but the country has been in upheaval for several months and you just missed it, one reason why you found lots of places closed, graffiti and so much police. Thank you for sharing the Museo de Oro it is very touching to see for memories of my ancestors, but it also this was a surprise and nostalgic experience. Made me wish for better times to come so I can go back. I have been away several years and living abroad for 51. Thank you gracias. Chris and Carol.

Nice video… by the way, the black covers you guys saw in “plaza Bolivar” is really to protect the buildings from people throwing paint (specially ping pong balls filled with paint) during protests.
