Let’s get started!
Hello Kitty Kite materials needed:
White Yarn
¼ inch wooden dowel cut into three pieces (20 in & 16 in)
Saw for cutting the dowel
Scissors
Red piece of paper
String (optional)
Needle (optional)
Pencil
Black & Yellow Markers
Glue Stick
Hot Glue Gun
Tape
Ribbon
Big piece of white paper
Step-by-step instructions:
(01:08) Step 1: Cut dowels and make a little groove at the ends.
(01:26) Step 2: Arrange dowels in a T and tie together with string
(01:31) Step 3: Tie another piece of string around the grooves to complete the frame.
(01:50) Step 4: Trace the frame on the paper leaving an inch border. Cut out and tape over the frame.
(02:02) Step 5: Draw Hello Kitty’s ears and tape on the kite.
(02:14) Step 6: Draw Hello Kitty’s bow on red paper, cut, and glue onto her left ear on the kite.
(02:42) Step 7: Use a pencil to sketch Hello Kitty’s face and color in with marker.
(03:06) Step 8: Tie another piece of string across the kite directly onto the dowels.
(03:12) Step 9: Tie another piece on the top and bottom dowels.
(03:24) Step 10: Poke a small hole directly above where the dowels intersect and tie a string to the dowels.
(03:31) Step 11: Leave long and tie to the other pieces of string.
(03:48) Step 12: Tie a long piece of yarn to the middle string and leave about 30 feet of yarn to fly your kite! Wind the yarn around the dowel as a handle.
My Melody Kite materials needed:
Clear contact paper
Pink tissue paper
Heart shaped hole punch
Scissors
Yellow & Black marker
Pencil
White paper
Ribbon
Tabe
Hot Glue Gun
String
Needle
Yarn
My Melody Kite Step-by-step instructions:
(04:30) Step 13: Use the heart hole punch on the tissue paper.
(04:40) Step 14: Place the contact paper sticky side up and add the paper hearts.
(04:51) Step 15: Place another piece of contact paper on top and press together.
(04:58) Step 16: Follow the same steps to make another kite frame.
(05:18) Step 17: Draw My Melody’s bow and face and cut them both out.
(05:40) Step 18: Use your black marker to draw My Melody’s eyes and smile. Use the yellow marker to complete her little nose.
(05:54) Step 19: Color in her bow with the yellow marker.
(05:58) Step 20: Glue on My Melody’s face and add her bow below her right ear.
(06:07) Step 21: Follow the same steps to tie on the string.
(06:15) Step 22: Add on a beautiful pink bow to complete the My Melody kite.
