That is some garbage about flopping and softness - ask a 225lb Ryan Clarke to stop a 260 lb LeBron James on the basketball court and give the offensive player an extra point for running over the defensive player and we will see who is tough. This is PHYSICS not MENTALITY - you all cannot be that stupid FLOPPING is done to get a CALL not because they are SOFT
Antonio Gates never flopped and he came from college Basketball no football and had a HOF career. Walked right off the ncaa tournament floor to the NFL football field and killed these guys . We will never see a college football player come to the NBA period, let alone have a HOF career
No it doesn't. That's a dumb argument, Ward played 4 years of basketball as well in college. Antonio Gates never played college football and signed as an undrafted free agent and was successful. Jimmy Graham played 4 years of college basketball returned for grad school and played 1 season of football and was drafted in the 3rd round.
@@ronniekregar3482 If you are referring to Kurt Warner who was working at a grocery store, I think you need to revisit Warner's entire football journey before getting back into the NFL. He had plenty of foot experience to include Arena ana NFL Europe after he went undrafted and was later picked up by the Packers, let go, and made a comeback.
To expect an NBA player to play in the NFL with highschool football experience is like expecting me to be able to build the Taj Mahal, with wood shop experience😂
High School and pro is 1000x different😂😂😂 it's a reason why you can play NBA right out of High School but no way in hell can a person 18 years old play NFL right out of High School 😂😂😂
@@ronniekregar3482 btw Dennis rodman was plucked off the streets was undrafted and many NBA players were off the playground never even went to college so get your facts straight
@@ronald8071 Kurt Warner was literally bagging groceries and winning NFL MVP a year later. It's not lies. Shannon himself just finished raving about how DJ Augustine, the NC State dude from the NCAA tournament could play in the NFL if basketball didn't work out. Dennis Rodman was not plucked off the street lol, he played College basketball
@@ronald8071 Kurt Warner went from bagging groceries to NFL MVP lol. Dennis Rodman was not plucked off the street, he played College basketball and averaged 17 ppg and was drafted in the second round lol. Get YOUR facts straight buddy lol
Guys that could play basketball sure, but not play in the NBA. Football teams pluck dudes off the street all the time, like straight out the grocery store. Basketball teams can't do that lol
@@ronniekregar3482 nigga what?? Anyone that “came off the street” in football has already been working out and waiting on calls back from teams that’s how I know you don’t know anything about what you tryna talk about… nba teams had uber drivers on their teams too so what does mean?? Just like how you said those football guys can play basketball not in the nba, those nba guys can play football not in the nf💯 a lot of the basketball greats couldn’t handle football or their parents wouldn’t allow them to and that’s fir a reason it I don’t expect couch potatoes to understand that
What Shannon saying is that NBA players don’t have the callous to play! U gotta want to hit somebody b2b2b2b .. NBA players thinking all u gotta do is run routes 😂 they’ll think load management
It's more common for athletes to play basketball coming up and on the collegiate level and then move to football at the NFL level have numerous cases for that. Couple of Hall of Fame tight ends. Rarely hear it the other way around . Basketball is a more skilled sport. Football is easier to transition to. I'm a Football player. Basketball is a different type in shape 😩
He also was fast as hell and wasn’t out there getting killed. And consistently played football his whole life and still was injured at times. Also his name is spelled DeSean.
@@vernonharrison2488lol, he's 1000% correct ... Allen Iverson and Charlie Ward were both 6ft tall and 180 pounds soaking wet and they were amazing football players. Football teams pull guys off the street all the time lol.
@@ronniekregar3482 did he say anything about past players? There's plenty of players throughout history that were good at multiple sports, he said he could take 30 players from the NBA but pat couldn't take 30 from the NFL, the NBA take guys off the streets too what are you trying to clown about??
@@ronniekregar3482 the celebrity basketball have NFL players every year balling!!! The NFL can't even have a celebrity contact game because the NBA players would 1000% get hurt, or get embarrassed
One thing we do know is there were a few NFL stars that had success playing other professional sports at an extreme high level... The NBA's arguably greatest player went to try professional baseball, and flopped...
People who don't play football just don't understand. My son had a kid that played football with him when they were 7-8 he had 36 TDs in one season. He was very gifted athletically. When he they were 9 years old, he experienced a hard crack back block that knocked the wind out of him. He was okay but that changed him forever. Since that play he's never stepped on a football field and put on a pair of pads since. 😂 There have been multiple football players that have transitioned to other sports.Deion and Bo Jackson baseball. Marvin Bracy and Marquise Goodwin track and field etc. name me a NBA ( Not college) player that has transitioned or played another sport while in the NBA at a high level?
@@jsanders9975 Also, do you think a receivers job is just to run fast down the field and catch the ball? People who think that way don't understand how receiving actually works. The nfl game is miles more complicated than the average fan even cares to realize.
I worked the sideline for the Raiders for 2 seasons. TV doesn't do the hips justice. Sitting front row doesn't do it justice. The sound alone was crazy to me. You can feel the hits in your chest from the sideline and not.just the big collisions, every damn play.
Perkins and Austin Rivers are literally so dumb just by trying to make these type of arguments. ESPN needs to make some roster changes n get clowns like this out of here.
That is some garbage about flopping and softness - ask a 225lb Ryan Clarke to stop a 260 lb LeBron James on the basketball court and give the offensive player an extra point for running over the defensive player and we will see who is tough. Don't tell me A superb athlete can't play football I name a few football players that are in today's league that doesn't have the best of talent yet in the NFL
I think we know now who Molly is dating. She's dating Austin Rivers because she's defending that nonsense that he was saying, just like how she was defending half that nonsense that Jalen used to be spewing before he got fired.
I played both and to me nothin can compare to football cuz of the collisions.. the NBA players can't just hop on a NFL field without getting broke up🤣🤣
All I know is I used to play tackle football on the street,, and got hurt more playing basketball then football!! And these guys wear protection gear! And got referee’s protecting them, lame!!!
Someone really needs to make a video of someone getting decleated in the NFL then showing guys like Lebron flopping after getting lightly bumped and crying about contact
Just take a step back and REALLY understand IN COMPARISON something that we have already seen, and that’s Ngannou vs Joshua, Francis is a champion in the UFC but when you threw him in there with a professional seasoned boxer he got destroyed. It’s science, if I do something all my life and push it to the highest possible level then just respect it. It was no reason for Austin Rivers to have said that and doubled down with conviction like it was just pure facts.
The whole "basketball is soft" quote needs to stop. If I'm shooting at an "18 goal and my arm is hit that affects the chances exponentially. That's the protest that is coined "crying/flopping/soft" so the debate at it's basis is stupid! Running into people at full speed is also stupid.. Wouldn't you want a skilled worker to remodel your home, or just someone who runs through bricks? Case rested!
I respect both so much because ; the condition you have to be in just to qualify to be in the NBA or NFL . In my opinion I think NFL players would adapt a little easier to the NBA solely because of contact . Running & jumping is one thing , getting hit by 300 lb men running full speed is a TOTALLY different thing
Shannon hit the nail on the head with the skill comment that’s really what Austin was saying I can grab a fast and athletic NBA guy and ask him to beat a DB and catch a football a football player has to learn not to travel, double dribble and shoot a basketball…..lol
