The show I can honestly take or leave. It was alright, but Ultimate honestly engaged me better. What I hold to close to me even after sorta leaving this anime behind was this music. Yasushi Ishii is an unsung genius of music. His compositions touch my soul in ways most musicians can only wish they could. His music is such expressive, powerful embodiment of raw emotion, composed with an identity unmistakable in it's unique charisma. I don't just respect Yasushi Ishii. I don't just adore his music. I find myself inspired by him. To be in such contact to one's own inner self to elicit such a pure expression of the soul like he does in his music, it's a dream worth chasing, honestly. I really like this soundtrack, is what I'm trying to say!
You listen to this song, and this picture comes to mind: You had a really nasty spill, and your head's still spinning, but the sun is about to set, and you set out, with nothing but the clothes on your back, and an empty victory, though a victory all the same, clutched in your hands. You move forward and hold your head high with dignity.
The whole soundtrack of Hellsing is impressive, especially “Hellsing OST RUINS Track 7 Severe Gun Fight at the Hill of Casualties“, “Hellsing OST RUINS Track 11 The Japanese Alphabet Road With Chinese Bellflower's Sweet Smell“. You won't hear such masterpieces in present-day animes.
Didn’t the composer Yasushi Ishii go on to compose some songs on the Drifters soundtrack from 2016. I’d suggest checking that out if you want to see more of his work, though it’s not quite as legendary as his work on Hellsing.

When anime expo gave out mangas for free back in 2003 at the anaheim convention center cheering for Man Fey from cowboy bebop... i swear there should be an anime drag competition...
