I love that he talks about checking egos at the door. I am also a performer in a couple of dance troupes who have opened for and danced with bands on stage. I have been through the same things with people always having to be the one who is "right" I have that same attitude about working with others - like, "I know I'm not always right, so let me open my mind and actually LISTEN to this other person's idea and try it - could be great!" :)
This guy is my fucking inspiration. Like how in his other interview he said he was inspired by bands he grew up too. I'm lucky enough to be alive to enjoy the lyrics he writes. Right on dude you are the shit.
3:33 He has a very good point. We must learn from lessons in life. The key for me "and I believe others as well" is that is doesn't have to be YOUR Life or YOUR Mistakes, that you learn from. One can easily learn from OTHERS Life and Mistakes as well. Most just chose not to.
His eyes are mesmerizing, I get lost in them. So stoked the Bloodsimple dude has joined them, Bloodsimple is my shit! The new album is perfect. Haven't stopped listening to it. Come to AZ dammit!!
I am a fan of all the muisic,i dig Rebel Meets Rebel,Damageplan was all tight, but Pantera was very very hard to be topped.I just don't dig Hellyeah. I have their first album,i have heard their other albums but it just does not seem to be crunchy ya know? But i like the old Mudvayne, when i got turned onto them at like 11.That's alright, but i just am not too big on the whole Hellyeah sound. Hell even Nothingface had some decent stuff.I don't know it's just my opinion.
Indeed!! Imo every bit of a top 3 vocalist over last 10 -15 yrs as far as the heavy types of shit i dig on. Hell id even say for me possibly #1 maybe. Those screams man. Damn!!
Does anyone remember the Red Rooster from the WWF in the eighties? My God. I Was so angry about Dime being murdered that I'd gotten a Hellyeah tattoo by the second album....had to get it modified a bit because I'm just not really into this band anymore. I will always love Metal however all the best shit has been done now. Maybe this comment will inspire a metal band to write an epic album again one day. I'm not taking sides but I tracked Phil Anselmo down when he was in Australia in March this year and he was the sweetest guy....EGO's just get in the way and that was why Pantera died:( Vinnie described it perfectly...."We were a machine" And "They" were....they "were"
I'm really surprised Hellyeah isn't sponsored by Kotex or Stayfree maxi pads with the amount of whining, bitching and moaning Chad Gray does in his songs.
