Eomer is quite the character. He could have been a protagonist of his own right. But that's Tolkien for you - He's the best world builder author there ever was!
@@NerdoftheRings Thanks for replying Matt. It's like a dream come true. Loads of love from India. Nerd of The Rings is my entire friend groups' favorite channel as we too are ringheads😇
@@TolkienAnswers They chose to create a BTS set over a Minas Tirith set in the latest round of Ideas. I hope that is because they are bringing the theme back because that was outrageous and unfair.
United Cutlery is amazing. I have Anduril, Sword of King Elessar, and it is very impressive. Huge, extremely well built. If I sharpened it, Im sure it could be used, but it hangs on my wall conquering all my friends envy meters instead. Great products and very reasonable prices.
yeah you could use it, if it has a tang (part that goes into the handle) that goes at least halfway into the handle it will be strong enough likely, however, i doubt it is hardened and it will lose its edge extremely quickly after sharpened
The: Now is the hour, riders of Rohan! speech from Eomer in the films always give me chills, one of my favorite lines from the movie with the awesome music behind it.
@@NerdoftheRings ah! Haven’t read the book in about 18 years, my copy of the combined editions completely fell apart from reading it so much! It was the one that has one of the Nazghoul on the horse on the front cover.
I really wish we got to see Eomer, Gimli and Gamling defend the Glittering caves that also would've have been spectacular! But some things must be cut and changed understandably
@@Jostyy “Gamling the Old”... They made him not so old in the films... my favorite part was when they were all rushing Minas Tirith, and the look on Gothmog (and his lieutenant’s) face, that look of utter #DISMAY, bahahaw! When Eomer and Gamling approached, and Eomer had that wicked looking four-pronged SPIKE! I also loved the sound when the two armies clashed... they did a similar thing in “the lion the witch and the wardrobe”, they did a pretty good job on the first two movies but they totally wrecked “voyage of the green mist that did not exist in any of the novels”... 🤪
United Cutlery also a nice collection of other LOTR merchandise: The Mace Of Sauron And Ring Red Eye Edition With War Banner, The sword of Théodred, fallen son of King Théoden. Théodred ‘s sword was the mate to the sword of Éowyn, his cousin., Sword of Strider, Herugrim Sword of King Theoden, Horn Of Gondor to name a few.
I love the fact that its got the actual horsetail feature on it. Everything about it is fantastic, but that was something I thought they hadn't included when I initially saw it out of the box, but I'm glad it actually does have it.
I agree, the base takes it to a completely different level when compared to Gimli's base. I really like that you're showing the comparison between your other collectibles.
Incredible! I’d love to build up my collection of collectibles - I left my Gandalf the White Staff back in the UK (it was a childhood dream, and I pre-ordered it after one of my first paychecks from full time work) and I miss it so! Not to mention figures and statues - at least I brought some signed copies and first editions of Middle-earth literature with me!!
Love your face when opening this 😅I have that same look of wonder and joy it's such a cool thing. Fun fact; these helmets were based on celtic and Anglo saxon types found throughout a lot of our history. One of my favourites is an old helmet based in Colchester Castle museum, similiar shape without the awesome Rohirrim upgrades 😊guaranteed I'd wear that everywhere haha
Oh, man! Love that you made this! We should get together and talk about these. My friends call my room an Armory! haha. I have been collecting them for about 20 years. I have over 30 of the Replicas some you can't buy anymore. just started reviewing my collection on my channel too last month! I love that you are doing this! Very cool!!! Keep up the awesome videos my friend! Love them all!!! I loved the Sting joke haha. When I got the helmet it also did not fit my head... I feel you bro. lol I also love Dwarves and Rohan ;)
Karl Urban forever to me will be Eomer. He clutched the win along with the Gandalf at the end of Two Towers and that spear throw against the Mumakil rider was epic!!!
This was pretty cool! I’m not sure if you’ve already done this but it would be cool to see an overall collection of weta inspired props from the movies. I’m super sad I never got a letter opener “hadhafang” sword when they were available but I was like 8-10 when the movies released and I didn’t have my own money haha. I did convince my parents to buy me the evenstar necklace for my birthday though!
If you thought that box was huge, the box of the Helm of Dain Ironfoot from the Hobbit is probably 2-3x that size. I had to throw it out bc I live in an apt and have no storage space. But I'm never gonna sell it anyways!
I LOVE how he says that he does not have his pocket knife and then he comes back into frame with a sword which I think is Sting - bilbos and frodos sword.
cool video matt as a weapon collector I have sting and gimlis bearded axe want eventually get theoden' eomer and eowyns sword loved the vid and looking forward to the next one
I like this helmet but I'm gonna wait until the new Theoden helmet is released... it is GLORIOUS... I'm running out of room for LOTR collectibles so only room for 1 more.
That helmet looks neat! You have to use the chin strap (rather tight) to distribute the weight of the helmet better so it´s more comfortable while wearing and you´ll have to get the part above they eyes right on your eyebrows for it to be worn correctly. Also it has the shape like early brass helmets of the romans (Montefortino helmet) so the egg shape is perfectly normal and practical for a good and protective helmet.
If i'm not mistaken the issue is that the helmet simply doesn't come right down to the eyebrows, and neither did the original Weta model as it rides a bit too high on the actor who played Eomer as well. Tobias Capwell pointed this out in his critique of medieval weapons and armor in historical and fantasy cinema. (video from Insider and you can find it here on RU-vid).
@@maxion5109 Yeah you´re right, i saw that video aswell. Don´t know if it´s the helmet itself not allowing to be worn right or if the actor of Eomer (or PJ) didn´t want the helmet so far down so the audience could see his face better.
"I don't have my pocket-knife..." returns with Sting and proceeds to cut tape like a knife through butter... or an elvish blade through spider webs! :D
"It is speculated that after the fall of Sauron, the kingdoms of Gondor and Rohan united under the Nerd of the Rings. Where he would wage war against the Hobbits, this is because they were the size of small children, and a good child is a dead one." - Tolkien
Haha! I genuinely in that moment realized I didn't have my actual pocket knife and had a moment of inspiration. I promise I didn't plan that ahead of time. haha!
Absolutely love this!! No way will I ever own that helm but it is incredible! Am a huge fan of Rohan, own a large flag and a sword but thats about it hah maybe one day I'll wear that helm :) A1 sir! Brilliant
"Huge fan of helmets"... perhaps you meant helms, and not baseball or football helmets? Anyhow, im also a huge fan, i have about 15 different swords, axes, and helms from UC. Your a "huge fan", i would love to see a room(s) tour of your collection!
So hopefully there are no collectible "loin cloths". Sorry, I couldn't help myself 😁. No, these look cool. Honestly I would be very interested if there was a replica of Sam's cooking pot and perhaps other cooking gear he had in the movie. Everyone have a great day 🌤 😊.
United Cutlery has the helmet for a list price of $664.00. The link you shared and on I found on Amazon offer it at around $360. What the deal on that level of a discount? Still United Cutlery?
What is it made from? Is it resin? I'd like to collect these pieces, but I don't have the money. When you actually put real armor on, you get a true appreciation for what medieval warriors went through in battle. 😬
Great video, thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of adding this helmet to my collection. Can you tell me the dimensions of the helmet on the stand please?
I thought that too as I read the Silmarillion several times, The Children of Húrin is perhaps my favourite Tolkien's tale! I would love to have it if they would make it but...I haven't the money to buy any replica 🥲.
