You get used to learning them. Walking courses helps. And I hope you really enjoy riding as much as I do!! I own a couple of ponies that I do jumpers & hunters with! And I practice XC on occasion. It’s a blast!

I have to say, you are lucky to continue doing what you enjoy during Covid. Staying active, healthy, and positive, despite the loss of your working student to injury and all that weird stuff that happened all-at-once, last month. 👍

Just try it! Often there's tons of different difficulties of fences. You can always just only do some small logs to start off with (that's what I did)

@@patch-work yeah I definitely do recommend going with a trainer the first few times. They can really help you, riding wise but also mentally sometimes!

Think of it as an exciting eventful hack. Start slowly through some courses until you and your horse feel it instinctually. Have fun, but wear gear!

@@liekevertegaal5600 definitely! I also would probably have to take her with me beacuse I don't have my own horse sadly I ride hers! :) (like a barn sorta) it's nothing fancy but I love it! My family doesn't have much money but that ok ^ ^

If she didn't there would probably be a lot more injuries lol she probably just does a few laps in different gaits and then does a warm up fence if they have one.

@@clairecakes9860 well yea and ive seen other people in her videos off to the side doing warm up. Just curious to see what she does for her specific animals.

event horses are warmed up right before each discipline, so three separate times for the three disciplines. there is usually a fence for every level so that upper levels can warm up, bn, novice, training, prelim. elisa may also stretch their legs and necks on the ground before she tacks up. i event at a much lower level (novice) but i usually spend 30 minutes warming up for dressage, 20 minutes warming up for stadium and 25 minutes warming up for xc.

@@WallaceEventing indeed he was not rushing his fences and for the exception of one, was comfortable waiting for his distances, oh and the finish, he thought he was only halfway done.🤣 It just seemed to me some of the fences were the same as intermediate...?💜🇺🇸

Yeah the lead was figured out to be important because of balance. Wrong lead= harder to move and turn= less mobility, momentum, and less supple canter and jumps over all

Chloe wordsworth vlogs the correct lead is not as important at the lower levels, but as you get higher in the levels, it becomes more important for the sharper turns
