Help!! Can I ever stop my dog from chasing cats? 

My cat’s come for walks with me and my two dogs, one is old and learnt not to chase cats or our chickens, however, the other is 9 months and will accept the cats walking along with us out in the woods because he wears an ecollar to protect deer, etc but if the cats were in the garden will give chase or poke the cats in an attempt to get them to run! Work in progress. Sadly although, when with me the pup will stop running at the chicken fence, whilst I was out my teenager was playing frisbee with the pup when he decided to grab a chicken through the fence! I don’t like him to wear the ecollar in the garden or house.

@@ThePenguin369 the dog is enjoying itself, there are no signs of the dog not enjoying itself. Can you point your evidence out specifically please? Just because behaviour is ‘ all natural’ does not make it okay. We all have guidelines on a shared society for a reason. Dogs are predators, that is natural, does that mean we allow them to hunt and kill other animals and wildlife? I never asked for your opinion on my qualifications. I don’t know you and wouldn’t hold much weight on your opinion. I also don’t care much where you want to place yourself in comparison to me. That’s your issue. If you think this dog is unhappy in the video, please share your diagnostic differentials for us all to see of how you came to this conclusion.

@@ThePenguin369 okay , so no evidence in this video. You can’t resolve genetic attributes that negatively impacts society with treats. That is scientifically proven. How do you prepose this is dealt with? Can you offer a solution that guarantees the same results as above. When the dog was shaking in this previous video, did they get over it? Because a certain amount of stress ( pushed over threshold) in necessary to modify behaviours. Positive only and treat training is the most widely abused methodology in the modern era. For the most part it is done incorrectly, it is also used as a fix for all problems, frankly not It’s a systemic cancer damaging humans and dogs, pushing the relationship further away. Traumatised humans bleeding over onto to dogs is an even bigger abuse and it’s happening in most homes. So to honest, think the above video is the least of all our concerns.

Have you had any luck ? I've just got a 15 week old puppie never seen cats or any other animal before only other puppies from the litter and the mother but it seems to be fixated on the cat and doesn't listen when i say no or call its name to distract it its like it can't hear anything when I speak my previous dogs have been fine and listened ect and loved the cat but this one seems the complete opposite the other dogs would play a little and sleep right by the cat on the bed ect but this one seems like it's not wanting to play more like eat them

@@OldStyleGarage How is your situation going? I rescued a stray cat and for a while, my dog wanted to eat her, she hated the cat with all her being, her hair would stand up and she would foam at the mouth. Now they don't get along but they tolerate each other. My dog loves to tease her, when she thinks no one is watching she goes all out to snout at the cat and then runs away. The cat is smart, when she discovers that the dog is approaching she lifts her paw slightly and the dog knows she is going to scratch her so she goes away. If you need help on how to make both pets tolerate each other I can help you. Unfortunately, since then my dog hates stray cats and whenever she sees one in the street she wants to eat them. But at least she doesn't eat the 3 cats I have at home, I kept adopting more cats.

@@buuuuuh365 now they have got used to each other they are basically inseparable always sleeping next to each other and following each other around and getting along great

@@OldStyleGarage that's great!!! how nice that they love each other and love each other!!!! I wish my cats and dog got along the same way but since they are all females and cocky, they all want to be the center of attention ;')
