The main thing on the list is! Take care of Michael! What does Michael want to do! You are such a great person. You are putting to much on yourself. Take time to figure out what you want.
You know Michael.. you saying hello, welcome back & smiling is all we need. After all .. it was your line! It can be The Petherick welcome ☺️ Don’t stress over it, honestly. Making lists is good, writing things down helps to get it off your brain. Look after yourself & take your time .. you know we’re all here as & when you’re ready 😊 Love the phone .. reminds me of Det Petherick 🥰 Hugs ❤️
Yep absolutely, all the negative nancies about what he should be doing as in work and videos can go jump, and anyone worrying about what he does with any funding just need not support !!
OMG I love the throw back to Stephanie's and your phone conversations in the early days. Fun video. Looks like you are having fun and not nervous and uptight. Keep going Michael.
It's a delight to have you back Michael. Just stay being your natural self, I think that is what we all love about your family and most importantly take care of yourself. From South Australia 🇦🇺 x
We love you, Michael. Just pick up the camera, and say hello. Your smile and Florien's smile are addictive!!! Lists are great! Keep the videos coming.....
I am so happy that you are beginning to make more posts. I have missed you. One thing, do not let the unkind people get you down. Sometimes people can be so ugly...
Michael. Billy and Sadie both say "Welcome back to another video" at the beginning of their vlogs, and I see nothing wrong with you saying the same thing, too! It feels right. They each say something different to end their videos, so you can find something different as well. I for one like to be welcomed back to all the Petherick vlogs, so that should be one less, really minor, thing for you to worry about! xoxo
Yes Michael, welcome folks back any way you want to. Hundreds of tubers say the same thing over and over again. It's not a competition!!! If you really want to be original... BE YOU! Know that I care. Just be interested in what you are doing and saying and that will shine in your eyes and we'll see you.🤗🤗🤗💗💗💗🌈💜💜💜 Courage to be. Love you 😘
Hi Michael I think Roman blinds in the bedroom windows will work well as they have a lining and it can also be blockout lining with a fabric of your choice on the side facing the bedroom. It will work and look better than curtains in such a tiny window.
Agree with other viewers. “Hello. Welcome back,” with your charming smile is great. No worries if others say it. You are you and your warm personality makes it work for you.
Hey Michael, I diagnose ADHD in adults and they are often intellectually and creatively gifted people - which fits you for sure! They are also masterful at multi-tasking as long as they have help keeping things on track. I love the list idea, and it's possible the RU-vid channel can also be a tool for keeping you on track with your goals. I hope Chris has copyrighted/patented his idea because he just spilled it to 9k people. Just wondering if you've considered using a Victorian spiral staircase in the cottage? Thanks for your content. I love it.
Lists are quite useful but need to be attainable, otherwise they can become self defeating. I’ve worked with children ,teens and adults with ADHD besides having it myself. A problem I found with lists , while they are great for self organization, is we all think we can achieve more than we possibly can and if we can’t finish the lists we’re setting ourselves up for self loathing and negative internal dialogue. Words often told to me from childhood and young adult were worthless, stupid, lazy, never amount to anything, as an example, and these words can pop up whenever I didn’t achieve the expectations of the lists . So I was making self defeating lists and it was a vicious circle until I learned to make lists I could achieve and encouraged positive self dialogue. It took a long to identify and rectify the problem but so worth it .
@jillipepper, so true! I'd beat myself up when I couldn't finish my list. Once I learned to prioritize my daily, weekly, monthly, etc goals and to give myself room for flexibility, lists became the tool I need them to be.
@@jillipepper5353 You have great points here, writing lists is a talent in itself. Having realistic timeframes for each tasks is difficult when so many factors can skew it, and things get out of hand fast. By my own experience I would say add 25% more time than what you wrote in the first draft, and move one task to another day or delegate it to someone.
I was wondering how he planned on getting a wardrobe up into the bedroom, especially if he puts in a wall next to where the stairs are going. We'll just have to wait and see.
I like lists but I have to do them as a mind map as a linear one doesn’t help. My main problem is remembering I wrote the list…..it’s also vital as others have said to understand what is reasonable to achieve and to then stop and not pile guilt on. Just because it is on a list doesn’t mean it is a today job. And self care things like cutting toenails need to be on the list too. Looking after yourself takes time and energy and needs to be budgeted for in any day not pushed aside because something else seems more important. I saw a doctor this week to ask for referral for adhd assessment. I’m worried enough that I might lose my job over this if I can’t get some help. He did refer me, with a warning the waiting list is years. And then helpfully told me he didn’t believe in adhd and wanted to write a paper about it being made up. Wish he could live my life for a day. And I hope he steps on Lego.
Just a small suggestion that works wonders for my nephew and that is finish one task if possible before moving forward. Such as you stripped the bedding but failed to put the fresh linens but on. If may sound silly but staying focused even on mundane helps keep the chaos at bay. Jesse says having adhd is like having a constant party going on in his head. Good luck with your treatment. Wishing you good health
Raclette! I had it as a kid in Germany on a trip and have missed it ever since. Just a suggestion, make the door to the bedroom a pocket door into the new wall. That way the door won't take up any space on the landing or in the room. Also, I still love the idea of the space between the two posts and the walls being open book/treasure shelves.
Glad for the update Michael, thank you. Wondering how you will get a large wardrobe up the stairs once a new wall in constructed by the stairs… unless the wardrobe is unassembled downstairs & re-assembled upstairs? The reason I ask, is because our first home was a house about 75 years old & had a gambrel roof. Getting dressers & mattresses up the stairs, & around the wall was such a struggle… Take care Michael and thank you for sharing your medical issues with us. 😘
I’ve lived in apartments so long that I’m happy if the only food smells in my room are from my own cooking. 😂 There’s a product called Pure Citrus that immediately removes food smells. The one I get smells of oranges. It’s a really natural smell. My favorite thing to smell is orange. I had wondered what you would do for a wardrobe. Meantime you can be king in the castle. I’d love to see you do rooms in the chateau. Especially the one with the huge gothic bed that Billy didn’t finish. It’s a shame they have given up on finishing the chateau. It needs someone to love it.
Holy Smokes. I bought one of these cooking grill things at a yard sale in the US years ago. I never knew what the heck it was until now. I bought it because it looked like fun. THANK YOU. I'll have to get it out and try it. 🤤
It is wonderful to have your videos to look forward to, Michael. I have to say that Florian is the sweetest person imaginable: he's always so amenable to everything and just gentle and calm. I love watching the two of you working as I think you compliment each other well. Great work in your cottage, too. Take good care of yourself 💕
Dear Michael, lovely to see another video from you. It really doesn't matter how you start, it could be with a question for all of us, it could be just a big grin. We will all love it anyway. Loved the telephone humour, shows both your personalities. Chris seems to be a clever chap and really nice too. Using lists is a great way of organising your daily life, so long as you don't put pressure on yourself. They get done when they get done. It is the satisfaction of achievement and that important tick at the end. We all need lists. The cottage is looking lovely, hope you finish it soon so you can wake up to the sounds of the garden in spring.
You were already handsome and looked great on camera. But your skin and the brightness of your eyes is pretty remarkable. Super jealous, you need to bottle that recipe.😊
I love racklett. Of all places, I was introduced to it in Saudi Arabia. Spotted in a supermarket and thereafter enjoyed many an expat gathering while cooking all sorts of treats on it. Good to see you back.
Oh My friends and I love Raquelette!! It is a fun party food. We go to Quebec for the best ones but also at home. So happy to see you and Florian enjoying it!! 🇨🇦
One day at a time Michael and you will have all together is what I tell myself and then enjoy what you are doing for you. We will be here. Love your channel.
Michael, there was absolutely nothing wrong with all your previous DIY videos....we loved them and we missed you so much! I'm going to put myself out on a limb now and suggest that you don't dwell on the ADHD cloud over you....you know I think we all have a form of it or something similar....just talk to us like our Michael did before and don't worry about getting everything perfect. Just following you around as you do your jobs with great music and a few words here and there is enough! I have to say I'm nervous watching you now, because I feel bad that you've been saddled with that label. There's too much talk about it and personally I think it can ruin a person. I do hope I'm not stepping out of line here, but I had to say something forthright....we love Michael, the artist, chef, musician and more....that's all we need! Stay strong and stay Michael. You are loved!
There's a big difference between being "saddled with a label" that's a "cloud over you" and "can ruin a person", and struggling without knowing why your whole life and finally getting a diagnosis, support, and treatment. I feel like you mean well but it's presumptuous to treat somebody else's diagnosis like a burden or a negative thing. It's Michael's journey, and how he feels about it is what matters.
List are great! I live off a daily list. Just remember, if your list isn't complete its not the end of the world! And if I complete something thats not on the list, I add it and mark it off. Its your list, you control it. Don't let it control you and make you feel defeated!
We have raclette in Canada. It came from Switzerland. It is a wonderful way of eating that encourages a slow meal with conversation, wine and company. Wonderful.
Good to have you back Michael. Always a pleasure to see Florian, he is a real sweetheart. I know what you mean about cooking odours lingering, especially in the bedroom. Take good care of yourself. Thanks🙏🏻❤️
One step at a time. One room at a time. One item at a time. One day at a time. Each accomplishment brings a good feeling. You do you Michael. Your the only one that can.
Lists are great. I took Wellbrutin & it really helped get things done. I discovered that you can use dry erase or washable markers on a stainless steel refrigerator for my grocery list. Lol, then I photograph it.
So happy to see you , you are looking great. I am excited for your secret project, I bet someone saw your abilities and couldn’t wait to work with you.Michael any way you want to present your videos is good with me, I have just missed you.
🥰💕Great to see you back Michael. Great to see Florian & Chris join you. While I’m cooking & after dinner is over I run the hood fan over my stove to help get the food smell out. I always shut my bedroom door while cooking so my bedroom & my clothes don’t get filled with food smells. It’s a real pet peeve of mine. Can’t wait to see the upstairs all finished. 🥰💕
Lovely to see you Micheal as always, we are always here whenever you do a video, we who follow you love the Petherick clan and it’s always a pleasure to see you ,great idea to make lists to follow, keeps you organised, lovely to see Florian, he’s a good friend, don’t put too much pressure on yourself honey, take care of you, loads of love xxxxxxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I live by lists. I need them for my job, I'm a Pa at a university, but also at home to remind of what jobs I have to do. Also love a good list when going on holiday so I don't forget anything 😁
As a fellow ADHD diagnosée, my tip to you when it comes to planning - always put lunch and dinner on your schedule! I always forget, when I have a bunch of stuff to do, that I also need to stop and eat and have a rest, so I don't crash. XD
Michael, I have Severe ADHD it is manageable you will get there I was diagnosed as a child and have learned tricks my whole life. But, lists are my best friend. I make them on my phone that way I have them with me always. You can do this, I have faith in you. It will get easier. Glad to see you back at it. I have missed your video's.
Welcome back, Michael!!! Good to see you moving forward. Enjoyed seeing the work on the cottage's bedroom. The "humble" and delicious looking dinner with baked potatoes, melted cheese and meat made me hungry!!! See you in a bit, then.
I'm with you on this Michael! I cannot stand cooking odours in the bedroom , couldn't sleep in it at all . Good luck with the renovations, the cottage is looking great 👍
Michael you're going to be so much more productive on the meds! I was also diagnosed latw in life with ADHD. The meds help so much. In my case it also gives me so much energy. You're going to be even more brilliant now!
Hi Michael! So nice to see you and doing well. The list is a must, I put mine on a spread sheet. It works. I can see putting up a wall in that area too. It is going to make heating the area harder. Keep up the work and it will all be done soon and you will be able to enjoy your cottage.
I am so happy to see you working back on your cottage. Just take things a bit at a time. Your health and wellness is more important than any video. Wishing you great success in finishing your cottage.
Michael, it is so good to see you. I'm glad Florian is back to help you. Good luck with your lists. I hope they give you a better sense of direction and accomplishment. Do take care of yourself. We all love you a great deal.
I love raclette!! My parents used to have it every so often as a treat for themselves and I always thought it was so stinky until I tasted it myself and now I love it 😂
So weird how to melt the cheese! We don't have that type of thing in the US. Thank you and Florien for sharing such interesting things with us. Glad you're both back!
Micheal, so happy to see and hear from you. You are a blessing to me. I always enjoy your vlogs. Be encouraged you are loved by so many of us. Hugs from Ohio USA💞
Nice to see you, Michael. Lists are very helpful, and they make me feel like I'm accomplishing something, even if it's just a bit of laundry or making the bed in the morning. Please tell Florian congratulations on his massive paper/book project. That's quite an achievement. I do agree that it's odd to see the cottage empty, but it's great that you're getting on with the work upstairs. I look forward to seeing how everything comes together in the future, and your further adventures!
Love that you have taken the suggestion to make lists and it will most certainly help you. There is a little more too it when you have ADHD so that the lists don't become a burden or overwhelming. I will send you a follow up email (assuming you read the first one LOL) on effective use of the list making.
I too am ADHD. I seem to going in three directions at the same time. I am at least double your age. It has really worked to my benefit. I can multitask and work circles around others half my age. BUT it took YEARS of learning to work with, understand my weaknesses and how to compensate for them. I am very creative, bright, and my husband says I am too busy all the time, but is just how I roll. Learn to use your special gift to your advantage and will be unstoppable! Blessings to you. PS, Florian seems to be such a sweet guy and a great friend.
Michael, I am an adult with ADHD... I have studied and took courses in college to help with organizational skills and merting my degree. Making your list is 👍, Do The Task You Don't Want To Do First.😊 I have found the other items on my list go much smoother... The reasoning behind this is that we procrastinate, by getting it out of the way, makes doing the smaller tasks not as daunting. When making my list either on my phone or on a piece of paper I break it down to the smallest chore put the dishes away, cross off, take out the trash, put a new liner in the trash can... In the beginning this can help you focus breaking down the task and to cross it off the list is a feeling of accomplishment. My last piece of advice is to have God as your partner on this very bumpy and sometimes unorganized journey we call life. God Bless you. So glad to see your videos.😊
Glad Micheal took the time to enjoy this past Christmas. So sad to hear he pretty much missed last year’s Christmas. This year our family was too stressed about gifts and the food and we didn’t have as much time to enjoy the season. I told them that’s enough. No one really needs anything and we will also pare down the menu next year so we can relax more.
Totally agree smells of cooking is a turn off for sure. Nice to see you back Michael you are looking good xx, Love to see you finish upstairs . Loved watching xx
I have ADHD and I am 72 and went through heck when I was young before anyone had heard of it. My son has it also. Glad you have been diagnosed now so you know what help you can get and know what you can do for yourself. Which brings me to list making. I make a list most days. So times multiple ones. They keep me focused and I feel better at the end of day when I see I have not wasted my day going in circles. I always include a combination of short and long task so I can cross off a few short things in-between the long ones. You take care and remember there are many like us with the same struggles. ❤
I can see the medication working for you. Last week you were starting to calm, this week you are calmer again. I hope that you are able to find you as you stabilise! Sending positive thoughts to you c
Hi Michael, great to see you! I'm with you on the smells of cooking, I close our bedroom doors as well! I love your original opening line in your videos, it's so familiar & genuine, but whatever works for you! Thank you for sharing, take really good care of yourself, stay well! Much love Kathy x 💖
Your skin looks amazing! I am so appreciative that you are sharing your journey with us. Cheering you on! And I'll be happy to come live in the chateau, would hate for it to stay so empty.
Just say Hello everyone and give us a big smile that’s all we need to see is your handsome face and beautiful blue eyes. Yes I think you should take over the Chateau and start running it as a bed and breakfast or use it as a hotel. It is to beautiful to let sit empty with you only staying in it. After the cottage is done you can start on the chateau rooms. Hope your secret project works out for it. Love Florian and would love to try the potato and cheese melt. What is that cooker called again I would love to purchase one.
Your videos are always enjoyable Michael! I haven't got ADHD (that I know of) and also find list useful, particularly if I'm a bit bored but want something to do. Even when progress feels slow in the cottage, it's so much better than when it was almost crumbling!
So pleased to see you back Michael ❤️ We have a grill/raclette like that (very similar) you can cook thin pieces of beef or chicken on top oil if needed so doesn’t stick. It’s really delicious. Keep going Michael it’s brilliant to see you again ❤️
It’s always exciting to see a Video from you, but int put pressure on yourself. When ever you can, you can great if not, it’s ok, your well-being is more important than anything. Your true fans will understand. 🥰💞
Oh how we love our raclette here in Quebec. Thanks for the reminder, lovely outside during the summer on the terrace. You are so right Florian you adapt what you like with it.
Read the Bullet Journal-it was developed by someone w/ADHD!! It works! I know, because I was diagnosed w/ADHD too, and I've worked for years to combine a calendar, paper organizer, lists, etc. The real Bullet Journal does that. It is not the overly decorated youtubes' you see-it's actually an amazing organizing, list, calendar system!! Mine is NOT decorated-but I've kept it for 3 years & it works😊!! You are an amazing artist, friend to many & blogger, keep up your fabulous job!!
