@Lady Izdihar I went to donate to the campaign, but it has already met it's goal, I'm so glad people came together to make this happen for you! Can't wait to see some of the good stuff you've got to upload.
just noticed looking at the page for the scanner you're looking to get that it outputs images in .jpg format which is prone to compression artifacts. would probably be worth looking some more to find one that scans directly to .tiff format which is lossless, though i wouldn't know the price difference and might not be worth it cost-wise
You can use an android app called Vflat. It's very easy to use and can natively convert to OCR. You might want a tripod so you don't have to hold it but it's not necessary.
This is an important project to preserve Soviet history for both posterity and so that current Marxists can learn from both the historical successes and failures of previous socialist experiences. I wish you good fortune, comrade. ✊🏼
I currently have no money but a bunch of old books of first hand accounts of the USSR. Maybe I can donate those to you to use them in your future projects instead?
Peace be upon you, comrade. Congrats on achieving the goal already! It is very hard to come across any sources that are not published by western corporations when researching primary sources from the soviet era regarding its politics and peoples. The English language repertoire still in circulation on this matter is sadly riddled with anticommunist accounts presented as scientific and fully truthful. Pro-soviet voices of the time of common citizens and workers deserve to be heard, too. This project will be a game changer!
Every time I see you you're always engaged in good work. Very commendable, easily among the best content creators on this site it seems. Good luck with your Gofundme, I'll be glad to contribute if I can afford it.
