I'm a 1st year apprentice electrician after graduating my pre apprenticeship program. I landed a job before graduating. I've got almost a year done of my apprenticeship and man I must say if you're partying the night before you go to the jobsite...you will not be able to soak in knowledge very well and you could very well end up hurt or somebody else ends up hurt. I still do my thing on weekends and even that I want to stop. Soak in every bit of knowledge, ask questions, anticipate need and perform safely to the best of your ability!
Love your videos man! I’m starting my apprenticeship next week but through the local union so I know not everything will translate but still love your work ethic and your knowledge base!
Love you videos, But if it is close to me, a drill is getting used to screw the outlet into the box, I happen to think I am a very good journeyman electrician. If it's not by me, I don't go out of my way to get it .
jarry Dee We, as tradesmen, know reaching for a drill to device out is wrong. I know every time I attempt to take a short cut, a little voice inside me tells me I’m being a hack. I started listening to that voice a long time ago and have never regretted it.
Lot of people may not appreciate the point of your videos but only the wise ones will. If we only had bosses like you who cared for their new apprentices then we would have great future electricians. But unfortunately you are maybe one in a million who cares and the rest of em only care for their pockets. Which is why so many people leave the trade and lose hope. I wish to become a great electrician like yourself and pass the torch to many more.
@@DonaldMillerElectric yeah that is true. I want to become electrician but have zero experience and feel like the union is a good start. But I also feel like the small company's can also teach you well. So I'm not sure which one benefits me.
@@zlab1904 Unions have a good education program, but u are handcuffed to the process. Non union will be based on your motivation to follow through and navigate your own success path. It’s a very personal question that only you can answer. I’m grateful I chose the path I chose, but it’s not for everyone. Good luck
