When you washed the walls it reminded me of when my then toddler sat near a window in a high chair. It was the only place to put her and allow us to move around. Velvet curtains were very much on trend 🇬🇧1984 and I made mine in dusky pink. Did I mention my daughter loved yoghurt ? The fabric was sold as dry clean only. They lied. It was washed many times!

I definitely agree that decluttering and going more minimal (whatever that looks like for you) makes a huge difference. I have decluttered over 8 thousand items from my home and I'm still going. Decluttering the excess is really helping my home become easier to manage. Thanks for the cleaning motivation! 🧼🫧🧹

I would spend an entire day cleaning my kids room, about once every six months. (Then, afterwards could manage daily spot cleaning.) I used a blanket, and would dump all their toys, which had baskets/bins to keep like items. I would wash the toys and the baskets, pick out unused, baby, or broken toys in the process. Then would vacuum every corner, carpet shampoo once a year. Clean window, wash curtains and all blankets. Then decorate, for presentation purposes. The kids absolutely loved it when I cleaned like this, spending hours in their room afterwards, rediscovering their things!

As a fellow Mama of 3, I truly understand the situation! When the kids are young, it is so hard to keep up! Your serie portraits real life situation, nobody wants to live in clutter or filth, nobody is lazy or dirty, but sometimes becomes overwhelmed. The fear of being judged, to not aloud themselves to ask for help, even if it's 'just' a room is at fault, so anyone asking for help has my respect! Keep up the great work! Also, my unsolicited tip against clutter: when my kids were very young. I would divide their toys in bins, and rotate the ones they had access to, so they would play with 'new' toys every couple of weeks! They were thrilled and I was not overwhelmed with games and toys!

When I used to use my carpet cleaner frequently, I’d use it on the tile floors, too! It worked really well! Also, if I can give one bit of advice to moms…NO food or drink outside of the kitchen. It really helps to prevent stained carpets and furniture which in turn cuts down on cleaning. 😊

I’ve been reusing the same Dawn PowerWash bottle and my DIY recipe for over a year. I do 4 TBS dawn, 3 TBS Rubbing Alcohol, 2 TBS Fabuloso and fill the rest with water. I like adding Fabuloso to cover the rubbing alcohol smell, and also because it’s a great cleaner. My DIY recipe smells soooo good and works amazing. I love it! :)

You did a great job on cleaning that carpet but you can see clearly that its an impractical flooring option for this family. What a wonderful gift of your time and efforts you are given Cambriea. I say after the work you completed it truly gave that motivation to this family to keep going. On the DAWN Powerwash make it yourself, yes, it works like a boss. 13 ounces of water, 2 ounces of dawn, 1 ounce of Isopropyl alcohol. Yes, its the cleaning agents that are important but I think the bottle which allows in air, which then foams the product is key, so a regular spray bottle wouldn't work.

that clear coat on the floor is scary. Great job, as usual. I am brutal with throwing stuff out. I set out to clean out one cabinet, the other day. Three cabinets, 4 full trashbags and a recycle bin later.... I love my stick vacuum, use it, on some floor, every day. I also have a dustpan and broom, don't use as much as in the past but still have it. We pulled up our carpets, years ago, and, like you, just have area rugs. So much easier to keep clean.

I've been making my own powerwash for a while now, now and then you have to buy a new spray bottle but it's nothing compared to buying the refills over and over! It definitely saves you a lot of money in the long run, and I highly recommend it! :-) there's lots of recipes you can find on RU-vid. The only difference between the two is you can smell the rubbing alcohol in the mixture, but it genuinely works just as good as the regular power wash for dishes, surfaces, and anything you use it on, I swear by it! It's good for the sink, and windows and mirrors. The rubbing alcohol in the mixture gets everything shiny as well as sanitizes whatever you use it on :-)

I have done the DIY Dawn power wash. I noticed it works best if you get the platinum version of Dawn. I’m still trying to get the ratio correct, because it doesn’t seem to work as good/foam as the OG when I follow the online recipes. I’m thinking maybe it needs more Dawn than the recipe I used calls for. BUT, the cost breakdown of 25-30 cents per bottle for the DIY version and the 4-5 dollars for the original, and less plastic waste is always a good thing.

Loved seeing the pup do the "pre vacuum" clean up for you. You made short work of those rooms! Love how the rug came out. 100% agree decluttering will make cleaning easier. If the mom doesn't want to do that, she should store some toys and rotate them so the kids have all the toys, but at any one time there are less for the kids to make a mess with. I am surprised at some of the things that are regular cleaning chores for you. Walls are definitely not on my list unless I see splatters and then that area gets cleaned. Love the scrubber as a piece of regular equipment. That would definitely encourage me to wash our bathtub area more often. Also windows. They are maybe twice a year. They seem to be regularly for you. Another great job.

I go over on the weekend and clean, she would stand behind me and tell me how she wanted it done, I turned around and said, "you know exactly what to do don't you, I guess I'll go home." The look of panic! She stopped telling me what to do. It took 16 hours just to do the kitchen, most of that 16 hours was washing dishes she had hidden all over her house. She never kept it up after I cleaned, she'd just call when she needed help again.
