One of my brothers moved to a spot fairly close to us this summer and we helped him get a little off grid cabin built to live in. Watch from the bare ground start to him being able to move in.

Join Fy Nyth on social media - mewe.com/i/fynyth ! If you are new to my channel and Fy Nyth (Welsh for "My Nest") in general, welcome! I'm Ariel. Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I've been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I'd love if you follow that over at mewe.com/join/... or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

Wonderful project to work on together. And so nice to have your brother close by. Wishing Micah well in his new venture! Also I admit to being amused by the tiny amount of rain--we had five inches of rain the other day which is nothing unusual here. It's so interesting to see how climates are different.

2024 Best Wishes to All. You might turn this spot into an 'earthship' (not a typo!!!) invented by Michael Reynolds in New Mexico, to really live off the grid. He now calls it 'biotecture' (not a typo!!!). This is a great design in order to have rainwater collection, indoor daily salad production, grey water collection for an outdoor garden cattail creek (cheap, fast production for alcohol production with the machine that David Blume (not a typo!!!) sells at his official website, please don't buy it from a competitor trying to put him out of business). Use only bio degrade able soap safe to use outside in grey water) sold at most big box stores or mailed to you once a week, or once a month or once a year called d r o p p s' made for the high end sweater industry in the 1980's. They sell it for the laundry machines and for the dishwasher machines. You could make your own vehicle fuel (like vodka, beer, wine, whiskey, like 'The Whiskey Rebellion' George Washington killed farmers who were competing with him in the lucrative Whiskey industry (common on most farms) and they refused to pay for George Washington's war against the British because most farmers could not afford those taxes and the elite could easily pay for their wars themselves. Henry Ford's first vehicle ran off of farm produced, plant based alcohol. Edison funded the alcohol Prohibition not because he cared about preventing alcoholism, but because he wanted to put his number one competitor, Henry Ford, out of business!!! Try to buy your plant based fuel machines (also for camping stoves using denatured alcohol, sold in many big box stores) at the official website of David Blume (not a typo!!!), author and film maker of 'Alcohol Can Be a Gas' started about 1979. He learned how to garden from his father in San Francisco (about 1930 first generation) then graduated with a degree in biology from San Francisco State University, about 1970. He was able to garden and feed about 400 people on about only one acre in Woodside (not a typo!!!), California. Good Day

The way he's got his bathroom set up that's a way better set up than having to go to an outhouse, I would hate to have to go to a outhouse at night, with Wildlife around! Being that he has to hall all of his water, will he have a garden? When I saw his path up to his property, I was wondering if he could potentially end up with a sloppy mud mess where his truck would get stuck! Will he eventually have to put Stone up the driveway? That's so nice that you all have each other to help, not only with big projects, but to spend time as a family! Now all he needs is a dog for companionship! 💕

When I was a kid, My aunt had no plumbing in her house. There was a "slop pail" in the kitchen where all the peelings from veggies went, as well as the dishwater and wash basin water went. That went out to a composting area. Soap was home made, so biodegradable. This is the way people lived in those times. We have become so pampered in the way we live now. In the past people lived much rougher.
