I did this exact same walk many years ago in atrocious weather. It rained the whole day. I love your content. Always learn something new, and your enthusiam is contagious. Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks so much Dominic! 😊 so sorry you had rubbish weather when you went on this walk! Hopefully you can get up Helvellyn again soon with good weather and can appreciate how beautiful the views are for yourself 😊👍
Wow so cool that you can walk on the narrow ridge of the mountains and see far for miles around The lake down and the river down below are both stunning! I can see why this is a very popular hike. Well done.
Excelente video! Gran entusiasmo. Se nota que disfrutan mucho. Gracias por las imágenes. Yo tengo también la olympus om-d e-m10 mark iv y el dji mini 2. Excellent work. Keep doing those beautiful videos. Greetings from Venezuela
Gracias Jorge! Wow it blows our minds that you are watching are videos from Venezuela!! The Olympus and the DJI Mini are great aren't they? Thanks so much for watching! Maybe we'll have a chance to visit and film in South America one day 😊
I' ve been up there some 20 years ago. The weather was lovely, but I didn't dare to cross the ridge. Panicked a bit and went back, even though it is not really dangerous for experienced hikers. A pity, it looks gorgeous up there!!
Great video! Incredible drone shots. We did this climb last year and made a video about it. Your video has shown that we definitely need a drone! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much guys! 😊 the views from up there are epic...you can see for miles in so many directions! Thanks for the sub! Heading over to check out your channel now 😊
There’s been a spate of deaths on striding edge lately, and I don’t feel like people give it the respect it deserves. The dangers of these routes should be made a lot clearer when doing these types of videos, as by masking it or glossing over them, you are potentially encouraging people to go out unprepared ,and to experience conditions that are out of their depth.
Beautiful video guys, well done. I'll be certain to have a look at your other videos as well, so here's another subscriber. I really enjoy watching these hiking videos from all sorts of different people, but the more I've seen the more my feet start itching to head off to the Lake District as well. 😀My fear though is that the journey to and from there will be much more challenging than the actual hiking and scrambling...
Thank you 😊 we really appreciate it 🙏 haha we are the same! If we are away from nature too long our feet definitely start to itch! Hopefully you can make that journey soon and explore the Lakes 😊
@@KittiandJon Can't be soon enough if you ask me. Visiting the Lake District has been a dream of mine for years. Never got around to actually doing it for various reasons. Coming from mainland Europe it's not exactly a short trip either, and for me to be able to do this alone, a few different mountains have to be conquered first... Ones of the mental variety, lets say. Hehe. 🙄 But I remain hopeful and those mountains aren't going anywhere in the next few million years. Meanwhile I'm thankful there's a lot of people like yourselves and others who share their adventures. It's a pleasure to watch and also works as a sort of mental preparation if you know what i mean. Anyway, hope you guys have many more joyous adventures. Keep those legs going! 😎 ---- Almost forgot to react to the first bit of your message. Can you imagine so many people living 90% of their lives in cramped cities who then spend their vacation on a cramped beach or on an overcrowded campsite? No wonder there's so much stress and other mental illness in modern times. People don't connect with nature the way they used to, and that's a shame.
@@Audioslaaf we 100% agree! Nature is one of life's best medicines :) fingers crossed for your journey and that it will happen one day...you will be all the more ready for it when the time comes :)
First time I went up striding edge I was 15 at school we were about 50m from the summit and about 8 pupils started crying, I couldn't understand, they were crying because they couldn't breathe we encourage them to the the top and I was really feeling chuffed with my self until I saw a 10 year old kid stood there with his family dressed in trunks flippers mask and snorkel, they had just walked up from ullswater lake 😂👍😎
For the most part they would be fine but there are a couple of small sections as you get towards the summit that might be a bit tricky for them. Trying to think back to when we did it to remember if we saw any dogs but honestly can’t remember! Would definitely advise caution though.
Great video, defo keen on visiting the Peak District next year after watching this video 😁 What Osprey rucksack is Kitti wearing please? My partner loves the look of it
Thanks Aiden! :) Kitti's rucksack is actually the 13L detachable one from the Osprey Fairview 70L rucksack. I think they also do a 9L and 18L daysack which look similar to the one Kitti has. We got ours from Blacks :) hope that helps!
Hi Grace! 👋 no we haven't done Mount Everest (yet!) We would love to do the trek to Everest Base Camp but I don't think we will ever be brave enough to go all the way to the summit! 😊 thanks for watching our video👍🙏
I would say it took us about 6-8 hours to do the full circle although my memory is a little fuzzy now as it has been a while! We did stop to film a lot and took about 30 mins on the top for lunch so you could probably do it in less time than that 😊
How hard was striding edge? I’m thinking of going next week, but my fitness is terrible. I’ve climbed Ben Venue and Ben A’an in Scotland. But that was almost a year ago. So any advice?
Hi Benjamin 👋 we would definitely suggest a moderate level of fitness for Striding Edge. Most of the trail up is steep to gradual in places but fairly long and then once you are on the ridge it isn't too bad. The last stretch to the top is a little technical and requires some scrambling though. Hope that helps!
Climbing my first mountain on the weekend, that being helvellyn and thinking off doing striding edge but I'm very nervous I won't have the courage or I may fall is this normal
Of course! Helvellyn is a fantastic first mountain to climb! If you want to do striding edge just be aware that there are a couple of scrambling sections which could definitely be nerve-wracking if you are a bit nervous already. For the most part the path up is very good but we would say there are 2 points closer to the top which are a little more technical and require hands and feet to climb. If this is your first mountain climb and you're a little nervous then we might suggest doing an easier route up or potentially a different mountain ⛰️ Scafell Pike would be a great first climb too as the path up is much less technical and the views just as amazing 👍
It is unfortunately illegal to wild camp in England and Wales unless you get the land owners permission. We still see plenty of people doing it though!
