I’m a Junior in High School, and when I tell people that I want to be an oncology physician, they act confused, and often say stuff like “you want to watch all your patients die?” But I take that with a grain of salt. This is my dream career and I’m willing to do anything to achieve it.

Hello. Could you recommend a really good hematologist in long island, NY? My dad is having hard time keeping his platelets up due to an autoimmune disease and the large granular t cell leukemia. We also found out his spleen is slightly enlarge. He's now getting nplate once a week and Cyclophosphamide with steroids 2 times a day. Day 1 his platelets was under 2, Day 2 it went to 4,000 but dropped back down under 2 on Day 3. It seems this hematologist is giving up on my dad. 😔 I'm sure someone out there will try to find a way to help treat him. 🙏
