txba.ly/v7zj - In this lesson, I break down a Hendrix Style Chorded Lick with impossible timing from the El Mocambo performance of Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Tabs available for this lesson at the link above.
I always loved that lick. I tried to play it as soon as I saw and I kinda figured out the first part, but as he started sliding down the neck he completely lost me. I'm glad u found this. Now I have no excuse to learn it
So many awesome licks and sequences from Live At The El Mocambo. Awesome that you broke this down for guys like me with high enthusiasm, low to no ability to figure this out on my own!
I just want to say that these lessons enable people like me to learn guitar parts I'd otherwise never learn. You are a great teacher and I'm sure an awesome person as well. I think your lessons will take me to the next level, as long as I have the discipline I need to practice. Thanks
Thank you so much Anthony. I had given up on my dream of playing SRV licks till I found your videos. I bet Stevie Ray smiles every time you play. I can't wait to get started on this project!
Hey Anthony. I had asked you to post this lesson. I didnt realize you had it on here already. Thank you man. Your lessons are such an inspiration. Please keep them coming. You are the man!
Great job on the playing and thanks for showing how to do it. This is a very useful lick. I'm gonna try to learn it by ear first, but if I get stumped (which I probably will, I've only been playing 1 and a half years) I'll be sure to come back to this lesson and maybe even use the tab on your site.
ohmm my god thanks anthony this is what i wanted so long i just couldnt figure it out i played it 100 times and still notothing. this is 6 star super video !!!!!!!!!
Another incredible lesson. Thanks!! I stole SRV's very similar lick from "Blues at Sunrise" from the "In Session w/ Albert King DVD/CD." Would be happy to send a tab if you haven't already figured it out. BTW...is the body of your guitar Zebrawood?---incredible balance of snappy highs and rich bass...nice.
The fact that your playing all the right notes but you still don’t so like him shows how much it about the way you play the notes not the notes you choose
