This is EXACTLY what I need. I have been trying to figure out turret rotation for my 1/35 and 1/25 scale tnks and the PCB board from the servo is the answer. Only wish I had found your video earlier because I was trying, unsuccessfully, to use speed controllers to modified Tamiya gearboxes and running out of space inside the tank. Very happy.
Hello my friend was looking through your videos and I only see this one Tiger 1 tank upgrades but I do not see anything on the Heng Long ABRAMS TANK..Upgrades or modifications..????
This is a great series of videos. Keeps things simple and explanations are complete so that anyone can do these upgrades. The HL Tiger is a great starting point and you can wind up with a tank that is comparable to any Tamiya version. Speaking of upgrades, Taigen now offers a recoiling Airsoft BB cannon for the Tiger 1 in case you want to add some more realism ( and get rid of that engine recoil jerk _and_ delay painting even more ) ;o)
+Tim Bryant As far as I can tell the Taigen gear is a direct fit, the slip ring would need to be rewired wether your driving the turret from the RX18 or from servo PCBs. It would be cheaper to get a 6 way slip ring from China for around £5, and if you’re really careful it wouldn’t be too hard to modify the stock Heng Lon gear for 360º.
Thanks for the response, I already installed the Taigen slip ring and gear. I might just leave it for the time being, although I like what you've done in this video.
Great videos! Liked and Subscribed!! Here's an idea for you? Maybe not scale but definitely cool. Could you add a gyro to the turret so when traveling it stays at its targeted position? You could use an after market gyro for an aircraft? I think it would be easy to accomplish :-) thanks !!
