Version 2.0 for the Zoom G3 is by far the best update I've ever seen for a guitar processor.
Having 3 extra slots is like having a second G3 for free.
Although I also own a G5, I really love the G3 form factor, it's perfect for doing sessions.
All guitars in this vid were recorded in stereo with the G3v2, no post processing.
The model i used is my absolute favorite; the Tangerine amp which is typical mid-gain but "less is more", it really helps in defining the notes.
I also used the Detune and Arena Reverb for a little Van Halen/Loudness vibe.
Kicked the t scream for the solo.

Thanks, yes i did write this piece myself and writing it was far more difficult and had a lot more work going into it than actually playing it. I'm especially proud of the 2 melodic sections at 02:40 and 04:18

Rhythm guitar patch is the same as for the solo but without the detune and reverb effects, so only the gate and the Tangerine and it was double tracked. Nice Amp skins you got there btw.

Hi Randy, great to hear from you man. Yeah i know what you mean, the Vietnam Requiem has allways been one of my favorite's too. However I don't see any point in doing anything with it without Rick (Warcloud81) and i guess he does not have any desire to rerecord it or whatever.

On the subject of Def Leppard patches- can you do their older lead tone, like Hysteria's solo? And that trademark tubular Phil Collen lead of the modern era? I know he uses a sustainer pickup which is hard to emulate, maybe a hefty dose of compression some chorus and delay? Much much much appreciated!

So I am looking at getting the G3 x or the G5. Sadly none of the store around here carry them. It sounds like you're say the the G3 is a little easier/ more intuitive to use?

How did you manage to record the G3 so successfully? I've been trying to do for nearly a year, I've tried the USB Recording and it fail terribly, Terrible Tone and Sequel LE Murdered my Laptop to Bits and Pieces! I tried Direct Guitar Cable into Microphone Input and that failed as well. I've tried Stereo Output using Guitar Lead into my School's Studio and it suck and failed as well! I have yet to try the XLR out into any recording source. I'm planning to buy a Audio Interface for recording.

Maybe the Tone from Don't Shoot ShotGun from the Hysteria Album If thats possible Henry or any song from the Hysteria Album would be okay as they are very Simular in Rythmn and Solo tones Thanks Man Btw if You have facebook it would be great to have a chat sometime when your not busy:) S1770

Hi henky! Im experimenting on my g5 today, its my 1st time to use the interface of this thing, and i dont know why i cant get the sound i like, i already installed ASIO drivers and all, yes it became low latency, i can get good solo sounds, but when i do riffs for metal, i dont get much, its like, the sound cuts immediately, its like the NGate was at max level but its not. can you please teach me the proper set up for DAW recording using this g5 connected directly to pc? i would be glad and ill be waiting for your reply. danielforto@yahoo.com

Don't know about the gate but it could be one is active within your DAW but it's hard to say what's going on without a sound sample. In general the only thing i do to make riffs sound more heavy is double tracking them (playing them twice panned left and right).

Thank you for your response. Im using Sonar 8 producer, and i dont know how to tweak it, or maybe it has something to do with my guitar pickups, theyre just generic, and the action on my low strings are buzzing. i dont know, but the output on my amps are clear. or do you use other interface other than g5? can i ask for your set up?
