Minnesota taxes my social security check and that's why we are headed elsewhere where people are sane and the retired are not taxed twice. There is truly a "drain" of old folks in Minnesota.

This softer and softer approach to crime is switching me away from being a lifelong Dem to Ind. Since when is it optional for an individual stopped by law enforcement to have “the option” to drive away , especially with one law officer already trying to get you out of the car? When would any normal individual stopped by law enforcement take off from a stop and create a chase situation or endanger the lives of law enforcement officers. Why should the individual stopped be allowed to put law enforcement officers lives in jeopardy, even if troopers make a procedural mistake in having inserted themselves into the stopped vehicle and place themselves at moral risk? Should their stop procedure grant the driver an option to kill the trooper by driving away without risking being shot by the troopers? The prosecutor deed to be recalled or removed from office. She does not value the lives of the law enforcement officers that are sent out to do the dirty work before her office gets a chance to decide to prosecute a case or not. I find it very telling that absolutely no one is standing with her at the podium. That speaks volumes. I can’t recall ever seeing a similar press conference where the Prosecutor is standing alone.

I'm so tired of people like this undermining our law officers. The few bad apples ruin the careers of many otherwise great troopers. What happens when good LEOs have been dissuaded from service by low-paying, dangerous, and highly criticized positions? They leave a void filled by more corruption as an unethical law force willing to grant political favors, accept bribes, and do little to protect the people we love. I've a family member who graduated top in his POST class but chose another career path as the inherent dangers coupled with external unwarranted criticism like this would never be worth it.
