Henri Roche PASTELS: unboxing, and review 

Thank you for the video-I was really interested in the half stick landscape set so it was great that was the one you reviewed, now I could see what the colours look like. I read another review in a pastel journal online, and the artist who used them realised these are the kind of pastels to use on the last layer as they have the luminosity and the grit to really make an impact. They would also be great for fixing mistakes. They are not the kind of pastels to waste on the first layers of a painting. And she also realised she could work in the manner of Degas with these as they did not alter and ” sink together” like other pastels do when you apply fixative, they stay true to their colour. So she used several layers with fixative in between, like Degas did, and then they worked splendidly and the grit ( pumice) in the pastels when fixed by the fixative actually made the following layers stay put and made the colours blend optically in a great way. So that was her tip how to use these pastels. But honestly-they are far too expensive-for that same price I can get two sets of Diane Townsend pastels that apparently are made of the same formula and also have pumice in them. But the box is certainly very pretty and has a dragon on it-something I always fall for. If I ever come to Paris I would sure buy some sticks as a beautiful souvenir-I would love that creamy white, and also a deep proper ultramarine… Thanks again for the review and I hope you have had plenty of pleasure painting with them!

Couple things 1) I very much want these 2) They're too expensive 3) I want them anyway 4) For the price of 1 Rochi I can get 3 Terry Ludwig 5) I have a LEGIT pastel addiction.....like its bad...I love pastels more than ppl...most ppl lol 6) What do I doooooo? Btw at 4:12 I really felt that lol

I want this don’t need any, I think I ordered the last 10 of the 80 hopeful It’ll be the end of them we’ll see I guess I am going to use the sennelier micro sets today I can’t wait

The sennelier micro sets are incredible so are the it is Rembrandt, micro sets I think it’s Rembrandt ts in color families but they’re really awesome. Too I’ll put it in later

I'm not sure why these are "worth" $20 for a full stick when every other pastel brand (even handmade pastels) are a fraction of the price.

$600 for 36 sticks, simply not worth the money as there are much better choices out there.

Dang those are dusty! Don't need em not gonna buy them
