HHS did sound like a mini NSU but thier drilling was bad and GE was poor. they only thing that really wow'ed me was the dancers routine. but it was just tooo long. ICNs show had more of a drive and was more exciting.. but i think the bones, over powering btones and trumpets trying to scream, hurt yall chances of being champs again... Tell ya dancers to stop faking technicality (Hopping around)
i use to like them untill the new BD came in... . they still have the sound.. althought its all uppbrass and tubas... but song selections and auxilary suck.. drumajors still on it though.
from my point of view the only thing good was y'all drill and slow song everything else sound like y'all just learned it. And i know that y'all didn't even think that y'all was going to win and the truth is y'all shouldn't have won Norcom shold have had it a third year but i guess they couldn't give it to them though.
I WAS ON THE TROMBONE LINE THIS YEAR IN 07 AS A SOPHOMORE AND WE CARRIED US TO THE CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS YEAR. THE WHOLE BAND WAS GREAT BUT WE HELD IT DOWN ALONG WITH OUR TRUMPETS. IT WAS A FUN AND BEAUTIFUL YEAR. 16 YEARS LATER IM STILL IN AWE OF THE EXPERIENCE RIP OR BAND DIRECTOR JOHN SCOTT. PERIODICALLY I AIRWAYS HAVE TO COME BACK TO REMIND MYSELF HOW GREAT WE WERE, SOME OF THE BEST TIMES OF MY LIFE. THANK YOU THOMAZ HILTON FOR UPLOADING THIS WHEN YOU DID. IT IS NOW TIMELESS. Sincerely Michael Maragh class of 2010
If it wasnt for HHS's Bones and maybe mellos, and the fact they have a pretty good dance team (although they lost points and ballou won best danceline). they wouldnt had won. but i feel as if they shouldnt had won cuz of the poor and easy drilling and the bad GE they got compared to ICN. ICN only had a bad danceline and not enuff Bones/mellos to support the arrangments.
that happends alot with schools with new directors who think they can do things on their own., and to tell you the truth, thats all im doin these days... finding old schol clips. HSHS is still good... they would embarrases bands in my area (Maryland that is)
