I am from Alaska then have driven through Ohio 4 times so I must say what a stupid state fish and game department to make hunters using straight walled cartridges to limit range of shooting and I have to wonder even to keep the deer killed in numbers low. I drove for hours in Ohio where the area was all flat as far as could be seen

I’ve heard people say it’s because the checkering lets dirt mud snow ice sand and crud fill in those checkers water can sit in those and mold or get into the wood through the checkering.

I was able to hit 3/4 Ton truck rotors at 300 yards every shot while standing with my Marlin once I figured out hold.

The cross-bolt safeties also are a hazard for the Marin lever guns

@@lurebenson7722 ... Ruger had an opportunity to eliminate the redundant and useless crossbolt safeties from the Marlin leverguns and didn't so I guess they're not that interested in our business ... Henry on the other hand listened to customers and builds leverguns with no crossbolt safety and now with receiver loading gates so Henry will be justly rewarded with much more new levergun market share
