I think Madrid’s approach of not having one specific play style is part of the reason they’ve won so many champions leagues in the past 10 years. If you play the same way every time, the opponents will figure it out and punish you eventually.

@@pierremaldonado7447 in fact red cards could have been two. Vini spared from yellow for protests 2 min later made that reaction foul that deserved at least another yellow. Kroos made three very bad interventions before being sanctioned. One was a clear yellow (the one where first RB freekick by Olmo, happened) and then he literally hit a RB winger in the ankle with a late intervention, not even seen by the referee. Using the same method used in the game (especially with RB players) referee should have booked him twice before getting the yellow card in the late minutes...

As a neutral I have to say that this tie was frustrating to watch. If that team wasn't named Real Madrid, then that team would have gotten 2 red cards and the leipzig goal in the first leg would have counted. I am at a point where I rather watch Europa League than most CL games.

Thierry is spot on, why do premier league pundits have to act like arsenal are already through? They need to respect Porto more they haven’t earnt a place in the quarters yet. And Jamie can say what he wants about Madrid but if a premier league team, like liverpool have in the past, go through unconvincingly the way Madrid did you wouldn’t hear him complain about it. At least Rudiger, Jude and Ancelloti have taken accountability and admitted the performance isn’t good enough.

Ancelotti is the greatest coach of all time because of his tactical adaptation. That pragmatism is perfection. The same style is boring. Also, Ancelotti has won the UCL with 4-4-2 diamond twice already, that is a narrow formation with no natural wingers. No one else can do that. Everyone relies on wide overloads in football except for Wenger and Ancelotti.

Leipzig was the better team in both legs and come up empty because of that ridiculous disallowed goal for a non existent offside in the first game.

The offside wasn’t for the player who headed the ball but for the player who put his hand on the back of lunin while standing in offside position. It was soft but if you actually follow the rules it’s the right decision. Henry also clearly explained why it was the right decision after the game. Y’all just love to blame the ref when it comes to madrid and it’s getting crazy at this point.

Underestimate Bayern at your own Peril. Bayern on their day, can ragdoll almost any team. And if Neuer is on, he would keep a clean sheet against any opponent, bar maybe Messi and Ronaldo.
