I really wish he wouldn’t talk about 40k. Normies ruin everything. 40k has been on the decline for a while, the last thing it needs is a Disney buy out, poor Star Wars.
@@badassgregory I think what hes trying to say is that hes someone that isnt a neckbeard is into something that most people think is just for neckbeards......
That was the most telling 8-word conversation in HISTORY. 😂 "Necrons? Okay. All right." "Cool." "Should we?" "Yes." They literally scheduled 4 months' worth of Necrons vs Custodes in those 8 words. 🤣
The best part is you can see when it hits Henry that the guy he was talking to was actually interested in the topic and not just moving the conversation along. That's the "Oh Necrons? okay all right, great" moment he realises there is actually a conversation to be had
No man ever has received as an answer from a woman, to playing WH40K and painting it's miniatures, "That's so cool" and "Love to come and see your armies". This is Henry Cavill's greatest feat.
@@EddieDubs It's like a real life teen movie. The ugly, nerdy girl gets a make over and becomes popular... because she was good looking in the first place. Literally a Hollywood actress.
@@EddieDubs This doesn't have anything to do with looks, giving zero fucks is something everyone can do. The way i see it, if you like something, and someone else laughs at you, no matter what, just smile and let them have it, it's not worth arguing with that kind of people.
We shouldn't forget: He is the guy, who almost missed the phone call for the role of Superman, because he was busy playing WoW. I don't know, what kind of 40K Project, he will make. But i really hope, he won't let anyone else, who doesn't know the Universe, touch his project

Joey: I'm going Necrons, next year Henry: *pleasantly surprised* Necrons? Okay! Alright! *points at Joey* Cool! Joey: Shall we....? Henry: Y E S This exchange gave me life
What I like is that the lady host of the show where that exchange took place was clearly aware of what he was talking about and fully supportive of his hobby, rather than treating it as childish like the other women on the show. Most women seem to treat him as a chunk of meat, and not as a person with interests that they might think are the territory of men they wouldn't think are attractive or worthy of attention.

I sincerely hope that Cavill beats the odds and turns his upcoming Warhammer 40k series into a success. He has a seriously large uphill battle ahead of him because of Games Workshop and Amazon. But because Cavill will be an executive producer, and because he's a passionate fan who's been burned by the people he's worked for, I really do hope he can pull it off. The guy deserves a break, and Hollywood needs more people like Cavill.
Wasn't always hot. He does talk about how he used to be bullied and called Fat Cavill. He also goes on to say that he doesn't think that was necessarily a bad part of his life or they were being malicious, just that they were all kids testing their social boundaries.
I wish he had that conversation with me. people think it's Childrens toys. pathetic heretics. once you start a 3 hour lore discussion and make them realize how many rules one must know to master the game they'd all he silenced.
The most under appreciated part of all of this is the fact that even when people joke about his nerdy interests he NEVER dismisses them and genuinely encourages people to keep an open mind. Most people might get defensive or closed off but the only way these things will grow is if more people feel encouraged to give them a try. All I want is for Henry’s WH40K series to be amazing & it can only succeed if regular people are encouraged to watch
It's the Halo Effect. He can like any nerdy thing he wants including bug collecting and LEGIONS of idiots will call him "brave" for it. How the F can you be brave when there is ZERO risk of things going negative? He's a 10/10 in looks, literally Superman. Any haters will get stomped out, doxxed, and flamed out of existence. Thousands of women will still die to be with him. Let any average looking 5/10 guy say the same thing and they will get shit on by 90% of the planet, including other nerds who aren't into their specific version of nerdom. They will get called everything from an incel to a Pedo, just b/c they dared to BDWU (Be Different While Ugly)
They'll never or accept uour love for anythibg outside of the societal norm. Dont tall for it, it just was society dues to lure passionate young men out in the open and mock them endlessly for it afterward. Remember, every one of their words of encouragement is a lie to get your guard down.
BS comment. Of course he encourages people. He's never ANYTHING bad come of it. People joke about his interests because "it's cute he's so nerdy". People joke about the average looking 5/10 guy liking 40k because he is "creepy, weird and childish".
Nothing has been or will ever be more wholesome then when Henry's co-star said he was about to build his 40k army and Henry just pepping right up and pointing to him like "bro we gotta play"
I love it! I was a fairly closeted comic and RPG guy growing up in the 80s and 90s. Played Warhammer 40K, D&D, etc. This was a VERY different time when people were demonized and ridiculed for these hobbies. Less so as the 90s progressed, but absolutely nothing like now, where you see parents and athletes wearing Captain America shirts, and these are multi-billion dollar franchises. I'm glad Henry is fighting the good fight to maintain integrity in these genres and projects as woke zealots are unflinchingly trying to burn it to the ground. Most of which are just there for a paycheck, anyway.
Henry’s passion for Warhammer actually pushed me to buy my first set of minis and paints, which will arrive soon! I’m incredibly excited to see what he does with the show, and I can’t wait to get as into this wonderful hobby as he is!
Feel so bad for Henry in the last clip. Imagine genuinely trying to talk about your hobby on a talk show and the host keeps roasting you and not taking you seriously
The interviewer was so dumb, henry tells him about the painting and then the gaming, and the interviewer proceeds: after painting, what do you do with them? 🤦🏻♂️
It's Graham Norton his job is to entertain the audience. Plus if you in his situation would've actually got offended by him mocking your geeky past time you are just very sensitive.
4:55 May I just say, I love how when the host visibly mocks Henry's hobby it gets awkward but then Tom Holland comes in with the slamdunk and makes it wholesome by showing a genuine interest. Like, you could tell by how quickly Tom noticed and didn't want Henry to feel isolated. *100% Nerd Bro moment*
I feel like Henry Cavill could do an introduction video to 40k for beginners and do a wonderful job explaining the basics. Lord knows he's a poster boy for the game at this point.
In my university i had free time in a class day and i had 3 hours until the bus to my home came to pick me up, then i decided to finish painting my mangler squig for my gloomspite gitz boyz, then a guy saw me painting it and who would have thought that it was a guy from who shared like 3 classes with me, and the guy said "yo thats some Bad Moon radness over there" then we talked a little, he actually has a Beasts of Chaos army, and the guy paints them really well, we have played 5 games, i have 2 wins and he has 3, and he introduced me to the full community of 45 guys that play Age of Sigmar and 40k in the campus!
He should play a Rogue Trader and not one that's ever been written about before. If he's the star, he has to carry the show and being a Primarch, Custodes or Astartes would be far too limiting. He has to serve as an introduction to the universe for a mass audience, which means he should play a role that allows him to essentially be a tour guide to 40k.
From the sound of it, he’s not going to star in the first series they develop. He doesn’t need to be in everything they make, he’s going to choose one role he wants and leave it at that.
@@Commodore22345 There's not sharing a hobby/internally thinking it's a bit odd, and then there's outright insulting somebody for their hobby, the two are very different, and the people in the latter camp are most definitely insecure/envious of people that aren't as self-conscious as they are.
The more I see from Cavill the more I respect him. A strong masculine nerd, who doesn't care what people think of him. We need more of this in today's world.

This guy is literally one of us and he was truly treated like garbage by WB, James Gunn, and higher ups. Perfect Superman imo. Honestly, the DC universe just needed better writers.
No shit ! The problem certainly wasn't the actor, and the production values were as good as money can buy, so that only leaves one lead : crap writing.
i liked snyders version way more than any previous live action superman movie..but i don't know anything about the comics so i am probably wrong. james gunn is going to go back to superman roots with alter ego clark kent which i dislike. romance, clark kent, daily planet... *puke* why would anyone wanna see superman as clark kent on the big screen? in series sure but not on the big screen.. people want to see crazy action and a good simple coherent story.
Writers think they are the gospel truth, but they’re basically the mouth of Sauron. These people are beneath almost everyone else in Hollywood yet act like their the most enlightened. It’s sickening.
The fact that he says "reading outside of work" which implies that 1. He reads, which is more than can be said for many many actors and 2. That he actually reads up on the stuff that he's working on
I don't know anything about Warhammer but the fact that this guy who genuinely loves it is producing it makes me want to watch the show. The exact opposite of modern day adaptations made almost exclusively now by people who seem to hate the source material.
@@rubbishopinions6468 Well sure. I was more specifically relating it to Cavill himself trying to join a passion project that ended up not working out well for him due to those same circumstances.
Man we lost Robin Williams too soon. I could only imagine they would have been fast friends, Robin was a huge 40k Collector with tons of Vintage EpicCast/ArmorCast Titans from the 90s.

Sometimes I fell sad for Henry. Everyone talk about he's "hobbies" as something nerdy and make fun of it but i would love to see some actual lore "nerd" enthusiast chat with him.
Interviewer: "So, any hobbies?" Henry: "Uhh... I'm really into Warhammer." Everyone: "Ahahahaha, he likes Warhammer! Wait, what's Warhammer?" Henry: "A tabletop game." Everyone: *Laughter ensues* But good for him, this just gains him more younger fans. Mainstream media seems to have a serious hard on for keeping the "nerds are fat greasy pimple faces living in a dark basement" stereotype alive, by any means necessary.
Tbf it's good what he's doing. He's showing everyday people that the hobby isn't really that sad. Like if someone that good looking and successful is still passionate about this seemingly laughable hobby...Well it doesn't look all that sad imo. Honestly if there was a legit movie about 40k with full Hollywood budget...fucking every teen boy to young man in the US and UK would absolutely love it from the fighting scenes alone. The table top aspect? Yeah you probably can't make that cool, that will always be niche. But the actual 40k lore? There is an entire part of the 40k fan base now that are totally into 40k...but barely care about the hobby. Hell I told friends about how crazy 40k is and they are enthralled, about the lore not the game.
it is the media and boomers in General. His Hobby for once, but second is the extreme objectification of Henry. There are so many clips of Woman either touching or talking about Henrys body in the way they shouldnt.. but yet no one really cares because he is a man which makes this normal.. sadly.
Dude honestly loves the universe so much he can't choose which character he would like to play if given free reign. "Yeah, playing Eisenhorn would be cool...but then I couldn't play a Primarch! Or the Captain-General". Love it.
I like how Henry Cavill is actually interested in some of the geeky / nerdy stuff. 👍 Not just "oh yeah I totally like that stuff" while pretending for a role.
He's a human being, what did you expect? He's not playing an act or a role he's just being himself and that's why i respect Henry more than any other actors out there. He didn't just break the stereotype but also completely ignored it, which is what most people should strive to do too. Fuck stereotypes and be honest with yourself like Henry is right here
Its awesome to see that Henry is so sure of himself and his hobbies, even when showhosts or others are having a laugh about it. What a great guy, would love to see him do Warhammer stuff (I don’t know anything about it tho haha)

With Black Library and GW as it is now? I seriously doubt that they could write a decent story to stand up on it's treatment and screen play alone.
