Getting ripped isn’t about winning the genetic lottery. Also, basic skincare and hygene can get you very far when it comes to looks. Henry does look very good tho ;)

Gamers, we're all just folks. Some of us are folks who are as imagined, some of us are doctors, some of us work at FedEx, and some of us are Henry Cavill.
Essentially the host of this show is saying "I'm and old fool, who has his brain filled with stereotypes" to which Henry says "Yeah... but these are stereotypes you know..." :) I can only imagine how fed up he is, with this question.
@@chrisp9824 Right? The last generation to be so oblivious about what the term "Gamer" even means are the Boomers... They always sound so pathetically out of touch with like the last 30 years of popular culture... it is rather quaint to hear them speak about this subject; because it won't be very long before there are none left alive that ever have lived during a time when there was no gamer culture.
Quite contradictory coming from a guy who will spend hours in his day studying and watching all kinds of sports. Don't tell me that Rich Eisen doesn't sit around his house eating cheetos in his sweatpants watch every football games, baseball and basketball games out there. Rich here does not see the parallels in what Henry does compared to what he does.
-Henry: "My house used to be a stable" -Rich: "You live in a barn" -Henry: "A stable. You actually can't even tell it used to be a stable" -Rich: "You live in a barn"
"When I think of games, I think of a guy in his sweats, eating chips, sitting around" Me: *watching this clip, in my sweats, eating tortilla chips, feeling attacked*
This whole "sweaty gamer" trope needs to die. It's a billion dollar industry with tons of different genres and fans from all walks of life. We're in 2019 for crying out loud.
I hate the interviewer questions about gaming... he clearly doesn't know what's his talking about ... I would have answer that every gamer has a different way of gaming... or that "how do you dress for gaming" I would have turned it around and ask him "how do you dress to watch a futbol or basquet game" ... but I prefer the way Henry answers him ... making clear it's not his business and almost making him look like a weirdo for asking that question xD
Tindroyes UnNoobTeEnseña I didn't like those questions either, but I'm glad he asked because Henry gave us interesting answers. And he really offended a lot of people by the "regular" look of gamer. I would like to see his face when someone would tell him that there are a lot of woman gamers. And the same applies to IT people. There's still a lot of people who thinks that people that are into computers are fat and sweat a lot.
In another interview Henry defends the fans who are heavily invested in their favorite books, movies, games and calls them passionate. Henry believes they have every right to be passionate and not labeled as toxic fans. Bravo Henry!
SquidBag I was wondering who'd be the first loser to troll this thread lmao congratulations jackass! Nobody cares if you're triggered by fans having opinions. Quick, go find your safe space
Not just Witcher 3. All of them. And on PC where AAA games feel most at home. I hope we get a little Henry Cavill easteregg in Cyberpunk 2077, he is kinda like the majority of Witcher fans, just (most likely) better looking, wealthier and more successfull. But once a geek always a geek :-)
You know what, interviewers don't often make me feel like that, but I really appreciated how this guy gave Henry Cavill the space to show so much genuine passion and allowed it to feel like such a natural and interesting conversation. It actually made me get a whole new picture of Henry Cavill that I didn't have before and it made me really appreciate his dedication to his acting roles. Shows you that it makes a real difference how an interviewer frames these kind of things.
His love for the games/books is SO encouraging. I REALLY want this show to be great because the Witcher world is such a gold mine of material. Henry you sexy, sexy man. I have faith in you.
TheCunningDesperaux 137 Lmao look at triss and fringila both are played by black actors even tho the characters themselves arent black. And yennefers actor looks eastern instead of slavic

🎶Toss a coin to your Henry, 'cause he fucking nailed it, Yes he fucking nailed it, Oh-oh-oh! Toss a coin to your Henry, A friend of gamers and geeks... 🎶
adamsandlerasa I disagree. The Witcher would makes sense to play, if you wanted to be a better actor as the witcher. WoW might make sense aswell, although I’ve never played it. But Total War games can’t really help you become a better actor, and he plays that, so I imagine he just play games because he likes games
you know what, Henry Cavill actually said that when he is Geralt in the TV show, he is just playing Geralt like when he is playing the games. If you watch the show, you can totally see that too. He became Geralt
I love the fact that Henry is a gamer and it really shows in the Netflix series. Based on the books, the looks and feels from the games, and Henry totally nailed the characteristics of Geralt.
My friend had knee surgery a few months ago and was on crutches. One night Henry Cavill helped him down the stairs at a bar in San Diego. Stand up guy!
The reviews for the witcher on rotten tomatoes lol. "official" reviews are 50%, but the user reviews are 95%+. Im at the point where I dont even care about the "official" reviews any more. Just finished the first season of the witcher and it was dope!!! Also if anyone would turn me gay its Henry Cavill. He is just wonderful.
Ahh that explains why he was so good at playing Geralt he knows all of the source material and actually loves it and he is just a good actor on top of that.
The stigma around gaming is out dated. Just look at this specimen of a man, not a "stereotypical gamer". In 20 years on average most people will have been gamers at one point or another.
It's particularly odd when Rich made his career talking sports to people who sit on couches, eat food, drink beer, and watch others play sports. He still thinks gaming is somehow worse than that?
@@apatheticallyconcerned6574 Basically sums up the boomer mentatlity. It's all about projection. "Huhuhu *wheeze*, silly millenial 'gamers' being lazy sitting there in the sweats eating cheetos instead of working hard like my generation" he says, as he sits there in front of the TV in his sweats, shouting at his wife to get more cheetos.
This interviewer is the boomiest boomer whoever boomed. "wHaTs gAmINg lIkE?" Lot's of ppl play games man, not just stare at lawn equipment in their garage.
Rich Eisen is a football guy. Don’t antagonize him for showing interest and curiosity in his guests’ interests. He’s even admitting that the stereotype in his head is wrong, but it’s not a fandom he’s accustomed to at all- outside of the Madden fanboys he occasionally deals with.
"i barely have time to game myself these days, so if i'm watching the pro gamers i'm wasting gaming time" literally the story of my life since becoming an adult and getting a full time job and my own place
red666 Honestly, I’d rather watch someone play, than play myself.. because it’s just more entertaining (because you see their thoughts, and hear their jokes, it makes you feel like you’re there playing alongside them, and can get an extra perspective other than your own.)
@@DarkBykeTwitch So you're saying you can play games with your mind? That's impressive.. Some games require reflexes, dexterity, or skills not everyone might have to be played [well,] so it is still "physical." But yeah, I explained above why I, personally, prefer to watch. Imagine going to a sports bar to watch a game alongside other likeminded individuals sharing in the experience, it's much the same.
"When it comes to fans, it is a fan's right to have whatever opinion they want to have, and people are going to be upset... I don't necessarily consider that toxic. I just consider that passion." -Henry Cavill during his witcher press tour. Cavill embodies Kindness and Understanding he's a genuinely good person I wish him all the best.
He owned the role as Geralt, he had the look, the voice and the personality of the character. He fit the role in the and every way, I loved the show as well.
So Cavill basically forced this project into life by giving them confidence in the project. It's much easier to get a show like this off the ground when you have a huge name attached to it.
@@xire7021 Thanks for the clear answer. That was a better outcome than I expected. You have my genuine thanks for that. However... I usually don't see that as a problem, and I was genuinely confused when you used the phrase "progressive racism". That particular phrase suggested a white regressive person thought that they saw a story which implied that non-white people are better than white people. That would be very problematic. Instead, it's just a potential, and averted(?), case of casting someone of a different skin color than the original for the role. To borrow a joke from Frasier: Let me tell you about the scanning tunneling electron microscope. It's a fascinating piece of equipment. One of the most famous achievements of science. With it, we can take a picture of the internal structure of the atom, the basic building block of everything that we see. Even with that microscope, I could not locate my interest in your problem. Good day. PS: As an aside, I bet I don't see you complaining whenever they cast a white guy instead of a middle eastern Jewish actor for Jesus. Get a grip.
@@hewdelfewijfe It's racism against whites, which in the liberal mind cannot exist. As for complaining about other race washing practices, I don't support them, and even if I did two wrongs don't make a right, do they? Not that I really expect a liberal to understand that; they're so filled with propaganda about how white people are the devil that they think it's only fair if racism is enacted back against them, even though historically speaking there hasn't been any prevalent inequality in suffering among any race or ethnicity. As an example, the English word slave actually stems from the word slav, named as such because of how often enslaved the slavic peoples were for a long time. They are wholly white. Yet listen to the inane far leftist today and you'd think the only people to ever suffer anything in life were african americans (and women, of course). But I digress; race washing canonical characters that don't at all fit with the lore of the story is a disgusting and absurd practice, one that is done purely for racist reasons. Anyone supporting it is a racist by association. It doesn't really matter whether they're white or black getting swapped either, other than in so far as there is an active political movement to force 'minorities' into every movie, tv show and career place. To be clear, this doesn't bother me because they're black, it bothers me because it's a movement of racially motivated discrimination and is in its roots anti-meritocratic.
Wow, I'm amazed. What a lucky man. Us, we just play these games and imagine that we are the Witcher but Henry Cavill has taken it a step further: he thought to BECOME the Witcher, and he did it. That's my man.
@@davidlegkodukh6969 you literally just spoke by the perspective I've viewed him, that they did a bad job. I thought you were implying the directors made him look better than he was, which was the opposite from the truth.

Oh man, that is a "Superman" of healers. The HATE that healers get for other people's mistakes is REAL, haha. They have to take in and deal with EVERYTHING and everyone happening in real-time. Hats off to healers like Henry! And healers in general. It takes guts! *blows kiss to his 17 year healer since Ultima Online, Heather*
Hes one of us Look how defensive he gets when the guy stereotypes "gamers". Maybe it was like that when we were like 13-17,18,19,20 years old. But, we are adults now and much of these games shaped our minds and taught lessons.
The thing about gaming, really it's the same as reading a book or watching a movie, but we don't make fun of people for doing those things. And there is some fantastic writing in many games, and they are cinematic, and beautiful, and bring every bit of art to life as other mediums. Yet people still have the "gamer" stereotype. Well it's not all teenage virgins who live in their mom's basement. Many of us just appreciate games, and someday I'll be just as serious as movies or books as an art form. Frankly, I think some games are already there, people in the mainstream news and media just haven't realized it yet.
@@andmicbro1video gaming is a new form of art It's only really been around for 4 decades or so. The new forms of advanced video games are only about 2 decades old. So, it's not accepted by media mainly probably because it's new
Cavill sticking up for the fans just won him at least one viewer for "The Witcher". I am so tired of Actors that trash the fans, I will watch shows I had no intention of watching if I respect the actor. Perhaps the actors from Game of Thrones could learn a thing or two from Henry Cavill.
Yup. Saw Cavill in The Tudors years back and already rated him highly, he can do gravitas, he’s got presence. And he comes across as a genuine guy, interviews freely and very well, best since Antonio. Plus... he does his gaming on a PC, the proper rig for the job. Oh yeah, Henry definitely gets my thumbs up.

Henry Cavill, one of the most handsome men to ever grace Rich Eisen's show, without a doubt, and an awesome Superman, gotta watch "The Witcher" for sure.

DC has failed miserably with this bum playing Superman. He doesn't fit at all, can't act, has the worst American accent, and is short, but mainly another Brit actor that is boring.
They have to write a good movie 1st fitting of the character not some dark emo bitch toned movie like all the dc movies he's been in. Id like to see him return for a Superman movie done right and see how he does when the writers, director, and producers actually understand the character.
Melvin Collins you are wrong in my opinion. Henry is perfect as superman. They only have to make a simple storyline....like the first original superman movie with Christopher Reeve! No CGI created scenes, no aliens, no monsters,....Just plane ass simple story and camerawork!!
The more interviews I see of Henry Cavill the more I enjoy him, he seems like a genuine person. I love that he's candid about his enthusiasm for books and games and doing stunts, and he didn't once rise to the interviewer's stupid comments. But I really dislike this interviewer.
I just love how deadpan he was in delivering that Tom Cruise punchline. He was so smooth and savage with it that it took a few beats for it to land with Rich. 🤣
Love him. Huge fan of the games so he reached out to Netflix before they had even written the script or had a show runner. Definitely a bigger fan after seeing this interview. Just a good normal dude who won the genetic lottery.
"I might offend people" and goes on to describe a version of gamers that has been outdated for at least a decade while sitting next to a buff and very social actor who says he likes to play video games recreationally. Wtf how much of a boomer can you be?
I listen to this like 20 times a day...it is the song, that makes all other songs in existence look like frequency marble, that had to be masoned aside, so this hidden gem can be unleashed upon mankind!!!!
At least Rich was honest about his perception of gamers. Honestly it is like that a lot but we still have jobs, friends, lives etc outside of those cheetos and gaming moments. it's just a hobby. it's only a lifestyle for the pro's getting paid.
