Henry Cavill talks playing James Bond! 

The studios HAVE to pick him as the next Bond. He's the right age now, seasoned actor, has the look. They'd be looking at 3-4 blockbusters if he was cast, a no brainer at this point. Younger Bond makes no sense, you forfeit the mystique & cool factor being too young.

@@Crim-kun Pattinson has better range (excuse me, simply has range). What does the world see in Cavill's acting? What are you all seeing that I don't see? The flat affect Superman? It's cute because Superman doesn't require range as he is essentially a god but if they gave the role to someone who could act and show the humanity behind Superman?? 🤷‍♂️ Mads Mikkelsen wouldn't have tanked the the Witcher series and bailed.. jus sayin

Interesting how a similar thing happened with Brosnan, where he came really close to landing the role in the 80s and it eventually came back to him in the 90s

@@joeofmacabre07, Yes, he was a Ian Fleming's self portrayal as a typical Oxford graduated English gent. Cavill could easily loose weight, if he were to ever play the role.

That's exactly how he should play Bond, except brutally violent in the action scenes, with slightly leaner frame and a British accent, of course.

I havent watched a Bond movie since pierce brosnan. James Bond movies have become a meme. I hope Henry doesnt do a james bond movie.

true - he would have been great in 300 too I bet. but 300 already had a great actor in Butler, its just I can see Henry pull it off just as successfully. Love him as Superman (there have only been 2 in my book: Reeves and Cavill: and Reeves was a very tough act to follow)

Its going to be years before another bond movie comes out. There was such a long gap between spectre and no time to die. They will need to crank the movies out.

@@garyrobinson8665 nttd was supposed to come out in 2019, but Boyle left the project and it got pushed back a year and then the pandemic hit and it got pushed back another year.

My only issue is that he’s built like a juggernaut not a slick spy but everything else is perfect

He can easily lean out a bit and lose 15-20 lbs. not a problem at all

No, they needed to complete the narrative arc.

If they didn’t take 7 years between Spectre and No Time To Die they still could’ve “completed the arc” and went to Henry. They had no plan on how to end the arc. If they had a plan Craig’s last one could’ve been released 2 years later in 2017. Bond films used to be every 2 years, then Henry Cavill’s first Bond could’ve been written and shot right before the pandemic and could’ve had the same release date as No Time To Die

@@hitchcockisthegoat It's not good to change to a new Bond actor with so short distance in years. A good example was that 6 years gap between 1989 Licence to Kill and 1995 Goldeneye. Waiting for the mid 90's was good to come up with a 007 movie having innovation and the feeling of being reinvigorated the franchise. As Henry Cavil, he's already attached to Superman, another iconic character, and being Bond looking type is not enough be a good Bond, he's much more than that, That's why Barbara Broccoli chose Daniel Craig in the first place, people said he was too short and blonde, but what is important is to be a very good actor.

@@pedrojunior83 that long span from 89-95 was due to a studio rights issue and litigation that EON productions was going through, not a purposeful creative choice. They had films planned for Timothy Dalton for 91 and 93 but because it was taking so long to resolve Dalton backed out. That time period was the exception, not the rule. And Pierce Brosnan had a script and was signed on to do a 5th film immediately after Die Another Day, the only reason that didn’t happen was they decided at the last minute to redirect the tone of the franchise due to the success of the Bourne franchise. That said, I agree with you that Cavill shouldn’t do it now because of Superman, but also keep in mind that in 2017 the idea of Cavill remaining as Superman was in doubt with the previous regime at WB. It’s the new leadership at WB that decided to keep him. Hindsight is always 20/20. Can’t wait to see who they choose, they always seem to get it right.

He could do both as long as he makes it clear that their schedules cannot collide. It's no problem at all to commit to two films in a single year and most franchises really only make one film every 2 to 3 years on average. He'd have plenty of time to do other films besides those two but with both Superman and Bond who the hell needs a third franchise anyway?

I also think he's too iconic as superman to be Bond like he's superman FOR LIFE it's gonna be hard to see him as Bond

No way he could be able to play both at the same time unless they wanna go with the jack reacher look for james bond which being honest doesn't fit bond's style, henry physic is perfect for the man of steel.

Just wait and you will likely see. Cavil was first runner up to play Superman in Superman Returns. He ended up taking over that role the 2nd time around. He was also first runner up to be the next Bond but lost out to Daniel Craig because he was considered too young at the time. Don't be surprised when they recast Bond real soon. You'll see.

I agree. It will be a huge loss for the cinema if he doesnt get to play it now. He was too young before and wouldnt be believable. But now... He is like the picture perfect Bond.

Based on the actual book, how it should follow. Cavill would be a very strong bond.
