Thanks for taking a look at our new Homesteader 9mm, we certainly appreciate your support! Regarding the H027's hand-guard sounding "hollow", this is by design. There's a reciprocating mass within the walnut forearm that helps to cycle the bolt, and is integral to the blowback action. Hope this clears things up!
I had a Marlin 450 my dad got my to hunt with as a kid, I unfortunately don't have it anymore and there not that easy to find. I have looked at your company's firearms for a long time, very nice just not my tax bracket lol. I was curious what model would be closest to one of the 450s I had. Thanks
make one on .45-70 with a 50 round drum and ill get it. with this firearm you guys are only 40 years behind your competition. you guys better get to it if you ever want to catch up.
Would still like to have a place to mount a flashlight. If I bought one, it would be for home defense as well as for fun. Most defensive shootings occur in low light.
As soon as I heard about the Henry Homesteader,,I had to have it in my Henry Collection ,This Henry says it all lightweight , accurate, easy to maintain, clean , very little push back , I love it , I'm a southpaw which catered to my dominant Left eye , Thankyou to Henry Firearms , definitely a carbine to have
I like this gun but the price is a little bit too high for my budget. There's so many cheaper alternatives for a pistol caliber carbine that are just as good in my opinion.
It is a beautiful rifle for sure, a bit too fancy for everyday use. I bought the Ruger PC Carbine because I didn’t want to worry about scratches. The Ruger’s accuracy is awesome, no regrets.
I'm glad Henry is making rifles the appeal to us old dudes that still like real wood stocks and more classic style firearms and not all that plastic tactical crap with mounted flashlights, laser pointers ect! Loved your video!
Generally the "tactical" stuff does have practical applications (lighter weight and accessory mounting options) but being in my mid 40s, I'm old enough to appreciate the classic/retro looking firearms. My first firearm 24 years ago was a Kimber Custom 1911 that I still have so I'm definitely a .45ACP advocate as well. That said, I did jump on the 9mm bandwagon about 3 years ago but I went with Sig instead of Glock. Most of the PCC have Glock mag compatibility but few have the Sig P320 mag option EXCEPT for the Henry. At least not ones that are below $1000. Hell, even that high end Sig PCC, the MPX, doesn't take Sig P320 mags but instead take some proprietary 30 rd mag. Regardless, I don't have $2000 for a MPX. The Henry Homesteader, while more expensive than the Ruger, S&W or Keltec PCC options, at least I won't have to invest in a new stockpile of magazines to shoot that damn thing if/when I decide to get one.
At the same time, you get what you pay for. I’m not disrespecting you in any shape or form, but a $300 rifle is just that, a $300 rifle. A Henry is something your grandkids can gift to their great grand children
I agree. Henry makes great firearms. In my experienced opinion, if you spend $100 on a weapon and you're able to sight it in properly and it fires every time you pull the trigger, it was a good buy. Price, or even country of origin ( I dont care how much of a patriot you are, Im as red blooded as they come) should not the deciding factor. Reliability and performance are what counts.
The factory peep sight is a little too far from the eye. Skinner Sights makes an excellent peep sight that mounts to the receiver using the scope mounting tapped holes. Closer to the eye and works much better.
Heny also has a New jersey factory. I only know where it is since II drive for Uber in New Jersey for years years and dropped passengers there several times. Ther is no Henry name on ghe building and in Anti-gun Nj that is a good idea
Not very informative you know nothing about the rifle it’s hollow because that’s where the blow back system is, and it’s not a round hole it’s called a ghost ring site, find a new hobby and quit wasting our time
I'm happy with my Homesteader. I mounted a Romeo 5 red dot optic on the riffle, and consistently hit the bullseye of a target 50 yards away. It breaks down easy for cleaning, and is pretty enough to hang on my bedroom wall.
Since it has a threaded muzzle, and can take a magazine of over 10 rounds, it's now an " assault weapon" under Illinois law, and is " law enforcement only". Could they make it in a 10 round only version without the threaded muzzle, for those of us in the Peoples Republic of Pritzcurr? ( misspelling intended)
Great vid brother ,,, I agree with you about us 'old guys', can't wait to get my hands on one and hope Henry makes it available in more calibers down the road,
The four round mag is probably made because most states only allow up to five round magazines for deer hunting. Its actually a pretty cool idea that henry did that because some people have to modify their larger magazines in other PCCs to make them legal for hunting.
Thank God another person of Polish descent that is a Rush fan and appreciates a classic looking rifle. Yes wood not plastic or composite. Saw these at Shot Show this year. Not a big Glock fan either and definitely a .45 acp enthusiast. Gotta love the case knife....LOL! Husaria Glory!
It's nice to see that instead of making just another deadly automatic weapon the gun companies are finally creating secure guns that are totally harmless thanks to that brown colored safety device known as "wood". Imagine how many lives could be lost if the gun was all black and got chambered in a military or assault style cartridge.
My buddy paid $740 out the door. I've seen them going for $900 plus tax. If you want a better deal there's a place out of Alabama that sells them cheap and ships to your local ffl
This is more of an aesthetic gun. You get it for the cool looks and traditional feel. If you're looking for a no-nonsense, serious practical 9mm carbine, then the Ruger PC is the way to go.
Everything but the traditional looking wood furniture is “tacticool”. Ambidextrous safety & charging handle , drilled & tapped for optics, threaded for a suppressor, & mag wells to accept sidearm magazines (just not yours , I have that issue also). It is a fine & traditional looking piece but don’t get that twisted with not a modern firearm (tacticool). Thanks for sharing
I only have one Henry, the .22 magnum pump with octagon barrel, but it's enough to convince me of Henry's heirloom quality, and it's a jackrabbit shootin' beast. I missed out on the Marlin Camp rifles, but Henry comes to the rescue with the Homesteader. Like you, I'd love to see it it .45 acp.
The reason that’s hollow is because the precipitating innards are in there. If you don’t know what you’re talking about you really should’ve took the gun apart and looked first I don’t enjoy a video when you don’t have no idea what you’re really talking about.
Great video man, but I think they cut you off, it just ended. Nice shirt btw, original or a reprint? Rush is an underrated great band. Saw em a couple of times myself, and they do not disappoint
Also teams up well with the Ruger 10/22 take down rifle can fit both Ruger 9mm take down and Ruger 10/22 take down rifle in one carrying case along with accessories and ammunition ")
Even tho it doesn't have the wiz/bang tacticool look.... I feel like "us old guys" could certainly defend the house/home with that handsome carbine with a mag of hollow points of whatever variety....
I don't need that Glock setup. I will go with the base model, with the factory mags. Works for me! (And it has more of that traditional look.) Glock is overrated anyway. It's always "Glock mags! Glock mags!" But whatever keeps you happy.
I dont know seems to be your theme of the features on this great little innovative rifle. The 1976 tee shirt was to funny! maybe you should know the gun better before you review it???
stop saying these guns are for us old guys. all the gun guys i know young and old appreciate guns like this. and i kind of disagree about it being for old guys if you must. if it was just for old guys it wouldnt take glock mags it would only take some proprietary henry mags
