I could (and have done) listen to Henry’s stories for hours. Fascinating human being.

I love that Bowie connects Henry with Lou Reed and then later covers Laurie Anderson who was Lou’s wife.

I am a huge Rollins fan and I’m sorry if you feel he comes across as a pretentious asshole. But, the guy seems genuine and honest about his feelings on life and the people around it. And I think that’s what I like about the guy. He’s not aiming for your approval. He’s just Henry.

s staners he doesn't smoke pot, that's why he is a little pretentious.

I think it’s a “cool” hip thing people do to sound edgy and hyper individualistic when they have a problem with Henry Rollins...all you have to do is actually listen to what he has to say.

Hank tells it like it is. How he sees it and expresses himself with intensity. I've experienced his spoken-word shows and he really is a genuine person.

Evan Abbott Not necessarily. Rollins was quite a jerk in is first years with Black Flag. He got better later on but some people still remember. I like him now but I hated him in the past.

The thing is, is that his nob goes up to 11, and its stuck there. Just a hyper intense individual.

LOW. Best album ever. Many of the tracks were originally intended to be the soundtrack for The Man Who Fell to Earth.

Gotta say, Rollins nails it yet again. Bowie was my Patron Saint of Weird Kids, and his loss is a wound the whole world of music felt. We are lessened every time a creative great passes, but with Bowie it seemed like we were drained of so much more than usual. Every person lifted up out of darkness by Bowie's light felt a terrible flicker, like the darkness was on the edge of coming back...and perhaps it did. Not ashamed to fanboy gush for Reed or Bowie, like Henry...some things are too important to waste time feigning indifference.

Henry Rollins - the fanboy's fanboy. Loved watching this. Always comes across as a genuine guy (to me at least) with all of his stories - he's really chilled out since passing middle age. To have met Bowie, and to have that much restraint while bubbling over inside with 'I'm meeting fucking BOWIE' - great stuff.

the south is not full of a bunch of racists ,anymore than the north. ..henry has been sorta pushing that trash for yrs ..one of the few things of his that gets on my nerves ..watching him bash millions of southerners who helped build America from bottom up ! It's like a black man in South Carolina said to me one day ...that stuff you hear northerners pushing ( like Henry is doing ) is a joke ..blacks & whites ran around allot back then , like they do today...in other words ..don't believe the hype! He just attacked all those southern states ..many include people who helped make this clown a millionaire ... ungrateful ignorant recluse needs to go close his door & read another book

I respect Henry Rollins' opinion and it's always a pleasure to listen to him, but to put Led Zeppelin at the top of a R'N'R all time list and then in a lower class David Bowie, at the level of Joy Division ?! That's more than unfair, objectively speaking.

Maybe it's not a matter of ranking Bowie at a lower level rather than Joy Division at a higher level?
