With the nuts and bolts away at the plater and the wheels with the powder coaters, Dave turns his attention to the exhaust headers and brakes to give them a good cleaning, ready to go back on the bike when the rest of the bits reappear.
It's not the most exciting of times in the workshop but it is necessary!
Paul at A16 Road and Race has also worked his magic on the exhaust silencers...

Great videos Dave. I did notice the swingarm bobbin lugs were missing. I had an SP1 back in the day and attempted to race it with limited success. Hope to see you at the TT.

Ah, technically the SPY had bobbins, the SP1 didn't!!

I was hoping for a cameo role from Paul, was he camera shy? That starter motor looks stunning, well impressed. Keep it up Dave.

A trick to get rid of the staining on the calipers is to use bilt hamber korrosol or auto wheel. Avoid getting it on any zinc, but it works wonders on painted and anodized stuff.

Funny how Honda fit titanium headers to the CBR929 and stainless steel to the SP1.

WD40 on a scotch pad works phenomenally well on stainless 👍🏼

Great vid Dave. What length are those original caliper bolts please. I ask as the ones on my cbr6 have simular corrosion and drives me mad. But i want to keep original, so want to replate them like you doing. Thank you.

Hi Dave, another great video which is very relevant to me at the moment as I’m currently going through my SP1. Could you tell me where you send the bolts for plating please? I would like to get a number of the original bolts plated. Thanks Phil

I used DDG plating in Nottingham. Good turn around times and good value
