I memorized this speech when I was 12 or 13 to get out of being grounded. "This story shall the good man teach his son." Happy Birthday Dad, you're one of the Greats.

I can hardly listen to this without weeping with pride; it defines what men should be.

Best version ever. Did my best to imitate it as I walked the Agincourt battlefield back in 2013.

If you enjoy, you will love Branaghs' Much Ado About Nothing. It is Shakespeare even for people who say they can't follow Shakespeare. Both of these productions are simply brilliant.

Twice in my schooling years did I recite this speech for classwork. I still remember most of it even though it's been 25 some years. Hearing Branagh recite it always gives me goosebumps. The music is a big part too. Stirring...

I thought of this speech the night before my first mission as a Pilot over Iraq and I literally had no fear.

I did work for a military funeral group and our chaplain always quoted this amazing scene when he put one of his brothers to rest. We few we happy few. We band of brothers.

Here, Brian Blessed plays Thomas Beaufort. Shakespeare has him referred to as 'Exeter' in this play. However, Beaufort didn't receive the title of Duke of Exeter until the following year - 1416. I guess just a little bit of artistic license.

I see one or two commentators have branded this oration as 'patriotic', as if Harry is a cheerleader for Brexit or something! This great speech has very little to do with patriotism, more a paean to personal courage and brotherly bonding. All that aside, Shakespeare's incredible words are so brilliantly delivered here.

These are powerful words, and words I've quoted often. The performance does them no justice.

The best version I think- much better than Olivier's for me, partly because they look convincingly scruffy and muddy. And the music is perfect throughout- not too intrusive- and helps a lot.

The Night's Watch deserves a speech like this right before the Battle for the Dawn begins

The battle was really won by the Welsh archers who fought for the English against the French. They fired 70,000 arrows in the first three minutes of the battle which decimated the French. This was stated by Philip Warner who was senior lecturer at The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.

I don’t imagine Shakespeare’s words of this speech being spoken to a crowd or audience of soldiers but in private to Westmorland in more of a solemn but confident voice.

"Oyma gud gerl, oy am." :O) Actually, if I remember correctly Winston Churchill wrote that the court of Henry IV was one of the first in which French was not the language of court. Wikipedia says 1362 Edward III was the 1st to address Parliament in English.

Branagh was born in Ireland but moved to Reading, England when he was 9.

This all said, there is no person on this planet capable of vocalisation without an 'accent', and, even at the point of colonisation where several sub-dialects of English became the common idiolect of American-tongue, these were merely aspects of English Accents, rather than 'the core', if only because there never has been a single vent in which English was spoken.
